He didn’t say confiscation, he said it’s absolutely sick we still allow the sale of semi automatic firearms. Democrats have tried in the past to ban the sale all guns with detachable magazines with an exception to a select few like .22 LR. They talk bad about semi autos and 9 mm. They absolutely would ban sales and put the remainder in a class 3 license group. Don’t think for one second they won’t.

Hillary even said while running for president that she wanted an Australian style buy back. For those who don’t know, that’s a mandatory buy back. I call it a confiscation. Beto also on the last presidential run was quoted saying “hell yes we’re going to take your AR”.

If you think democrats won’t do it you’re high in the night

Such is the nature of propaganda. Make people believe the untrue, and they will support whatever you want.

If I may add, "make them embrace the ridiculous and they will become a slave to tyranny"!

A butter knife or a spoon can be an assault weapon. It’s a stupid vague term.

    Who said anything about confiscation????????????

What makes you think Dems have the power to ban all these guns? You do realize we have Repub pols in the house and senate right? Hell, the Repubs will have control of the House. Not to mention the SC will end up having something to say about any such ban. It’s odd you think Dems have the power to just ban guns.

That’s why Biden wants it done before January so he has a democrat house. The senate may be a road block because it’s still required 60 votes so even if they wait till after January to try and pass it in the senate they won’t have enough votes unless the same republicans that voted for the recent gun control bill votes for this one as well. They will have a hard time passing it but it can be done even if it is unconstitutional.

It will never happen before Jan. The Repubs will THANKFULLY block it in the Senate.

this another example of the ATF making up their own rules. These guys are out of control and not actually solving crimes just looking for people to arrest for BS charges.

Actually they are trying to rectify a poorly defined paradigm. AR pistols were originally ?allowed? to enable disabled folks to use the AR platform. Since then it has been used to get around the SBR rules and used by most, not disabled, persons to create a SBR that isn't subject to the SBR tax.

Personally I disagree with the whole SBR, "PPC" rules/concept outright. AN AR with a short barrel, no matter how it's configured is just as dangerous, but no more so, than any other AR or rifle.

Good luck with that since the 2A wasn't intended for hunting or sport shooting which a single load single shot, gun would do just fine. The 2A is intended for self defense which is what a semi-automatic and fully automatic weapon were designed for.

    Sandy Shanks said:
Fourteen people who did not know their last Thanksgiving was already behind them.

What in the world are Republicans thinking? We don't have a clue, and they won't tell us.

Republicans captured the House in the November mid-terms, and their leader is the leading candidate for the Presidency in 2024.

Something is seriously wrong with America right now.
    *****************************************************************************************************************************************************

The NRA-sponsored Republican Party refuses to consider the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban despite the massive carnage.

The AP reports, "When President Joe Biden speaks about the “scourge” of gun violence, his go-to answer is to zero in on so-called assault weapons.

"America has heard it hundreds of times, including this week after shootings in Colorado and Virginia: The president wants to sign into law a ban on high-powered guns that have the capacity to kill many people very quickly.

"A weapons ban is far off in a closely divided Congress. But Biden and the Democrats have become increasingly emboldened in pushing for stronger gun controls — and doing so with no clear electoral consequences.

"Just over half of voters want to see nationwide gun policy made more strict, according to AP VoteCast, an extensive survey of more than 94,000 voters nationwide conducted for The Associated Press by NORC at the University of Chicago. About 3 in 10 want gun policy kept as is. Only 14% prefer looser gun laws," AP

Republicans do nothing and they remain silent on the issue.

Consequently, Americans will continue to kill each other.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving. a man went shopping in Chesapeake, Virginia. He purchased a semi-automatic pistol. Later that day he killed six people.

No doubt Republican legislators had a fine Thanksgiving dinner two days later.

Kinda like calling abortion women's health or reproductive health. Even worse, the meaning of diversity has been twisted to mean anything but.

Do you remember this gem from a rough, tough and rugged he-man reporter who oozed of masculinity?

New York Daily News journalist: Firing an AR-15 gave me PTSD

Firing an AR-15-style rifle can be a deeply traumatic experience, according to a New York-based journalist who said his recent experience with the popular rifle left him with post-traumatic stress disorder.

"It feels like a bazooka — and sounds like a cannon," the New York Daily News' Gersh Kuntzman said in an article published Tuesday. "The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.
    .................................
"I've shot pistols before, but never something like an AR-15. Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection)," the journalist wrote.

"The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick," he added.

Kuntzman wrote, "Even in semi-automatic mode, it is very simple to squeeze off two dozen rounds before you even know what has happened. In fully automatic mode, it doesn't take any imagination to see dozens of bodies falling in front of your barrel. All it takes is the will to do it. Forty-nine people can be gone in 60 seconds."

its understandable that people would step directly around a BS tax grab like this. We have to pay it if we want to shoot the things we build or buy, and you’ll get pulled off the hot line if your gear is out of order.

since it’s no more dangerous than any other AR variant, which I agree with, this seems like a waste of federal law enforcement time and resources that could be better spent.

Circumventing the SBR rule by building a PPC was a clever trick ... that may be coming to and end; ATF is, predictably, getting a lot of push back on this plan. (What they should do, IMHO, is abandon SBR foolishness instead of changing their ill-advised and inadequate rules on PPC's) Banning or taxing weapons to stop crime, without a study to support the actions being taken is unwise, IF the ban or tax fails to curb crime (as have the PPC and SBR tax) then it's just more ammo for the "do nothing - throw our hands in the air" crowd. We really need some research in to our gun violence problem, so we can take educated, substantive actions. What we don't need is attacks on guns that may not make sense but sound great to the uninformed; which accomplish NOTHING and get us at each others throats, even more than we have been.

20,000 gun laws on the books and the left thinks more gun laws will solve the problem.
Which is why most ignore the lefts only answer for gun crime
Yet they love to ignore that no NRA member has ever been a mass shooter.

I would bet any amount of money Biden will never succeed in banning handguns. Hell, he’s not even going to get “assault” rifles banned.

    That appears to be untrue:
Police Reveal Newtown Shooter Had ‘NRA Certificate’ As Group Denies ‘Record Of Member Relationship’
They also reveal that police discovered an “Adam Lanza National Rifle Association Certificate,”
    https://www.mediaite.com/online/pol...s-group-denies-record-of-member-relationship/

True or not, the NRA has, over the years, thrown as many wrenches in efforts to stop gun violence as the could. Which, IMHO, is a shame. They could have taken a tack that supported ending gun violence to protect our 2nd amendment rights, rather than make it a fund raising, recruiting, political issue.

It's political currency wasted that could have been spent trying to get something real done.
