    snip

Federal agencies under the Biden administration have been using a value of $51 per metric ton of CO2 – which in itself was a steep climb from the Trump administration’s $1 per metric ton.

Now the EPA is proposing to go even higher, at $190 per metric ton. Among other effects, raising this cost is likely to raise the prices at the gaspump.

    end snip

WOW, a 5,000 % increase under full Democrat control. And now they want to raise it even more!!! Isn't this a tax? Shouldn't the house be involved in levying taxes? How can the EPA be given such unregulated ability to impose fees that harm the regular folk?

Just going to plop this here! And regarding your highlighted and bold statement above, they already proven that the house no longer has control of the purse with the college tuition forgiveness.

then it seems that you are saying that what the Democrats accused Trump of doing, it's actually Democrats who are the dictators. I am shocked :frown:

It's evident when people truly pay attention. The one that got me all fired up here in Colorado was when Prop 112 (oil and gas drilling restrictions) failed to pass by a 60/40 vote, however, our Democrat lead state house and the progressive governor felt that Coloradoan didn't really mean to vote against the bill and behind closed doors, passed SB 181 which enacted prop 112, despite how Colorado voters voted.

I think your elected leaders understand that they will be blamed for adding to the fuel price spiral. The Green Weenies are living in a fairytale world of US life without enough energy to support itself.
BTW, is Colorado going EV yet?

You discount the impact the media has as they push the Democrat agenda. Folks are not provided facts, just opinions.

Biden/Dem's EPA wants to quietly tax gasoline (and you) into oblivion

EPA floats sharply increased social cost of carbon.

'EPA has proposed a new estimate for the social cost of carbon emissions, nearly quadrupling an interim figure that has already drawn legal challenges from a host of Republican-led states.'

'The Biden administration has been using the Interagency Working Group’s interim value of $51 per metric ton of CO2. But earlier this month, EPA quietly proposed increasing that number to $190.'

That would be a $6/gallon ADDITIONAL TAX on gas, or, if you get 'lucky', just an additional $2/gallon.

But remember despite the plethora of different ways this administration has been hostile to the gas and oil industry driving up cost ( yet just one more example...) You can count on Democrats to keep telling us that he has nothing to do with the cost of gas.

Biden swore up and down that he was doing everything possible to lower the price of gas and reduce inflation. Anyone with a single working brain cell can see that he's INTENTIONALLY raising the price of gas and causing inflation. While he's preaching all this green crap, I don't see him traveling to his home every weekend in an EV where he can enjoy low cost electricity thanks to the solar panels on his roof - which he DOESN'T HAVE!!!!

Think about it. The people who voted for this insanity because of mean Tweets are the same hyper sensitive people who call other folks racists, nazis, homophobes, bigots, haters, misogynists and islamophobes.

OK libs, once again; what has Biden done for America and Americans? Biden has done more for foreigners in shithole countries using your money than he has done for you.

You don't need to search far within this forum to see posts from Democrat voters saying exactly that

@FreshAir I wanted to make sure that you did not miss this thread so that you are aware of the actual things that Biden has done having nothing to do with Trump that is hostile to the energy industry and driving up cost.

I would hate for you to be less than informed on this subject.

agree, not the time to do this, but then again, big oil is already screwing us, so let's see if the gas price goes up or down after this change, but let's keep it in mind

and to be honest, I am not sure what $51 per metric ton of CO2 comes out too per barrel of gas we gave them to sell, and how much of that profit the taxpayers already get - does big Oil Create a lot of metric tons of CO2?

The WTI oil price is $78.6 today. It reached $74 in October 2018.
    upload_2022-11-29_9-27-19.png

Wow, that's a whole whopping 1.05 times higher. The agony... Looks like the Ukraine war induced spike in oil price is over for now. Watch for prices at the pump also coming down again after the Thanksgiving driving spree.

Will the "Biden did this" crowd credit Biden when oil prices go back to normal? Not a chance. Actually, they shouldn't give him credit, but they also should have given him all the blame when oil prices went up.

you mean like Trump raising import taxes will nilly, seems that is something Presidents can do, Presidents can do anything now

we also have the DEA deciding if plants are legal or illegal, the DOE issuing debt relief, Faith based initiatives dishing out money to churches

Congress just wants to gripe all day and is outsourcing their work it seems
