I am more afraid now because we have an open border, and we have a president who supports it. It’s easier for the bad people to get onto the country now.

Are you saying there are no more border agents patrolling the border or border checkpoints?

How about the places in between those check points, the open desert.

We’ve made it harder to get on planes, so the easiest way to get in now it to get into Mexico and then sneak across our border. From Mexico they can even fly to Canada and come in that way because Canada has some kind of agreement with Mexico which makes that real easy.

You mean like it’s always been? They’ve always been able to come into the US in between checkpoints in the open desert. Nothing new. So again, why is NOW such a bigger issue than in the past?

Because of the ingrained fear that White Christians are becoming the new minority in this country. That's why they are freaking out.

Some illegal aliens who sneak in across our southern border do not obtain a drivers' license or labiality insurance. You should fear those drivers also because they shouldn't be driving on our highways. They shouldn't be in our country.

So what, the point being, they came in. Presently we have other terrorist coming in. Who cares how a terrorist 'came in'. I care about a terrorist being here.

Here is the list of states with the most and least uninsured drivers:

    https://www.flafirm.com/resources/blog/florida-has-the-highest-rate-of-uninsured-drivers-in-the-us/

DeSantsis' Florida is leading the pack, what is he doing about it?

On the other hand, "socialist hellholes" like NY and MA are in the top four.

Back on topic: Here is an idea, if the conservatives would stop shouting from the rooftops that they think we have open borders, maybe less people would try to cross.

They are overwhelmed by the numbers of people who are crossing. Many of them are stuck with babysitting jobs created by the numbers of unaccompanied minors who are crossing the border. The number of illegals that have crossed is in the millions. With no border wall and the resources stretched thin, we now have no border.

Ah…so we don’t actually have an “open border” as you claimed. Thanks.

So you have a delusion of safety with regard of your kids being sold fentanyl or some other awful thing from South of the border but you fear a very very unlikely occurrence?

That's like drinking and driving and being afraid of being struck by lightning.

Previous decades were not very safe.

So you have an illusion of safety.

Be sure to buy some lotto tickets because if you think your chances are that high, go roll those dice.

Using your logic we all have an illusion of safety every time we get on a ladder or use a power tool or drive our car. Therefore we have a choice…we can spend our days worrying about every little thing that could go wrong or go about our lives trying to enjoy every moment. I’ll choose to try to enjoy every moment.

So you are complaining about Biden not doing anything about illegals but yet they are constantly catching them?

Does this make sense to you?

that's correct these are dangerous activities. You can make yourself as safe as possible wild and dangerous activity but it isn't safe.

Do you ever put yourself at risk falling off a ladder if you never get on one?
So if that means your kids get on your fentanyl and die from it then there's no problem right because they were just trying to enjoy the moment.

You have to be balanced. If you live for unnecessary risks you're probably not going to live very long. If you take calculated risks to do what you have to do to get by and do your best to mitigate them you'll live longer.

100,000+ overdose deaths and millions entering the country from all over the world is why. It was never this bad until every democrat on the stage raised their hands while democrats created sanctuary cities. Even the presidents of Guatemala and Mexico said Biden gave illegals the expectation of being allowed to come here.

You link doesn’t state what an uninsured driver is. My mother in law has a license but is unable to drive at all. Does she count in that stat?

The parts of the border with no wall or security are open. If the door to your house is open and no one is watching it, is it secure?

That’s because there are more of them to catch. I thought you were an anti illegal alien/strong border guy.

In Texas, we have a law where the police have the authority to look up your license plate and see if you have insurance. If no insurance, they can immediately pull you over. That law was passed i in the mid-2000s and our uninsured rate is still at around 22%, mostly with US Citizens or legal residents not keeping up with the requirements. Also in Texas, if one is illegal, they cannot obtain a driver's license or state id card per the REAL ID act. In addition, just because they are from another country may not mean they don't have a driver's license. And in most cases, obtaining a driver's license in places like Mexico, Spain, Europe in general or in Asia, it is far more expensive and time-consuming than here. Here it is basically a few weeks, take a blatantly obvious written test and a simple driving test that may last 10-15 minutes at max while in most cases, the ability to parallel park is no longer required.

The point is that the illegal alien issue has been a problem for decades. We have heard the same argument you have spouting here since the 1980s, as far as I know, perhaps longer. And yet, when you look at most conviction and crime statistics, illegals and legal immigrants are the least likely to commit crimes. US Citizens are more likely to commit crimes. that's the point.

And then letting them go. It's call catch and release. After that they are transported all over the country. The progressive slogan is "There is no such thing as an illegal alien."

Debating progressives on this issue is like playing whack a mole. They have no interest secure borders. They don't care about drug overdoses. They don't care if The United States goes down the tubes because they view the United States as corrupt country that deserves to be destroyed. They don't care about crime as long they are not victims. They are "citizens of the world."

The link below says Texas is the worst. I tend to agree.

    https://everytexan.org/2022/10/28/2...ans make up 9% of,2021 uninsured rate is 8.6%.
