The left cares about what they’re told to care about. They ignore the possibility of terrorists entering our country, they ignore the insane crime in democrat cities, they ignore the 100k+ overdose deaths, they ignore the crazy murder rates among certain people and they ignore that at least 40% of the women and female children smuggled by coyotes are sexually abused. What they scream and holler about are those hideously hard to find lethal white supremacists, and they will ignore the fact that most mass shooters aren’t white, they ignore the non white murders and scream bloody murder if a shooter is white or a cop. When was the last time you saw a liberal make a big deal over a shooting where the shooter wasn’t white?

We have China as our main threat, Muslim countries chanting death to America, and a deadly invasion from the south, but don’t you say anything about you friggin racist MAGA supremacist.

Oh I am — I think the border should be militarized or at minimum needs massive surveillance.

In addition we need financial incentives going to Mexico to help secure the border and financial penalties for failing to do so.

Biden sucks but this border thing has been in issue the last several presidents only one side uses it for political points while doing nothing and the other side does nothing.

But it’s insane to say the border is open and then point to the massive number of apprehensions they are making.

Drug overdoses will never be prevented as long as we keep engaging in a culture war against drugs and fail to address the mental health and physical health this country is facing. Make most drugs, legalize them, and the ones that are really bad can be handled by reducing demand.

As long as there is high demand nothing we do will stop it.

My kids wouldn’t use fentanyl because they aren’t morons. Like I said…feel free to live your life scared about every situation.

Nope. Anyone who dies from an overdose only has themselves to blame for using illegal drugs. Unless you believe everyone who uses illegal drugs was forced to. Is that what you believe?

People who get attracted to substance are mentally ill. They aren't stupid.
Being prudent isn't a bad idea.

Bullcrap. Some might be mentally ill but to make a blanket statement that all drug users are mentally ill is asinine.
Prudent is one thing. Worrying yourself over every little thing isn’t.

    What?

You bringing 9/11 into this OP as an example of our Southern border? What is that?

Oh, by the way, Bush Jr, a Republican, was the president then and he was not able to save us from 9/11. You seem to be damaging your own OP with this post.

In addition, are you aware that we have less illegal aliens coming in than the amount coming in before the year 2000? Is there any NEW safety problems that did not exist then?

What a waste of time this OP is.

You have absolutely the wrong idea about addiction. You do know that Rush Limbaugh was addicted to opioids right? Did he have mental illness. I don't think so. Even Alex Murdough, the attorney who was convicted of killing his wife and younger son, admitted on the stand, he was addicted to opioids for about $50k a week. Then you have alcoholics who just can't seem to put the bottle down, or addiction to tobacco, or sex/porn, and a whole bunch of other things. It can be treated like a disease, but it is pretty much all mental, which does not mean mental illness, just a brain chemical imbalance of some sort.

Being prudent means not traveling 100 mph, as a few drivers did in 2021 when we had snow, and causing the 100-plus car pile-up or traveling 90 mph on the highway while everyone else is going 70 to 75 mph, and a whole bunch of other things. It also means trust but verify, not deny.

No one is coming up to the kids and saying "Here, try this fentanyl. It is some really good stuff." More than likely, the fentanyl is laced with something else that the kids want and think it is harmless to them. And yes, if their friends suggest it to them, then they will try it, hands down.

Has nothing to do with whether they are morons or not. Peer pressure is more likely the cause.

I was responding to somebody worried about a mad gunman shooting his kids at school. Just because the media slobbers all over it every opportunity they get (if it bleeds it leads) doesn't mean it's remotely likely to happen to anybody.

In cases where fentanyl is being laced into something else is that something else ice cream? No, it’s laced into ILLEGAL drugs.
Do you think “kids” are the only ones overdosing on fentanyl? You are aware fentanyl can be smoked, snorted or injected, right? So yes, anyone who uses fentanyl is a moron. Peer pressure is an excuse. I never succumbed to peer pressure to smoke cigarettes, pot or take other drugs.

You responded to me and it had nothing to do with a mad gunman.

    Yes I do.
Mental illness or mental disorder is defined as a pattern of behavior that causes suffering or inability to cope with life. A chemical imbalance meaning a problem with reuptake or proper transmission of neurotransmitters can be mental illness. It can cause other things like Parkinson's disease.

How much do you know about neuroscience and psychology?
    Good thing I didn't deny.

Well, you can rest easy, because if you pick 11,125 people out of the population randomly, 11,124 of them are going to die from something other than being killed in a mass shooting. I knew they were way more rare than the nooz would make you think, but turns out they are even more rare than I would have believed. Your chances of choking to death, drowning, or dying in a bicycle accident are way more likely.

It's too difficult for him. He only understands slur-gibberish but the people across the southern border speak a real language.

9/11 happened while Bush was in office.
The largest biologic attack in history happened while Trump was in office.
I'm far more likely to be shot by a crazy American than a foreigner.

Republicans are spending their days comforting insurrectionists in prison, freaking out about transgenders, and whether the world will end if a kid sees
a nude statue carved by the same guy who painted the iconic Sistine Chapel depiction of God creating Adam .... I'm sure as hell not going
to be lectured about "priorities" by dudes in red hats ... no friggin' way.

Yeah, and while you preach from your ivory tower, safely tucked away in your delusional bubble - frontline workers have to risk their lives because people like you are more worried about pronouns and drag queens struttin' it for school kids.

And Biden told you that he was going to cure cancer if you elected him. Are you still expecting that to happen?

Responding to the OP of this thread:

I live in New York City. I go freely wherever I wish. I don't fear for my safety. I am unarmed. With a background in statistics, I let data, rather than emotional folderol, guide my actions.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

Incorrect. It was YOU who initiated conversation with me (post #39). I did not butt into any conversation you were having. In fact I haven’t initiated any conversation with you in a long time.
