I have a 04 Sebering that has not run in a year, they with the optional DOCH motor are a exceptional piece of dog feces. Run from anyone that attempts to give you one. I also have a 1996 ford explorer mildly set up for off the road use. It has over 200,000 miles and runs so silently I sometimes try to start it when its already running. I did replace the tranny as it was shifting funny when I put bigger tires and rims on it. I have a pair of 100 watt pie plate driving lights, (legal street use is 55 watts) and other small goodies including a Kenwood Sat etc raido with a stand alone Punch Amp and good thumping speakers. Even george Jones sounds good now...as george says I am a high tech redneck...

My main ride is a mostly stock 1957 Sportster (a Harley Davidson) ...thats all...

Well the engine is transverse! Not too good for a hemi! Anyway, yeah that's the best thing Chrysler did ie a Hemi. I have always been a ford guy, mustangs those cobra jets and the 429 cammers, all stuff I couldn't afford. I did own a couple of 65 mustangs including one with a inline 6 and a 66 fast back with a toploader 4 spd , 4bbl hi pef heads way back when they didn't fetch 20k and up, then a 68 yellow fastback with a 390 (boat anchor but the forerunner of the mighty 427s) and several others. Today they (GM ford etc) are finally making some cars that surpass the performance of the old muscle cars! I love the new cyote all alum 400 hp naturally aspirated ford engine....ahhhh well love em all! Gotta take bogie the basset for his walk....

    Hemi !.All that means is a Hemi or { spherical domed engine design }
like the Harley Shovelhead motorcycle.Doomed so that the pistons
get a better squish of fuel to the spark and combustion is more
easily spread out er somethin. It's been around for a long time.I know
    it sounds tough,but it :

    T'ain't :megaphone:

actually it is tough. it requires more parts, more material and more engineering.

A few years ago I read up on Hemi design.Because it was making a
comeback. It's been around for more than 100 years.Nothing new there.
It's just a way of efficiently compressing air to the top of a Piston
to better utilize compression ratio's and a better burn or combustion.
Like I said, the word does manage to conjure up notions of Steve McQueen
drving a throaty Mustang with hot cams and double clutching.

real cowl induction does make a difference, so does increasing the number of venturis. <---you have increased flow, with improved throttle response. :nerd:

No it doesn't.Been around since the early days of Grand Prix racing
in 1910." The method is a proven,if somewhat antiquated way to
    make horsepower."
There are other option on the market that don't carry many of this
    system's drawbacks.
Every day,I'll see one them 5.o Mustangs with the funky square
cowl induction and it almost makes me giddy. They SO PASSE.
Ya gotta get with it thar Pal.
Stop breathing Fire and inhaling fumes.

cooler air is denser air. you can't argue with that. it doesn't matter if you drag it off the hood or through the engine compartment in a hose.

well, i'm sure you'll find a way. it'll just be wrong.

(*)(*)(*)(*) jeep is indestructable, used to be Missouri Dept of forestry vehicle running on natural gas, but switched back to gasoline when it was sold at auction, I'm probably the 5th owner. We call it ol' reliable cause it always runs.

You are correct that the hemispherical combustion chamber has been utilised by European motors for the past 110 years. The earliest users were Pipe, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Daimler, Riley, and post-war Jaguar. Americans did not 'discover' the hemispherical combustion chamber until the late 1950s. Chrysler made a big deal of it in the 1960s.

The principle advantage of this type of combustion chamber, is it allows the inlet and exhaust valves to be placed opposite each other, thus facilitating optimum gas flow. The traditional wedge shaped combustion chambers placed the inlet and exhaust valves side by side, which impeded gas flow. An hemispherical combustion chamber is not necessarily the optimum shape for efficient ignition of the mixture, and most proponents of this design utilise further shaping of the hemisphere in order to induce swirl and ensure efficient flame front propagation. BMW is foremost in this design area.

An hemispherical combustion chamber also requires the valves to be at a certain angle to each other, necessitating either twin overhead camshafts, a single overhead camshaft with rocker arms, or an impossibly complex system of pushrods. All of which makes these cylinder heads larger, more complex, and more expensive (but also potentially more efficient).

T.Boone Pickens has spent a few years pleading the cause of
natural gas { which we here in the States have an endless supply }.
He tried to lobby for Truckers to switch to Natural Gas as a way
of seriously weaning us off of fossil fuel.
I saw an Orange County Chopper segment where they installed
a crate { out of the box custom } V-Twin that ran on pure Ethanol.
Meaning it ran much cleaner.Used to be that Ethanol added to gas
had a reputation for fouling Injectors.
Now all Gas has about 10% Ethanol added.

the hemispherical combustion chamber is great thanks to the europeans , they are doing away with rotary engines now from mazda they were a nice innovation

    although loud

Chrysler built a hemi-head aircraft engine (powered a prototype P-47 Thunderbolt) in 1945...the first production hemi was 1951, as the "FirePower Hemi".

Not that complicated...just requires a second rocker shaft to angle the intake valves inward.
