He admitted his ignorance and claimed he didn't understand all the specifics to what he technically did wrong and was given a pass. Then he admitted guilt, because he knew he did wrong, then republicans determined it wasn't really that bad on a circumstance to circumstance basis since most of them and their democrat counterparts had done much worse and were also given passes. But 80 times his ethics came under scrutiny, where he was not found not guilty but given a pass if he promised never to do it again, so he went out and done other things instead to test the limits of his integrity, to see what else he could get away with. The important thing is he admitted his guilt and rightfully so, resigned, so as to not embarrass his party or the position he was in any longer. That was the first honorable thing he did in all the fiasco that was his political life. Like your idol Judge Judy says, pleading no contest doesn’t relieve you of guilt. At least Newt did the right thing and finally admitted his guilt. That is the only good thing I can say about the man. Now answer the other questions. Did they give him his money back? and... Do you really want to give this self admitted POS executive privilege? Really???
What part of ALL charges were dropped but One,have you a hard time understanding. Repeat after me ... I'm sorry ... I dint mean it ... Michael Savage was right. Liberalism IS a Mental Disorder
Good lord if they (blind delusional partisans) are not going to hold him accountable for the shenanigans he admitted too while in office under oath, why in the world would you expect them to hold him accountable for his other most likely criminal ventures as a private contractor/lobbyist for the nations most hazardous, bipartisan scheme. Of course he was on the payroll for Freddie, probably Fannie too if you probe it good enough, but he is a neo-con artist republican, so he can do no wrong. Kinda like you are with Obummer Margot.
Of course all Gingrich has to remind the public is how former Senate Leader Tom Daschle who Was a Lobbyist after getting voted out of office and was trying to get an Obama Cabinet post, tried the Old Liars approach about being a Lobbyist. All Gingrich has to do is state facts. All the myriad lies and sneaky little back room graft Democrats are known for but this Puppydog Lamstream hasn't the cajones to report.
What part of he pleaded stupidity and was given a pass don't you understand. The ethics committee let him slide. They even said they needed to be more strict when things like this came to their attention in the future. Say it however you want it doesn't mean he wasn't guilty of the accusations brought against him, only that they were willing to give him a break. 79 f(*)(*)(*)ing times!!! In any case one should be enough and should be grounds for automatic dismissal. They shouldn't be given the opportunity to resign. None of them, I don't care what party they are involved with. And what part of, I am not a liberal, do you not understand? I hold everybody in an elected position of power to the same standard, that obviously means I am not a sheeple for either of the corporate owned parties. Try it some time. Maybe if more people had that sort of self control and integrity the country wouldn't be going to hell in a hand basket.
I think many here would take you more seriously if you simply used the word " Stupidly " instead " Stupidity " in yer very first sentence.Kinda has a nice ring to it ... Bwa Haa ha ha ha ha ha ha h
Whatever charges they tried to bring against him were totally made up. That is the way the democrat attack machine works. Make completely specious attacks against a republican, force him to resign, and then he can prove he is innocent later (just like Sarah Palin). Democrats who get convicted get censured at worst, then re-elected. There is a complete double standard when it comes to republicans. How many democrats are actually convicted felons or tax cheats or criminals or married to criminals?
Fellas, just stop it! Newt Gingrich ain't going to get the nomination. The only possible candidate that is able to win from President Obama, is Jon Hunstman. We all know it, so when are y'all going to admit it?! Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich Agree on Climate Change [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-NIbZXNRns"]Nancy & Newt Agree On Climate Change[/ame]
I think Newt gave a couple good answers as to this ad. First,it was one of the stupidest things he's ever done and also he felt it important to at least try and understand and go along with something that could have been in the interest of all.Meaning a cleaner and safer environment.
Foolardi, I'm not going to lie -- I can't stand Newt Gingrich. But let's be honest here, Foolardi. Mr. Gingrich tries to paint this ad of as some sort of "impulsive" undertaking -- he wrote an entire book on the subject for pete's sake! And we all know you don't write a book in a week or a month.
No doubt they are, the rules are completely different for each party and there shouldn't be party rules in the first place, they should be congressional rules. And they should all be held to same standard, period. Parties shouldn't have any power in congress, or the voting process, or any other authority other than an elected candidates ability to have the 'r' or 'd' next to their name and the ability to cast a vote on legislation. Political parties are non-profit organizations to evade taxes, established to control the election process to maintain absolute control. They need to be held responsible for their meddling in the election process and disbanded/fined/lose tax free status whenever improprieties are proven just like any other criminal organization would. Newt was involved in a money laundering scheme, and all the evidence proved beyond a doubt that illegal transactions were being made. The charges were not found to be imaginary. Newt claimed stupidity or ignorance of the law (a frickin law maker is allowed to plead ignorance of the law, but a private citizen isn't allowed such a luxury, go figure) and "claimed", he didn't understand the complexities involved, even though money was exchanging hands blatantly. He should have been charged with money laundering, and the nonprofit involved should have lost their tax free status immediately (according to the law), but instead he was given a pass if he promised not to do it again, and then the charges were dropped. That's not found innocent. He admitted the charges were legitimate, he was just too stupid to know better. That is not does not fit the description of baseless charges, that's failure to act on the part of the ethics committee and the federal prosecutor. Most likely because almost all of them are doing the exact same thing, just not so recklessly as he was. I'm sure he was educated on how not to be so reckless in the future by his fellow criminal (or what would be for anybody else) accomplices. For every one of these dirt bags getting a pass ten are probably never even challenged with their criminal, or at minimum ventures in unethical activities. You people are amazing, you don’t even want to admit the reality of the situation, but you want to give them the opportunity to do it again. Unfreakinbelievable.
Yea and for crying out loud it was Tuesday. By Friday, his palm was buttered enough (now that he is well educated in the laundering of illegal campaign contributions) to flip on his flop as usual, so fool and others could hear what they wanted to hear from the Newtmeister. If it wasn't such a sad state of moral deficiency this would be hilarious funny in a political cartoon. Unfortunately the fact that so many are willing to give this idiot the keys to the WH is amazing. Haven’t we had enough idiots in the last few decades to last us the rest of eternity?? Hmmm?
Jesus H Christ, Buck! Every time you post to this thread, it sends shock through my system. ...scrolling down the homepage I'm blinded by... Newt Gingrich BuckNaked LOL!!
However since then we have heard and noticed that Global Warming was just a scheme. To usher in carbon credits and for New World Order freaks like Al Gore to make gazillions on the back of every american who pays for electricity. Why was the Phrase -Global Warming- changed to -Climate Change-.Because it's far easier to manipulate and expect climate to trend up or down and therefore make a case. Most of the record highs were from years ago.Take yesterday. The record high for my area was in the late 1800's.Climate constantly goes thru cycles. Like the dust bowl years of the 1930's.
Let's just start with the first lie. "The man was brought up on more ethics violations than anybody in history, and this is the guy you want to have executive privilege? Didn't you learn anything from the last three executive privilege presidents?" Have any proof for that? Will there be any need for executive privilege after President Obama or will the Imperial President just continue to ignore Congress as he pleases?
Not sure what you're asking here Patrick. Can I prove what exactly? The original intent of executive privilege was to allow the president to make changes in his branch according to how things would run, and to declare days of recognition like hog callers day. It was never meant to be used as a way of bypassing the other two branches of government on a whim. Of course neither side has challenged the way it has been used recently because they want to have the same authority when they have the keys to the WH.
Explain how an " Idiot " ushers in a 40 year transformation in the House.Balances not One,not Two,but Three budgets { a first in Congressional History } and manages to end Welfare as we know it. In contrast Slick Willy so Opposed submitting a balanced budget to match the house he had to submit, not One,not Two but FIVE budgets in order to match the GOP balanced budget plan. Yet did Newt and his New Republicans run around patting themself on the backs as these Obama Drat Democrats do. Admit ... you forgot to take yer Meds today.
I'm no defender of democrats, your attempts tp deflect are meaningless, and your school yard, I know I am but what about you buffoonery does nothing to further or nurture any mature dialogue. My cause is not one for the lesser of two evils like yours seems to be. I am on a quest to point out the insanity of the two party system and how it is the cause for all the problems we have been plagued with today. I'm not on any medications, illegal or otherwise, perhaps you are on too many.
I don't know how to make it more simple since I can't use crayons here. You said, "The man was brought up on more ethics violations than anybody in history, and this is the guy you want to have executive privilege? Didn't you learn anything from the last three executive privilege presidents?" I asked if you had proof, evidence, anything besides a slur.
Patrick he had 84 charges brought up against him, and even though they knew he was guilty by proof of the evidence in a number of the charges they dropped all but 1. You and your buddy fool can play semantics all you like but the general consensus was that Newt violated ethics and brought shame to the party and the office, even though they felt the fine was excessive for the existing charge. Newt, well he was just Newt he admitted guilt of unethical practices, but never admitted to the charges themselves. I guess that was his depends on what the meaning of is “is” moments. He’s about as consistent as a broken clock, but then so it the ethics committee, who rarely hold these political parasites accountable or their wrongdoings. If 84 charges are not a record I will withdraw the comment. It clearly shows that there was evidence to follow through with some of the other charges, but the committee decided to drop them instead. No doubt the reason for such a high fine. He also has the distinction of being the only speaker of the house ever formally charged with ethics violations, so one can only assume they tried to get past this as fast as possible without too much hoopla. If you have any actual evidence that would change my mind I would like to read it, but everything I have read on the subject, from the media or members of both parties says he is a piece of work if not a POS! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/govt/leadership/stories/101198.htm Ethics Committee Drops Last of 84 Charges Against Gingrich By Curt Anderson Associated Press Sunday, October 11, 1998; Page A13
Grover Norquist wrote it. Newt was simply the front man. None of it got passed. None of it. He failed completely in trying to make any of it law. He's a failure looking for a new platform to fail on.
