Once the GOP primary is complete, Russia will likely put all their efforts behind whomever emerges, knowing the odds are always better they'll get more pro-Russia decisions from that side...

I imagine they'd prefer Mango in the primary, but I'm not sure even their support will make the difference...

I admit, I never understood that argument. It was an executive agreement, not a treaty and Biden could have abrogated it on day one, like Trump did to the Paris Accords. The truth is Biden agreed with Trump on pulling out of Afghanistan, he just did it his way.

OK maybe "Trumpica" is the latest lefty meme, I'm not familiar with it. But considering that besides Trump and DeSantis, most of the other GOP candidates and maybe candidates are on the other side of the Ukraine question, means there will be a healthy debate about it on the Republican side. There will be no debate about it on the Dem side.

If you made a deal, any type of deal, and they broke that deal, would you trust them again? Probably not. Would anyone trust that person who broke the deal? Probably not. At the very least, you would think twice if you were to do the deal knowing that the person whom you are dealing with is not trustworthy.,

That might make sense if Biden opposed pulling out of Afghanistan but only went through with it so as to not break a deal. The fact that Biden wanted out of Afghanistan as much as Trump did makes your argument pointless.

Our borders are unsecured because of a broken political process, not because of lack of resources. And yes, in a multi-trillion dollar budget the billions we send to Ukraine are negligible.

Actually we should have helped in Syria in 2012 but Obama decided not to.
The CIA had nothing to do with Ukrainian politics.

Nonsense. Biden reversed many Trump decisions. There's no reason he had to uphold this one.

The support for Ukraine is pretty much bipartisan. The problem is that the Freedom Caucus and MAGA supporters are not supporting Ukraine, and that is a major problem with the GOP. Ukraine is quite literally fighting for its life, being invaded by Russia for no reason or cause. Every excuse Russia has given has been a complete lie. It is also bipartisan that we send Ukraine weapons to help defend themselves. And that is not going to change.

The only reason why MAGA supporters, via Trump and DeSantis, is to be against Ukraine Aid is that it gives Biden a leg up, and they can't have that. Instead of developing policies that benefit all Americans, they just want policies to benefit themselves because they feel they are entitled to it. And that is all.

Any republican who runs for the GOP nomination about Ukraine and supports Ukraine will be called a RINO or worse by the MAGA supporters. And they can use their influence in state GOP conventions to get them censured. They don't want a healthy debate. They want a dark, extremely dark contrast to Biden, thinking it wouild be an easy choice to make. And that did not happen in 2020 among independents. And if they continue to do this, there will be a repeat of that failure in 2024.

What sort of Americans vision turns a blind eye to the fact that we are not even concerned with our own border but we are spending our taxpayer money to mettal in the affairs of a Nation overseas.

Biden did, mostly his immigration and energy policies. But once an agreement is signed, an international agreement, he had no choice. What he did do was put a pause into it for about two months or so. After that, it was ordered to do so.

It's clear you don't understand why people oppose getting involved in Ukraine, since the only possible reason you can think of are rather dumb political reasons. I like the discussion of real policy issues however, and the eclectic group of people who are on both sides of the debate.

Most people are concerned about our own borders. The problem is our northern border is more porous than our southern border. You guys are just focused on the Southern Border while ignoring the northern border that has pretty much the same issues. The other problem is that immigration is complex. Some of the illegal alien problems occur because of the inequities within the legal system, the long wait times, and so forth. But given the political divide, even legal immigration problems cannot be solved because no one wants to give the other political party kudos for solving the problem. That's why

Then why don't you advocate that Canada step up to the plate and participate?

More nonsense. The "agreement" was with the Taliban, not an internationally recognized entity.

But that does not absolve the fact that this administration has all too willing to spend obscene amounts of our tax dollars on another country that we don't really have any business meddling in.

It's kind of funny how millions pouring over our own border do not constitute an invasion but 10,000 Russians going into Ukraine does

Estimates are there are nearly 500,000 Russian troops in Ukraine.

Your meme does not explain the divide, Mikey. All you have done is shown who is for or against Ukraine support. It is not the EU, it is NATO. Yes, Ukraine wants to join the EU, but the EU is an economic trade block, not a military bloc. The military Bloc is NATO because it affects Poland as much as it does Germany, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. I don't listen to Chomsky at all. I know he is anti-war. He was anti-war against Iraq in Gulf War I and 2 and used the slogan, "no blood for oil" meme that didn't catch on in the 90s, but sure caught on in the 2000s when Bush was president. Kuwait was overrun by Iraq in 1992 because it was easier for them to invade rather than pay back the loans they borrowed from Kuwait when Iraq was at war with Iran for 8 years. Then the conservatives got upset with GHWB because he didn't go far enough in the first war and we needed second war to "finish" the job.

But for most people, being anti-war now is politics and since the other guy is for it, by god the modern conservatives are against it.

Trump made the Taliban an international recognized entity with the Duma Accords. He left out the Legitimate Afghan government so he could get the deal done by 2020 as a "fulfillment to a campaign promise."

So if there are no real issues, only politics, doesn't that mean your position is simply a political one, not one based on perceived US interests or ideology?

It involves our national security interests. That is the only reason why we invaded Panama, Grenada, Lybia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Iraq. We even had the Banana Wars where our troops went to the highest bidder for our little wars in Central America in the early 20th century. We have been doing this a long time and we have ben an interventionist country since 1945 for the most part with something called the Cold War.

With the Duma Accords, that was not possible. The Duma Accords should never have been signed. For politics, if a Democrat did this type of accord, the GOP would be, quite literally, calling for their head on a platter if that happened. But with Trump, I guess it gets a free pass I imagine.

The real issue is Russia and how far do we want Russia to reincorporate the former Soviet Republics that made up the USSR again. That is the real issue here.
