During my absence I have been angering people on facebook, it really is boring compared to this great forum.

I posted that "I support the rights of the group to build the mosque/community center at ground zero but feel that it would be a really bad political decision. That building would be a stick in the eye of a large majority of the American people."

That post lead to a huge discussion with several different Muslims accusing me of hating Islam and a racist intolerance of their beliefs.

I was informed by 2 of them specifically that 9-11 was planned by a satanic cult called the Illuminati and carried out to worship satan. This attack also gave the Illuminati a reason to attack Muslim nations.

I was also informed that no Muslim has ever carried out a terrorist attack.

The Illuminati own Israel and 80% of the people that live there are satan worshipping fake Jews.

I know that I am basically ignorant in regards to the practicing of the faith, rituals and doctrines. But how can people actually believe the type things these 2 did. Not a single Muslim that was in the discussion (15 at one point) would rebuke or deny that what these 2 were saying. Is that because it is a common belief within the Muslim religion?

    are you dumb?

if you arent you should be able to ignore the clueless. You are just as bad as those who suggested the illuminati did this.

Did you rebuke or deny anything that they said?

Wow, so much for any type intelligent thought in your post.

I admitted to them that Barack was the leader of a satanic cult called the democratic party but that I had no idea who the Illuminati where.

I have to agree. Honestly I don't think there should be any muslims in America, and letting them have a building there is insane.

Muslims rarely are willing to publically condemn their fellow muslims no matter how crazy they come off. That is part of the reason for the lack of resistance to Bin Laden's sect.

This makes it hard to believe that the general muslim population is against terrorism.

The reality is that a combination of fear, apathy, hatred of confrontation and a belief that whatever happens must be the will of Allah ends up with them unwilling to challenge their fellows.

Bin Laden was condemned even before he was known in America, the problem is that you can't speak Arabic and you only watch your country's media, not my problem if you were an ignorant.

No that is because if muslim A is flat out lying to you, muslim B has a duty per the Quran to back up the lie muslim A is telling you, the non believer or kaffir.

Yes, lying to non muslims is just A-OK according to the Quran.

Condemned by who, when, where, and most importantly what authority does this condemnation carry?

15 of the 19 9/11 attackers came from Saudi Arabia. Did you know any of them?

There have been plenty of condemnations of terrorist attacks coming from Muslims all over the world. This particular Imam personally condemned the attacks of 8/11. He was used in George Bush's outreach program to Muslim nations all over the world. He spoke a eulogy at Daniel Perle's funeral.

He's a good person like all but a tiny fraction of Muslims. Fred Phelps and his clan don't represent all Christian, do they?

And your point is??? What does that have to do with 9/11??? Oh, I see you just have to put down Christianity in some way, and this is your biggest pinnacle. So one justifies the other. What a stupid post.

Show me a link that Tim McVeigh was a Christian. By the way, your post is saying what? Muslims can collapse building because "christians" did? Justification is a key component of left leaning arguments.

This is a community center much like a YMCA. You cannot see ground zero from this community center. You cannot see the community center from ground zero.
Moreover, there is an actual mosque that is only two blocks farther from the the site of the community center.

There will be rooms for prayer in the community center, but calling it a mosque is like calling a hospital a church because it has a chapel.

So what is the big deal and the urgency for them to put it there?

Tim McVeigh was an atheist/agnostic. He said Science was his religion.

I'm saying that every religion has its fundamentalists cults that hold far out of the mainstream beliefs and some that actually act on those beliefs.

Timothy McVeigh was raised Catholic and still held those beliefs. Read a book.

Tim McVeigh was a Christian. So was the murderer of George Tiller. Jim D. Adkisson, who murdered two and wounded seven in a Unitarian church, was a Christian. And, Jim Jones was a doozy.
