President Obama Has Yet To Spend Thanksgiving With U.S. Troops Unlike President Bush

For the third year in a row of his presidency, Barack Obama has yet to spend Thanksgiving with the troops at home or abroad like President Bush did. In a time of war, the president should show appreciation and support for his troops by showing up for Thanksgiving dinner and give thanks for their courage and sacrifice. It is a huge morale booster if this were to happen but the president for some reason has yet to do it. In 2008, president elect Obama spent Thanksgiving in Chicago with family and friends. In 2009, president Obama spent Thanksgiving at the White House with family and friends. In 2010, president Obama spent Thanksgiving at the White House with family and friends. This year he will do the same. He did address to the troops with 4 sentences praising them this morning but in essence, he really should go visit the troops in person like President Bush did during wartime. Troop morale is low in the middle east, especially in Afghanistan. Bush's father even ate Thanksgiving with the troops in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War. What is keeping Obama from visiting the troops in person on Thanksgiving? Is it religion? In 2009 he was the first president ever in the Thanksgiving proclamation to omit direct mention of God. bush was a dirty, nasty, leg who was a military wannabe(he could not even show up for drill.)

The president is not a soldier, and, unlike bush I do not want the president to pretend that he is.

 

It's hard for him to be humble and sit where he know's 95% of all the soldiers he is eating with didn't vote for him.

President Bush was a very respected president for being so humbled to be with our soldiers, the military loved and continues to love him to this day, something Obama will never experience.

Bet the children of the servicemen would love to have had their dad at home for Thanksgiving day, but they're learning about giving to others and they can't have everything they want....... but then that's different, isn't it?

 

Shame he could not make drill then isn't it. You would think somebody with the dedication to qualify as a pilot could make drill. Hmmm, something smells fishy.
