Bad teeth and oil spills, indeed.

Thoughts? Personally, I was surprised Russian wasn't higher on the list. I love the way their women sound on those vodka commercials... :date:

Since the only British accent I hear on regular basis is Dr Who, it's no turn on.

It must be the reason why Silvio Berlusconi is able to get his leg over on so many occasions.

I don't like the British accent either. Glad to see the Aussie accent somewhere in the middle, though!

I don't mind the English accent. It makes anything sound intelligent (unless it's a Cockney accent). But Italian, Spanish, French, and Russian are all strong.

    Oklahoma is not....Mid-Western.

I've worked with a couple of British sales reps. They got all the gold and it was because their accent was soooo adorable.

I've never gotten that impression from the English. I have from Germans, though.

As odd and disturbing as that picture may be... What does that have to do with Britons? I live in California and, trust me, we have plenty of "interesting" ones here. And none of them have English accents.

Ah. Well, like I said, we have some individuals of unique persuasions here in California, as well. That's not just an English phenomenon.

    Who made fun of Oklahoma?

Yeah, on second glance, I think the posers were actually in LA. Point is... if it's weird, you can usually find it on dailymail.co.uk. ;)

Are we talking about 'British' or 'English' here?! Just thought I'd mention it!

The two are synonymous, as far as Americans are concerned. I would assume, specifically, well-off or educated English accents, just from the way that they characterize the British accent. However, I doubt that the results would change much for the positive if other regional accents were introduced. The "British" ranking would probably drop off the scale entirely, if that were the case. =/

That kind of dull, lifeless, home counties accent (from central southern England), you mean - most people in the UK don't like it much either!

I think you might be wrong there. There are some less attractive accents around the UK, but some of them are soft, lilting and beautiful.
