That's all there is to say. You pretend to care about the whales but have not thought out the process.
Hehe, it's just one of those popular Liberal "act with your heartstrings" stances. Railing about the plight of the poor, well fed, medically cared for Orca because it's popular to do...while making every excuse in the book as to why the cat you have at home, living in your human dwelling to feed your need for companionship is somehow different. And the excuse of "weve been doing it for thousands of years" never fails to make me chuckle. Why don't we just look at it the same way with the Orca then, and just remind ourselves even the cats 1000 years of domestication had to have started with a day 1 at some point.
Of course it is different. Is a glorified swimming pool the Orca's natural environment? No, it is not. Is a domestic home the natural environment of a domestic cat? Yes it is. A medically cared-for and well-fed prisoner is still a prisoner. Animals cannot speak for themselves or defend their position; does that give humans a right to imprison them and deny them their freedom, just so a few dumb kids can watch them doing tricks? I'll repeat what I said, in the interest of clarity. Animals are not a source for amusement, exploitation or ornamentation. Screw around with nature at your peril: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtQ62gE7sW4"]Killer Whale Kills Trainer At Sea World Orlando - YouTube[/ame]
Did you ask the Orca, or are you just inventing it's position? We both know the answer already. Cats dont live in Human houses natrurally, you can hide behind the "domestic" angle all you want...doesn't change it. You have in your possession an animal that doesnt belong there to feed your need for companionship. Or to make you feel comfortable and loved. Let that poor cat go. I dont have video to match yours, but the story will have to do. That "domesticated" animal messed this guy up. http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/cleveland/news/article_3f8b7022-782a-11e0-b12d-001cc4c002e0.html
Actually domesticated cats do. That's why they are called domesticated. Ever tried training a wolf? They're dogs too but you wouldn't want one in your house, chewing on your tasty leg when Fido just wants to eat your furniture and be taken for walks. I provide my cat with food, shelter and veterinary treatment. I do not own it, it is not a 'posession' and it is free to leave any time it chooses to, as many domestic cats do. The Orca in question doesn't have that option. As for the Orca you'll want to deny that it was taken from its natural, wild environment and imprisoned, against its natural instincts, solely to provide you with your thrills. Won't you?
Why would I deny it? Of course it was...as was the Cat..the Dog ..any other number of creatures that man makes excuses for keeping as pets. As long as they are being treated well...what is the problem? Likely they'll be doing better than in the wild because , as I have already mentioned, their "natural habitat" doesn't really exist anymore in mans world. By the way, dont miss the late Edit I added above. Those domesticated cats can mess you up just as an Orca can.
The man stabbed the cat? What did 10 pounds of cat do to the guy that irritated him so much? You might want to take a look at my edit too. (*)(*)(*)(*) animals off and they'll defend themselves.
Not sure when the stabbing happened..whether it started the fight, or if it happened when the guy realized the cat was winning...but either way, it highlights that the word "domesticated" really doesn't mean much. It's an animal, with animal instincts and behaviors. Much like an Orca, it may tolerate, and possibly enjoy some human interaction...but maybe someday it wont, and you'll get (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up. Of course they will...even ones we want to call "domesticated". "Domesticated" is a word to make animal captors feel ok with their choice of bringing in an animal for their personal enjoyment. I don't throw this out there just at you, I am also included..I have 2 Dogs and a couple cats myself. I'm just honest with myself about what it is. I dont make excuses about it's Domestic status, or that I leave the door ajar or any of that to try and change what I am doing. And I Dont try and rail against the same thing being done to a different animal by a Zoo or Park. As long as they are treated well of course.
Hmmm...and HOW did they become domesticated? Oh that's right...by us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolves_as_pets_and_working_animals
