I would be happy to vote for my first Republican; Mitt Romney.

I think he has the power to pull a lot of undecideds in.

The far right NEEDS to compromise if they truly want Obama out. It's the only chance to unseat Obama, run a moderate Republican. Sometimes you need to compromise, but that's up to the Republicans.

Chances are very good he'll be reelected. For the reasons you've listed plus he's shown he's strong on security. He's bombed AQ in Pakistan, killed Osama and there hasn't been a domestic terrorist attack on his watch.

Its very difficult for an incumbent President to get re-elected with such a high unemployment rate
No former Governor running for President has ever lost an election since 1948.Better pray a former Governor doesnt get the nomination
Obama has a record to defend now.He cant run on "yes we can" and "Hope & Change"
With the economy in shambles, high deficits, highest unemployment rate since FDR,record spending and deficits,Obamacare, hes going to be on the defense and hes going to have to explain what hes doing wrong to the American people, and hes going to have to convince the American people WHY we should give him 4 more years.Pleasing the blacks, hispanics and other groups isnt going to be enough, its the independents, people that are worried about the economy ,taxes ,and jobs, and they do outnumber the everything else.If the American voters are convinced that 4 more years will be nothing but the same thing, then he doesnt stand a chance.Right now, Gallup poll shows him
in favor 48% to a GENERIC Republican opponent at 43%,and thats a no name opponent. If that generic opponent ends up being a heavy hitter, than that number will rise.Majority of Americans are already sick and tired of Big Government already.
its not going to be a cake walk for Obama like people think.

yes,but killing Osama didnt fix our economy. by 2012,if the economy gets even worse before it gets better, its not looking good .
Hes pretty much followed Security policies placed by the Bush Administration throughout his Presidency,Patriot Act,etc. He wont be able to run on that alone.
And once he starts mentioning"To make America Great,we must invest.",(invest=spending),this is going to make alot of fiscally minded voters cringe due to an already bloated debt and an already too big of a Government.
And his plan to raise taxes on people that make $250,000 a year and more is going to turn off alot of voters as well.

More than likely because there isn't a Conservative candidate that has much appeal to the left and left leaning.

I believe that Obama fans are pretty hardcore(especially those who are clueless and voted for Obama for the wrong reasons), and it wouldn't matter much what Obama were to do, they will stick with him. They will stick with him because they despise the opposition that much, even if the opposition produced a candidate that is good for the country.

Same old story... the pendulum swings...

Believe it or not the one thing that might make OBarry stumble next time around is a thorough investigation of his "Long Form Birth Certificate". If people have enough time to look at it, they'll realize that he's not eligible to be POTUS, nor was he eligible prior which would make all of his signings into law bogus. And Obamacare is a trap anyway and needs to be exposed and abolished.

If I was high on meth, and shooting heroin into my eyeball while being sodomized by Abe Lincoln I might take this statement seriously for a second only because I wouldn't have had enough time to bludgeon myself to death with a tuba.

If a viable candidate came along from either party who could get government growth and spending under control (and not just talk about it) they'd probably own the election.

    Dont matter Catch, he will take it and they will join in..What I am worried about is the Repubs and this medicare thing. The Libs are lying for the votes and took upstate, they keep this up and they will get clobbered. You can not explain an entire plan to the ignorant public, they wont listen. All they know is;;;

    TOUCH MY MEDICARE???? :omfg:

I just find it sooo hard to believe they are this stupid,,I cant. What Jerks!!

Both sides play the Medicare card, they know no one really understands the plans put for by both parties. I'm glad you support a more moderate plan, and are politically aware of what's going on, but we've come to expect that from you.

It'll be interesting to see how the GOP primary goes, hopefully you're right and more moderate candidates approach the lead and eventual nomination.

There is nothing moderate about a plan that turns medicare into a subsidy for the health insurance companies.

The GOP like to toss the word "entitlement" around constantly when talking about medicare. And that's just goes to show how dishonest they are on the subject. Every working stiff in America pays into medicare every payday. It's not a freebie if you paid for the benefit.

Not to mention the fact there are a lot of other areas in the budget that should be slashed before touching anything that Americans have paid for like SSI or Medicare.

And don't even get me started on the tax cuts for the rich and corporations that Ryan threw in their as well.

As I said, there's not a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing moderate about the Ryan plan. It's nothing less than a blatant attack on the middle class.

Obama has been the most mainstream president we have seen in the last 50 years, but the loons on the right will continue their nonsense just as they did with Clinton.

The political right regurgitates all sorts of ignorance about his record and how radical he is, but the facts don't bear any of it out.

I am a moderate and when I see the GOP nominate someone who is intelligent, articulate, level headed with a core of decent beliefs and behavior I will give them a look. The fact that there are no conservatives with the majority of those qualities makes this a moot point.

The loons that actually think Christie or Rubio would have a prayer have lost all touch with reality.

The best thing for the country would be to save the money that would be spent on this election and focus on solving real problems.

Bush was much worse than Obama. To suggest otherwise is insane.

I am not happy with those Candidates at all, but...it's what we have right now. I do believe others will enter, still early. If it winds up Mitt ,,,meh, I can live with it. It would be funny if the Left went after his faith however, rolling out Wright would be a riot. Cant you just see it??
