Biden says US troops would defend Taiwan; White House backtracks remarks

In an absurdly bizarre interview with 60 Minutes, President Joe Biden stated he supports the One China policy, which essentially means that he supports China's authority and sovereignty over Taiwan. He then went on to publicly state that, unlike the war between Ukraine and Russia, he would commit US ground troops to fight China if they acted on the sovereignty he claims to support.

The White House is once again scrambling to undermine Biden's authority and public statements. Biden is clearly not in charge of the Executive Branch. That's probably a good thing considering his mental decline and desire to commit countless deaths of Americans in a war with China during a period of economic decline and global supply chain issues.

 

I think the authority rests with the DNC and white house staff, not Biden. He will continue to make improper statements as always.

 

My guess is that Barack is still in charge.

This is about the fifth time so, yes, the U.S. would defend Taiwan if invaded. We would have to just due to seni-conductors alone not to mention keeping Communist China confined to the first island chain (what parts of that Chona Chona can even reach which is less than half).

The problem with that is, as unbelievable as it sounds, Biden is actually the President. If China were to make a move on Taiwan, Biden could simply order the 7th Fleet to defend Taiwan and I'm not sure there is much those 20-something staffers who think they are really running things could do about it. Biden has said that we would defend Taiwan enough times during his Presidency that we can at this point dismiss that it's a gaff, this is actually Biden's policy.

 

And importantly, whatever the president says is U.S. policy. Promising to defend Taiwan is the smartest thing Biden has done. Now to do the second smartest thing, he needs to start firing staff.

 

Cowardly Biden is desperate to erase his public disgrace in Afghanistan.
