So what the hell is your problem with this thread?

Irrelevant to CRT, so why are you bringing it up?

    Great. Irrelevant.

They are re-labeling Diversity Training (which is decades old) as CRT so they can criminalize it. That's how these culture war laws are designed to work. Corporations are forced to spend time and money to re-work their training material in order to avoid government putting them out of business. Its a classic example of Free Speech violation.

You actually think that the diversity training hasn't moved on from where it began? :roflol:

Why the hell would government put them out of business?

Think? No, I don't think I KNOW since I have been taking them for 30 years.

How about you? What do you know about it even the fact that you live as far from the US as you can possibly get

Why? Politics. Its 100% about playing populist culture war politics. They are creating laws to criminalize speech for political reasons. These laws are designed to punish businesses which are not being politically correct, and Diversity Training (now re-labeled as CRT) violates these new PC laws.

    Hi, chris155au.

The Big 5 are the five basic steps each of us can take to help control the spread of airborne infectious bacterial and viral diseases. They've been around for at least a couple of centuries and remain valid. They are:

    1. Wash hands frequently.
    2. Wear a mask in public spaces.
    3. Maintain distance in public spaces.
    4. Get vaccinated when one's available.
    5. Check reputable sources for information up-dates.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

You're talking about Democrat governments forcing diversity training on businesses?

Nor did I ask you to specify it.

In US, Florida government is spearheading the efforts to criminalize speech / topics which they find politically inconvenient.

Jim Crow ended years before I was born and I'm in my 50s. Any living adults who might remember it would be in their 80s or 90s by now. Like the prior poster said, when are you going to stop living in the past? The whole point of CRT is that America was, and more importantly IS, still a country based on racist principals, effectively the old "the white man be keeping me down" argument formalized.

    It's bunk.

The last time I met a bonafide racist was 40-odd years ago give or take. Yes, a few idiots still exist, but we will always have idiots among us, that is a sad function of the homo sapiens species that we're unfortunately stuck with.

But the more you folks pour gasoline on whatever fire remains, the worse YOU are making it, and as proof I simply point to race relations in 2022 USA. They are the worst they've been in my entire life, all because of crap like BLM (Blacks Love Mansions), the idea that cops are killing unarmed black people for sh*ts and giggles on a daily, if not hourly basis, when in reality it happens less that 10 times per year, and your insistence that Jim Crow is still with us.

I don't know where you live, but I've spent most of my 50+ years in the south and I've never so much as seen a "colored only" sign on a water fountain, or been somewhere that wouldn't serve any relatively decent smelling person that came in the door with money in their pocket.

While there is not any problems with teaching history as it existed, in fact that's a very good idea, but let's leave the past in the past. I see you're banned though, so you probably won't see this. Too bad.

We're 50+ years past Jim Crow, redlining, and all that other stuff, but we still have almost exclusively black neighborhoods. Why? Not because they're poor and that's all they can afford. When I lived in NYC, a very good black friend of mine lived in a home far more expensive than mine. Yet his entire neighborhood was almost exclusively black. Why? Why do so few people marry interracially? That's one I really don't get, I've been married twice, and both of them were interracial.

    what is it about?

there are problems with some taking wokism too far on the left, but has nothing to do with CRT

and most of the left do not support the extreme wokism going on, it's as bad as Trumpism on the right

the problem is, the parties are so divided, they can't win without their extremist votes, and that is sad

Respect is earned. Not given. I'll be courteous to anyone. But there is no way in hell I'm going to respect a complete stranger. And I'll only respect a co-worker after they have earned my respect. Until then they only get courtesy. And if they demand respect from me I'll go tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. And yes, that even includes a new boss.

    Hi again, chris155au.

Thank you for taking a personal interest in this poor old country mouse.

I accept the description of the claims of Critical Race Theory as given in the link of my post, # 186, above.

That American society in whole or part, from well before the adoption of the Constitution of the United States of America, included slavery as a 'given' is fact. That it took 244 years from the start of slavery in the colonies to its outlawing through the Lincoln proclamation is also documented fact. Sociologists have studied the persistence of culture and there is a considerable literature on prejudice against Blacks post-proclamation. The record of legislation in our states which was intended to reinforce societal prejudices is also available.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.
