We , the Europeans, as well as the Russian people are all being kept in the dark somewhat on this issue. We are already into WWIII, but not many are acknowledging the fact, as the political "leaders" don't believe the respective populations are ready to be into a "war economy" with rationing, price and wage controls, and hardships most living have never endured. The Russian people are probably the most "enlightened", as their government has been a bit more honest with them as to what they are facing. The Europeans are the most in the dark, as their leaders are still trying to find a way to keep their industries going through the winter, much less heat homes and schools. The amount of money being sent into Ukraine is astronomical, and, as Mike posted, the sanctions on Russia were really Suicidal for the West, particularly for the U.S., as more than half the world is decoupling form the dollar. Interesting times ahead.
I suppose it depends on what constitutes a 'world war.' Right now its Russia vs Ukraine and probably the US (if you think we dont have at least spec ops there fighting alongside Ukraine in some capacity, then I've got a bridge to sell...). Factor in all the 'aid' being sent to Ukraine, and it effectively becomes Europe vs Russia, just with Europe not doing any fighting (tho UK prolly has spec ops there too, if I was a betting man). I think its not exactly a 'world war' yet. But its certainly gearing up to be.
Seems like she supports the actions of Putin and possesses the unique knowledge of how Russians are living under the rule of an honest man.
We are not living in WW3, at least not yet if Putin really, really, really wants to do something stupid. This is just a proxy war in Europe, much like the Balkans was in 1990s, Iraq/Kuwait in early 1990s, Iraq in 2003, Vietnam and Korea, and countless other wars. Most of the nations in the Ukraine/Russia conflict are staying out, a vast majority are doing that.
