Property rights are human rights. Humans own property. All rights are based upon the right to own property. Food, clothing and shelter are property.
Let's see. Your business--property--is taken by the government and then your home--property--is taken by the government and how is that "life" thing going? Property rights are the rights a human has, or had, in owning property. What are human rights worth when your property rights have been taken?
I'll go with an "unalienable" one - Liberty - the freedom to make my own decisions and choose my own destiny as much as possible, as opposed to having them shoved down my throat by ******* bureaucrats.
The dichotomy between personal liberties and property rights is a false one. http://www.humanrights.is/the-human...anintroduction/definitionsandclassifications/
first off the only way this would every be able to be impleted fully would be to have a one world government..... billions of people live off of 2.50 or less a day...
my view is that life is distinct from property do you see the difference between the 'right to life' and the 'right to property'?
I don't, both are things one person should not take from another. They are both fundamental human rights. I don't see how anyone can be against property rights. When a person works and creates something not allowing them to keep the fruits of their labor is slavery. Are you arguing killing and slavery are both not bad things? In fact in some cases killing someone is probably more human then slavery, why prolong suffering? On a side note this doesn't belong in the current events section.
nothing i wrote suggests that i'm against property rights this is about the hierarchical relationship and distinctions between fundamental human rights and property rights
I thought we were discussing 'right to life' and the 'right to property'? But, you seem to be unwilling to give us your view on the issue. Why the fandance? _
as i said, i view fundamental human rights as distinct from property rights do you disagree with that?
Don't I 'own' my life? Is it not my property that I have rights to? If you take it or damage it aren't you held accountable?
Neither is superior as they are not mutually exclusive. The notion of competing rights is a fallacy. We all have the same and equal rights to life and liberty.
