Bahahahah so tell me. Why would she run the civil suit now. Why not wait until the DA charges him and he’s convicted criminally. Her civil suit becomes a guarantee at that point because he’s already been declared guilty. Whereas now she has to actually fight against his innocence.

You and I both know what that means. It means there won’t be a criminal case.

Your question makes absolutely no sense. Why the hell would she?
In case you didn't know, civil and criminal cases have different standards of evidence. She's got a slam-dunk case already.

And no one is going to be dumb enough to think he's innocent.

No, she's bombarding Trump with lawsuits for no other reason than to drain his finances.

Yes they DO have different standards. That’s the point. If you know you can win criminally you don’t try the civil lawsuit first. That’s standard practice.

Donald Trump, 3 of his children sued for business fraud by New York AG (msn.com)
Can you imagine Trump being sued? Let's see him weasel himself out of this one.
Trump is in real big trouble now. It's been a long time coming and Trump and his family will get it.

Trump is getting his second four year term: in Anti-Trumper’s heads?,

I had to snicker at the repetitive use of "witch hunt" today, especially when the T**** settlement offer was refused.

Why would you offer to settle if there isn't some meat on this bone??

As usual, what happens behind the scenes is 180 degrees different from the public bluster...

Is this the same one that the lefty judge slapped down last year over this? 100% political but I'm sure she's banking on a lefty jury to help her out. If it was a crime this chick would be charging, she literally campaigned on it.

You must not be following. Civil cases normally precede criminal cases in white collar crimes. In fact, criminal cases are often terminated if there's a civil settlement, as has happened for Trump and his family before.

it is almost embarrassing to live in country that despite decades of fairly constant reporting on Donald trumps life and methods, it all was ignored by a significant minority who have elevated this washed up TV orator to significance, it is educational for those who wondered how Hitler rose to power within Germany, very educational

The Manhattan DA was doing a criminal investigation. The State DA was always doing a civil one. Once convicted in the civil trial it will be much easier to go after him criminally.

Well, to be fair to T**** supporters (and the rest of us), believing that T**** is a scummy lying real estate developer/conman and seeing that listed out in a lawsuit are 2 different things...

But now that his misdeeds are spelled out, I agree it takes a real odd personality to continue to support him... going forward...

. . . She isn't waiting. She just sued. Almost immediately after interviewing Trump. Have you not read the OP?

Oh, how could I already predict this response before I even opened the thread? Trump has really trained his following well. Anything happening that is not in his favor is always lefties' fault.

Quick question for people like @ShadowX and @Wild Bill Kelsoe : Trump famously says that he doesn't settle, and there really wouldn't be a reason for him to settle on this if he thought he had a case (especially if he was as confident about that as ShadowX is) . . . so why did he attempt to settle before the suit was even announced?

He wanted to settle so he could stop pissing away money, I imagine.

If that were true then he'd pretty much settle any case he comes across. Yet he says he doesn't settle cases he thinks he can win.

    Laughable witch hunt.

    In the article:

Prosecutors note that while their office has not reached a final decision as to whether this evidence warrants any legal action, their grounds “for conducting the investigation are beyond reproach.”

    Real solid case there.

Even moreso that they want to subpoena the Trump family for questioning. Is this Attorney General actually a lawyer? Whats she going to do, get them to admit what they can't find?

Imagine all the tax payer dollars spent chasing this down because of a simple partisanship.

When they actually get some evidence and an indictment, let me know. Then they still have to prove guilt.

There are already indictments in the criminal case. This isn't the criminal case. She's already questioned the Trump family . . . who pleaded the 5th hundreds of times . . . which can be held against them in a civil case. And if you had done some homework, you'd know they've already found a metric **** load, including Trump's double bookkeeping. The case stands to recover far more in taxes and damages than it has cost taxpayers.

Again: there's a reason that Trump attempted to settle before the suit was even announced.
