USAF hands down no contest. The US has the f22 raptor the greatest fighter jet in he world and the JSF is going to ne awesome as well. the f22s are grounded because we have no need for them now however if we were in a war with russia i think we could get them back up in the air rather quickly, Also the us has the f15 which is one of if not the best multi roll plane in existence ascwell as the f16 which beats any multi role plane the russians have. also news flash the americans have a harrier as well.
From your post, you'll obviously very patriotic.......don't think things will ever be as one sided as you think. Notice, you dont mention any Chinese fighters.
China's air force is 3rd rate. It consists mostly of Russian aircraft. They can't even design and build their own jet engines.
LOL! Why would they be worth mentioning? Can you give me an example of any indigenous Chinese aircraft in production that is a match for the F-22? Or even a vague approximation?
How many more times does this need to be said in the thread? THEY ARE GROUNDED BECAUSE OF ISSUES WITH THE OBOGS. Jesus tap dancing Christ. You rebounded yourself with the second bold statement.
Supposedly they have one, but I laugh my ass off every time someone tries to tell me that it is stealth. It is probably covered with lead paint too.
The Chinese have no business ethics either. Whatever technology is sold to them is cloned and/or reversed engineered. Eventually that will catch up to them as even Russia will be reluctant to sell them advanced aircraft technology. They'll turn around and clone it and keep it as their own.
I am also betting it is not using indigenous technology. So it has questionable stealth, crappier radar, no supercruise (or even supersonic capability at all), and is far less agile. Oh yeah, and it is not even in production yet as of 2011...this is just a prototype. Color me unimpressed.
From Stratfor: "Analysis Negotiations over the sale of Russian fighter jets to China have broken down over Russian concerns about Chinese “technology cloning,” Russian media reported March 10, 2011 citing defense ministry officials. More than just an isolated disagreement, the dispute represents a larger shift in the trading dynamic between the two countries as Moscow becomes increasingly concerned about the pace of Chinese reverse-engineering."
Yeah, pretty much. China is not a threat to the United States' safety. It is time for people to stop pretending that they are.
Just because their tech is (*)(*)(*)(*)ty now doesnt mean it will always remain so. The Chinese are not retarded...if we let down our guard and get lazy or cheap, they WILL catch up eventually. In that respect they remain a threat, and we need to make sure we retain our technological superiority.
I was being sarcastic ......mind you the Chinese may have a fleet of very good fighters in 2010, with engines that are reliable. Anyway, no one knows how good Chinese pilot training is.......though personally i would always back the Americans in an air war to win.
Good point 'Colonel K'...........as the American economy is struggling and the Chinese are getting stronger economically and militarily every day.........by 2020 things could be potentially a lot more dangerous for the USA.
