Can anyone tell me what "job bills" the Gop has passed since the midterms.

I've been searching everywhere but I can't find any job creation bills that the GOP have passed. In fact, I can't even find any attempts to pass any. But I found several instances of them loading up legislation, that might have created jobs, with so many amendments there's no way it would pass. The EDA Reauthorization Bill that Barbara Boxer sponsored, is a good example.
Just having a really difficult time finding any such efforts on the GOP part.

There is no such thing as a JOBS BILL. Congress has no power to MAKE JOBS APPEAR.

Most people are intelligent enough to understand this. Most people.

I take you didn't bother to read the OP.

    * edit *
...unless you're saying it's the GOP's mindset that congress can't pass bills create jobs.

Congress does not create jobs. It does help create an environment where jobs will be created or, as with the liberals, not. Raising taxes, threatening to raise taxes, increasing spending constantly, do not create an environment that encourages business to increase employment.

Helping unions destroy business and having a president who brags about his desire to bankrupt industries aren't a big plus either.

The GOP in the House has been involved in trying to deal with the debt limit, the deficit, and the lack of a budget. It's too bad the liberals aren't.

Is that what the GOP candidates campaigned on?

Unlike liberals, I don't think all GOP candidates goosestep together. If you are trying to be subtle, and are suggesting they campaigned on jobs, that's fine. For the last few weeks they've been trying to convince liberals that unrestrained spending is bad for jobs as are rising taxes.

What's subtle about a direct question? Either they campaigned on jobs or not.
They certainly didn't campaign on holding up a routine house keeper measure, like raising the debt limit. Nor, holding this countries solvency hostage as a some sort of political ploy to get their way.

Obama doesn't want jobs. He wants poor people begging government for more.

The EDA Reauthorization legislation, eh? Let me guess-- more govt jobs?

So-- the Dems had it all--Congress, Senate and presidency for the last two years but now you want to know what the Republicans of the House are going to do???? That's funny. Especially when this administration and this Senate have offered nothing--nor do their supporters expect them to. Sad.

It's not the govt's place to create jobs. Private business creates jobs.
Govt can only create govt jobs - leading to bigger govt and more cost to the taxpayer.

It IS govt's obligation to NOT create regulations and laws that inhibit job growth.

Honestly, Jazzman, this is basic stuff you should know.

Yeah, so basic it's absurd to presume a person doesn't know.
I didn't invent the term "jobs bill". Maybe next time you should read the OP before spouting off like an idiot.

No, I don't recall anyone campaigning on a "jobs bill". I don't know what a "jobs bill" would be? Maybe the current King thinks he can make a law saying businesses have to hire people but his preference is to raise taxes and hire government employees. The government doesn't create jobs, does it. It can destroy jobs as Obama has shown but it doesn't create jobs. It can create a climate that encourages the private sector to make jobs.

    Here what they ran on.
This is text from the GOPs so-called Pledge To America that the GOP ran on in the midterms.

All through out that document the Republicans use the term "create jobs".
Perhaps you had better write John Boehner and let him know the government doesn't do that.

Republicans do not want this country to create any jobs as long as Obama is president. They want to make Obama look bad on the economy so that they can get another Republican in the office of the President. All you have to do is listen to Fox news with Hannity, O'Rielly, Beck and Huckabee, and on radio listen to the raciest Rush Linbaugh. This people would rather see this country go over a cliff, then to give any support to Obama.

Republicans keep saying that the 3% of the billionaires in this country are the one that create all the jobs in this country and that they should not pay any taxes. That is a bunch of BS by the Republicans. Just look at how many jobs Fiorina CEO of Hewlett Packertt sent to India. It was something like 35K jobs that Americans could have had in this country, but she and thousands of other companies are shipping their businesses to other countries to avoid paying the higher wages in this country. Yet the Republicans are protecting them from paying any taxes and helping to bring the defecit down. Caterpillar CEO was also bragging about building a new shop in China creating 15K jobs. This has to stop if the U.S. is ever going to be the country it used to be and keep our companies in this country. Cut the tax breaks for any company that flys the coop. Reward companies that keep the shops in this country and create jobs.

This is just leftist hackery. Here's the deal: generally speaking (and doing so more confidently with this latest infusion of TEA Partiers), the present Republicans largely understand that the jobs that matter are the jobs that the private sector will create. That means that the Government isn't going to order corporations to start hiring and investing: all that Government can do is be fiscally responsible, and as pro-business as possible.

That starts with Cut, Cap and Balance. That was a jobs bills. Reid declared it DOA. It really doesn't matter what you think Republicans want or don't want: what Republicans know will actually work to create jobs in this country are actions that will never survive Reid, much less Obama.

Actually, that's just a bunch of BS by you. Unless you want to prove your contention (which you will not, because you cannot).

Um...Republicans are - correctly - recognizing that the reason that companies send work overseas is because of the high level of taxes, and only your complete vacancy of knowledge on the subject prevents you from seeing that as well. If you want HP to stop outsourcing, then support lower taxes, and far fewer stupid regulations. BTW: Caterpillar is selling a ton of equipment overseas. Their 15K jobs in China helps us here, you know. The Chinese help America when they buy CAT products.

    Reward? With higher taxes?

The best "Job's Bills" are to reduce government spending and regulation.

The house passed a bill terminating the Obamacare, which contains a batch of job killing regulations, many waiting to be converted from "law" to regulation.

The house passed a budget, reducing spending.

    Both, things they campaigned on.

Congress can't create jobs, nor can any government. They can only get out of the way and stop writing 600 regulations a month that stop job creation.

Now just think about what the Republicans want to do. They want to cut most government spending. OK, so they cut military bases. How many jobs will be lost there. They cut the budget on all military contractors from developing new weapons and modern fighter jets. Now that is going to put a lot of people out of work. Again, no creation of jobs, just laying people off good paying jobs. Now they are also in favor of busting Unions which protect the rights of employees, getting them good benefits, decent wages and protect the employee from the employer taking unfair practices against them. So I don't see any benefit from the Republicans on that issue. Then they want Republican governors to make their states Right to Work Laws. Again that is Union busting and they might create a few minimum wage jobs, but keep the people working those jobs in the poverty section.

They want to eliminate Medicare and for you to buy your own insurance? How can a person making minimum wages afford to buy his own insurance? They want to invest Social Security funds into the stock market just like the 401K. Now is that a good thing? Just look at how people have lost trillions of dollars in the last few years.

So all you college kids that think that the Republicans are trying to create jobs? Give me an example as to how their ideas will create jobs.

Bush had the white house for eight years and he gave the billionaires the tax cuts to create jobs, and it did create jobs, but not in this country. It created jobs over seas. So right there were eight years of tax exemptions given to the rich for nothing. No Jobs created by the Republicans with their theory that giving tax breaks to the rich creates jobs.

"Republican leaders are reminding President Obama that the House of Representatives has passed more than a dozen "pro-growth" measures to spur job creation, but with one exception, Senate Democrats have refused to consider any of those bills."
    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/republicans-remind-obama-democrats-are-b

Jobs and the economy aren't an issue for the liberals because they're busy promoting a socialist agenda. Now, with an election coming, they're in something of a panic.

The liberal solution is borrow more money, spend more money, increase regulations, increase taxes, and don't ever let the crisis go to waste.

(*)(*)(*)(*) those obstructionists Democrats, the Party of NO.

The "Jobs bill" that Obama is wanting to get passed is nothing more than political theater that would produce as many as the last bill... 0 growth.

It's nothing more than a scam to send billions of dollars to the unions. 174 billion of the tax credit is garbage. Companies get a $1,500 tax credit but gain a $25,000 liability. It DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! Why would companies rush to hirer employees when it adds to the liability and the tax credit could only be for a year? It's moronic economics at its worst.

Plus, giving a $1,500 tax credit when in 2014, the health care liability could surpass $4,000 per employee offers no comfort for companies to hirer.

The "Jobs Bill" is nothing more than a scam and the liberals should see it for its face value. They PASSED the same bill just 2 years ago and it failed horrifically because there is no company in their right mind who will be hiring.... Just to hirer!!!
