He was not politically targeted. He pled guilty to 15 tax evasion charges. And the government got the information of Weisselberg's culpability from his former daughter-in-law who voluntarily turned over the documents to the state. The "I think" is the lack of controls that the organization probably didn't have. This is coming from my professional experience or a gut feeling. Maybe you should refresh yourself with the particulars of the case before you start blabbing away with unfounded opinions of yours. Because he was the CFO, and who has the authority to do what he does with the books with pretty much no questions asked, it is reasonable to assume no internal controls. This is an accounting problem first before it becomes a possible legal problem.
We got him since November 2020. The rest are just bonuses. Another Trump insider going to jail. Have you been counting since 2017? If he perjures himself it will be an even longer sentence. And considering he's been Trump's accountant for decades, what he says in court could be very, very, very, very costly to the Trump org.
For starters, for Hunter Biden, the FBI has not concluded one way or the other. That fact is incontrovertible. Second, each of the others is the basic facts of the case. Yes, there were 38 people charged, pled guilty, went to trial, etc, and none of them was HRC. HRC should have been charged, but only after the 2016 election was over. Otherwise, that will be considered a "political hack job," becajse Comey is a Republican would it not? Third, there is no concrete proof that I have seen on Joe Biden's violations of the law. Not one. I have heard innuendo, hearsay, opinions without evidence, etc, but no facts whatsoever. This is just garbage talk from AM Conservative Radio and TV and that is it.
Appearing in a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday morning, Weisselberg, 75, acknowledged guilt on every charge and agreed to testify, if called, at a pending trial for the Trump company. As part of his plea agreement, Weisselberg would spend five months behind bars, followed by five years of probation. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/08/18/weisselberg-trump-guilty-plea/
One of Donald J. Trump’s most trusted executives stood before a judge on Thursday and pleaded guilty to 15 felonies, admitting that he conspired with Mr. Trump’s company to carry out a scheme to avoid paying taxes on lavish perks — even while refusing to implicate the former president himself. ...“Yes, your honor,” Mr. Weisselberg said again and again in response to detailed questions from the judge, Juan Merchan, who asked whether he and the Trump Organization committed the criminal conduct underlying each of the 15 counts. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/18/nyregion/weisselberg-trump-guilty-plea.html
The details of his actions and what violations he committed or didn't will soon be revealed. IMHO, by his past behavior, he is in trouble.
Did you miss he is not testify about Trump? And I am quite sure the DOJ went through his proffer quite throughly before offering the plea bargain.
This investigation has always involved Trump Org fraud. You can celebrate the fact that Weisselberg won't testify directly against Trump, I have no problem with that. But I am certain that if the Trump Org. has to pay tens of millions to the IRS, Trump will be personally affected. Save the campaign for the trial.
It is a legal matter, an investigation into tax fraud by the Trump Organization. That Trump and others seek to politicize it is unfortunate, of course, but Trump is not even a candidate at this time. As for smoking guns, I never said it was such a thing and am not going to do so now. It is what it is -- the former CFO taking a plea deal that includes the possibility of his testifying against other ne'er-do-wells at the Trump Org.
Buu bye, Trump Org, ETTD is a self fulfilling prophecy AGAIN and all because of one individual, Individual One.
All due respect Steve, Biden looses to Desantis, but he beats Trump handily. Republicans forget that a large part of the electorate didn’t vote FOR Biden, the voted AGAINST Trump. And in all reality, A Biden/Desantis race would be much closer than you think. Desantis only won the governorship by .4%.in a heavily republican state. Once he actually gets on the national stage I would bet he doesnt even make it out of the primaries. YES they are some republican states that will vote for him because he is a republican. But most of America is not MAGA, and DeSantis is MAGA. The right will need a more moderate candidate because the right, IMHO, is in a tough spot right now because the MAGA wont vote for a moderate and the moderates wont vote MAGA. Your own party is split. Will be an interesting time in 2024. I think the soul of the nation will be on the line.
And you guys have always said THIS IS IT WE GOT HIM NOW. It's not a celebration it's a fact, you can hold your pity party based on it. You have no idea what the Trump Org. will pay over this 10 year million dollar benefits charge over school tuitions and company cars and rent. THIS IS IT with all the hype?
Yep over undeclared grandchildren school tuition, company cars and a rent subsidy over 10 years amounting to $1.7 million. And not Trump, another deflated balloon for you.
You're backpedaling. You are now saying there is a possibility, whereas before you said the CEO will out the rest of the coven. In your opening thread post, you did strongly imply there was a smoking gun when you wrote, "Ladies, gentlemen and everything in between, ready your popcorn! It looks like things are set to become very interesting in the New York investigation into the Trump Org. So, not only was another witch caught in the witch hunt, but this one is apparently going to be ratting out the rest of the coven as well."
Interesting "agreement"........ as he said he would testify against the Trump ORG.............but not against any of the key players.
Former CFO, i.e. Weisselberg. Yes, he will testify against others at Trump Org. if called on to do so. I don't see what that has to do with any "smoking gun."
I don't care whether he testifies against Trump. If Trump is guilty of something, that will likely come out regardless.
Dodge noted I repeat you think $1.7 million over ten years of misreported benefits is going to pit the Trump Org. under.
