Parents should not force it on them until what age?

parents should NEVER force it on them, how do you not get that

now if a child wants to get circumcised at 14, more power to them, it's their choice

Well you confused things, when in response to me asking "what age", you said "that is between them and their doctors, parents..." I asked "what age" in response to you saying that "the child should have to consent to it when they are old enough to do so."

    What changes at 14?

it's their choice, as a baby, they can't make that choice

they are the ones that will have to live with that choice, which is better than forcing it on them

So as soon as they are not a baby, they CAN make that choice?

as soon as they are able to make the choice for themselves, depends on child, but 14 maybe earlier

14 we allow children to get mopeds and ride on the road, get jobs in the fields, so they are old enough to choose to be circumcised, though I bet 99.99999% wont

14 year olds are allowed to ride mopeds on the road in the US?

Ok, so that's circumcision, now what about gender affirming care?

How could such a law be enforced if it depends on the child? How could the government determine when each child is "able to make the choice for themselves?"

What scientist think you should inject minors with hormones to change their gender?
Medical professionals are taught to keep us healthy, castrating, surgically removing breasts, injecting or blocking hormones in minors is not doing that.

The enlightened countries have already stopped so-called gender affriming care. It is time for the US to stop the insane trans cult.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/euro...-on-transgender-kids-and-medical-intervention The gender affirming wokesters are on the wrong side of history.

yes, they have to get a moped license, then they can ride mopeds on public roads

same, their choice, parents can't force it on them

So I'm supposed to think you know more about healthcare than healthcare professionals do? I'll pass. They are willing to talk logic and reason and evidence. You aren't.

Healthcare professionals learn what they know in college, they are not in a place to make life altering decisions for people. Castrating someone or injecting hormones that don't belong in their body is not "healthcare".

I know some "healthcare professionals" who are great at their job and can save lives with medicine or surgery but don't have a lick of common sense.

So you'd prefer the Nanny State decide that for them?

No, I'd prefer no life altering methods be done till they are old enough and mature enough to make that decision for themselves. Is that so hard to understand?

I didn't ask what you prefer. I ask what you think should be outlawed.

For the same reason minors aren't allowed to do many things, they shouldn't be allowed to do permanent alterations to their bodies. It's odd that you think they should.

Permanent alterations are made to the bodies of minors every day. Dental surgeries, circumcision, gender "correction" for those with ambiguous genitals/hermaphrodites, cleft pallet surgery, tonsil removal, etc. It's odd that you think that all of these things should be illegal.

This discussion seems way out of control.

Medical practitioners work within a strong framework of medical ethics that is a SERIOUS part of medical training. Violations threaten their licenses.

These decisions are NOT just up to some doctor. If the kid is less than 18, the parents are involved. There would be serious psychological evaluations. There would be consults with the kid. There would be measures proposed that didn't involve surgery. There would be required wait periods. Etc. Etc.

You seem to be implying that some surgeon can just start cutting on the word of a child. And, that is just NOT what our medical system does.

You are attempting to compare getting tonsils removed to castrating breasts or injecting estrogen? If you're serious, I very much over estimated you.

You claimed that no permanent alterations should be made to a minor until they are no longer a minor. So I gave you examples for why that's dumber than a sack of sand. Once you understand that, we can move on to the rest.

Getting tonsils taken out doesn't alter who a person is.

This conversation with you is pointless as you are not even trying to be serious. Comparisons like that are the most ridiculous excuse I've heard yet. I don't care for anything you have to say.
