Is white pride synonomous with racism

On another thread two posters are drifting off topic arguing about white pride and racism. The one poster said start a thread and stay on topic.

So here it is.
What do people think?

Personally I think the one guy is a racist and trying to justify it by claiming white pride.

But in general - is white pride synonomous with racism?
Is black pride synonomous with racism?

Is Irish pride synonomous with alcoholism? (heh-heh, had to slip that on in there)

 

I think there's a difference between white pride and white supremacy. White pride is no different from black pride or gay pride or any other type of pride. But western culture is retardedly hypocritical about this in singling out white pride as somehow being different.

 

This about sums it up.

 

Taking pride in something you just happened to be born into as opposed to, say, an actual accomplishment, sounds foolish.

Maybe that's just me that feels that way.

 

No, it is synonymous with Collectivism. But it's really no different than people with brown eyes starting a Brown Eyes Pride Club. It's just that there is a long history of people being persecuted because of the color of their skin, and no history of people being persecuted becuase of the color of their eyes. Either way, it once again boils down to the fact that people are (*)(*)(*)(*)ing retarded.

 

So the modern KKK which claims only to engage in white pride is not a racist organization anymore?

The Black Panthers have also been accused of racism, by your logic this is also simple racial pride?

 

No. You obviously misunderstood me. It's inherently no different than Brown Eyed People getting involved in a brown eyed club and hating blue eyed people / killing them, etc. Except instead of the color of eyes, we're talking about the color of skin. My point is that racists are (*)(*)(*)(*)ing retarded, no matter whether we're talking about the KKK or New Black Panthers.

 

There is nothing wrong with white pride. Just like there is nothing wrong with black pride.
It's when you start saying that you are better than the other races that it becomes ignorant supremacy.

 

I don't keep up with the KKK. I honestly couldn't tell you what their message is today. They are so absurdly irrelevant now.

But the Black Panthers and the New Black Panthers are not the same thing. The original Black Panther party from the '60s was more of a civil rights group. The New Black Panther Party is a racist hate group. They openly call for the killing of white people. It should also be noted that the original Black Panthers have publicly stated they have no affiliation with the New Black Panthers. Basically, the New Black Panthers are just a bunch of racist punks who stole their name and formed a hate group with it.

 

So they are not affiliated with racial pride in your opinion.
Do they use the idea to hide behind while they preach racism?

Or do they openly express their racism?

 

Trying to define 'racism' is a pretty meaningless task, but I'd say taking pride in the conditions of your birth is stupid. White pride, black pride, all of it. At least 'gay pride' implies the courage to come out of the closet: you can't act upon or closet your race, so why should race be relevant to one's self-worth?

If people are born gay, then why would taking pride in your sexual preference be any different than taking pride in the race you were born with?

I can't disagree. I certainly don't find any pride in being a straight white male, it just happened.

 

Why is stating your pride in your race only called racism if you are WHITE.

I am not going around burning crosses, nor am I enticing violence against "blacks" i am just stating a simple truth.

Coming from a brown person (Mexican) I am here to tell all white people that I (and many other brown and black people) have no issues if you want to take pride in your white heritage. I typically just take pride in my own accomplishments but that is the downside to being logical I suppose. It does look fun when I see people going around yelling 'black power' or 'brown pride' but silly at the same time. I liken it to running naked down a busy street, while I can understand the urge to want to do such a thing I could never bring myself to do it.

Probably much like in Australia, Americans are brainwashed from day 1 to have irrational knee-jerk reactions when it comes to all things white people and race relations. Criminals in America seem to be one of the last standing rational people when it comes to this topic. People who think it's racist to have "white pride" suddenly change their position after a cycle of prison. Not that I have been to prison I just see through the bs.
