Admittedley, Im not an expert. That being said, as I understand it there was some significant heterogeneities among the religious texts used by early christian sects. As such thete is no doubt in my mind that the bible is a dynamic text written by the hands of mortals. I believe that because the bible was written by the fallible hands of man it is open to some degree of subjective interpretation.... But thats just me.....

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew 7:12&version=KJV

Do you want to be free, or your City/Nation/State to be free--to worship...--according to your heart?

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke 10:25-28&version=KJV

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus 19:34&version=KJV

Do you love other's human rights, as you love yourself?

Life is all about not slaying people for not praying, or bowing down with those who bow down, to Black Stone Idols...

You love freedom, love the freedom that comes from this:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

God asks of man, do not do what these were doing:

"It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War

    these don't explain my questions.
refer back to the questions please.

and here comes the attack :)

    not shocking;
the discussion is blurred with adversity.

the intellect is filled with hatred.
the rage of not being able to answer
    turns into a counter-attack.

    the philosophical and theological questions
    remain unanswered...

but one thing you should know...
i did not attack at all.
you haven't seen me attacking sir, yet.
    and you won't insaAllah.
because Allah (God) orders me to respect other beliefs.
to be patient as much as i can...

i try to be in the parameters of proofs and respect
when i ask questions. i advise you do the same when you answer.

on the other hand, i'm sorry if i offended anyone.
someone with a clear mind can easily perceive that
this was not my intention at all.

we don't need man-made laws to love things.
Allah's (God's) infinite love is enough for us.

and "freedom of speech" as far as i can see in this thread
is for judeo-christians, not for muslims.

"the black stoners, 72 virgin dudes" and you complete the rest
of the package as presented to you on tv...

a big show with high ratings.
show must go on, and you all shall watch it.

    yet another weak attack.
    and boringly, nothing new:
pick bits and pieces of information
and manipulate the flow of the information
    according to your agenda
then serve it to people as a shiny argument.

    what a pity.
you seemed like a reasonable person.
i thought we could discuss in civilized manners,
    without emotions being involved.

    results:
1 my questions are not answered.
2 your hatred -carefully hidden in other threads- came out of the closet.
3 have a good day sir. maybe watch less tv too, if you can.

Yes the Golden Rule, I linked to, does define the purpose of life for a Christian, and a Jew, and I know of a Buddist that would agree...

"what am i doing here on this planet filled with wars and corruption?"

Making more wars and corruption inevitible if you do not have and follow a Golden Rule.

"Life is all about not slaying people for not praying, or bowing down with those who bow down, to Black Stone Idols..."

That is not an attack, except against those who attack others and demand they keep up prayer or bow down to be safe. Maybe you feel guilty or something...? The "..." could have been all about "Christians" who demand you pray in their Public Schools...

"God asks of man, do not do what these were doing:

'It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.'"

That is not an attack, unless you feel guilty or something. If you do not do or would not do what they did, it cannot be an attack.

you should really read the qur'an to see
    who agrees with what.

    on the other hand;
i feel defensive when i sense sinister attacks.
but if you say they aren't attacks, then i'll take it.

again, if you get offended just say so, i will leave the thread.
i don't have an obsession to be right or to humiliate anyone's belief.
    not my intentions at all.

i'm just here to speak the truth as much as i can.
back to subject, please take a look at this:

can you refer to the questions above and maybe
elaborate on how the christianity addresses this
    issue/example presented?

"where is the battle of a soul against evil?"

I may feel it is evil for John Edwards to talk to the dead and bilk old ladies out of their Social Security checks, I may feel it is evil to claim an elephant idol produces more milk than it takes in, but I cannot battle it except with words. A real Christian would rather hide in a catacomb than battle (kill) the LGBT state that persecutes the marrage between a man and a woman.

    "where is self improvement?"

Seek and you shall find it, if you do not look and read even Hawking or Carl Sagan you will never find it; just check Matthew 7. http://kingjbible.com/matthew/7.htm

"a guy may as well kill 1000 men with his bear hands.
then hang himself. but he is saved as long as he believes
in jesus (pbuh) is the son of God?"

No. Satan believes in Jesus, and so could a false prophet.

"where is the battle for a better world?"

Spreading the words of Jesus is for a better world, that is as far as our scary mouths go, only the word is the sword:

"Also if I see an article about Christians being put on trial in a certain country for just simply spreading the word, carrying out their religion, and the accusers themselves make no accusation of the Christians using force, oppression or persecution I will have to look in the Koran to see what it says about forcing religion on others. I would like to know where in the Koran it says that Christians can’t practice their religion, which requires the spreading (not by force) of the word, because if Islam is afraid of the Christian word then Islam is insecure in it‘s beliefs? By understanding the word I can know whether the Islamic country allegedly doing the persecution is following their religion, which can’t be a true religion if it must be forced (a faith is not a faith if it must be forced), and whether those being persecuted were violating their social contract, and then can judge how my country should respond if it‘s citizens are involved." (posted August 30, 2001 10:35 PM)

    "where is the purpose?"

So that squid creature on P3x295 can live and raise his little squid kid in peace.

"where is the justice in that?"

Light speed restrictions on travel prevent Red Stone Idolaters from shoving a rock, chewing gum, and a thin wire filament up their butt in a Salami Bomb test aboard a guild ship at their LAX in the year 10191.

"who will make up for the 1000 men whom the right to live
has been taken from them abruptly?"

Iraq was given parole for murder against my wishes, so I voted for Andre V. Marrou, than Iraq was allowed to violate the UN resolution all the way up to support for Al Quacka attacks against us. The rope that hung the Iraqi leader was the best justice could do after the millions of dead who would be alive if not for him and his Arab League protectors.

"who will pay the price and who will take care of their families?"

Iraq did, so did the Taliban that would not turn over their murderer for justice. Gorby said, "that is far enough," so Saddam got parole for cold blooded murder, so ask the Soviet Union and the guilty Arab League to take care of the families.

"where is the divine justice in this doctrine?"

From memory, very old, check it out:

The laws of man are like a spider's web, they catch the little bugs and let the big bugs go free.

Saddam got away with murder, up till George W. Bush gave him a choice to leave or else, because of millions of Muslims made it happen that way because they did not want to kill their guilty selves.

Meh, that is a stretch and irrelevant. A black hole is region of space of extraordinary density, a gravitational well. The only issue that physics has in describing the nature of the very core of a black hole is that the two pillars of physics, classical physics, and quantum mechanics, is that the two do not play well. The classical physics pertain to what we observe in day to day life, the large and the massive. Classic physics describe the density of the black hole quite well. However it does not describe the sub-atomic scales very well, that is what quantum mechanics is for. They describe two separate things and do not work together.

This lack of understanding is not an argument in favor of gods residing at the depths of black holes. God of the gaps, it is a fallacy.

Of course, if you stretch it and take it as metaphor you can make it mean whatever you like. However when taken literally, and for intellectual honesty is should be, formless is far removed from a celestial body which by its very existence has a definite form.

The sun existed before the earth. The earth did not exist before the sun. To say that the earth was created then given the attributes of day and night is ridiculous.

Yup, and the order of which those organisms appeared is out of order in Genesis.

All of which existed long before humans and most animal life. Seasons existed before birds. The book is inaccurate.

Sea creatures existed before land animals. The book is inaccurate.

Riiiiggghhhhttttt..... and what evidence do you possess to confirm this?

So he created man, and put a tree is mythical garden, just to watch man fall?

In what way does this make sense?

So in the mean time, another 26,000 children will starve today? Is that love?

.... and where is rape mentioned?

That makes about as much sense as what I originally posted.

I guess we should thank Gawd/ or just be grateful for that - especially as some religionists - incl. Catholics would wish we didnt have free will. :)

Out of line and maliscious or NOT , ( I wasnt around at the time ) but it appears that many Nazis (German + Austrian members of the Party ) was regular church attending Catholics.

    Pope Pius .

Pope Benedict XV1 and several Cardinals Members of Hitler Youth .

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, whose strong defence of Catholic orthodoxy has earned him a variety of sobriquets — including “the enforcer”, “the panzer cardinal” and “God’s rottweiler”

btw - Cherry picking - selective Bible quotes doesnt carry much weight as , I hope you'll recognize the book to be full of contradictions - say one thing in one chapter and the complete opposite in the next.

IMO - we're born , we live then we die , like all other life forms .

Oh, threats of Hell and Hopes of Paradise!
    One thing at least is certain--This Life flies;
    One thing is certain and the rest is Lies;
The Flower that once has blown forever dies

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.

And that inverted Bowl they call the Sky,
Whereunder crawling coop'd we live and die,
Lift not your hands to It for help--for It
As impotently moves as you or I.

The Worldly Hope men set their Hearts upon
Turns Ashes--or it prospers; and anon,
Like Snow upon the Desert's dusty Face,
Lighting a little hour or two--is gone.

    Omar Khayyam .

Definition: a word, speech, divine utterance, analogy.

I'd say in this case the self-improvement was him hanging himself.. lol

Seriously, You have my belief backward, like many people do. If the guy truly believed in Jesus only to commit murder of a thousand then himself, he is better of a non believer.

That is called "tragic," rather than injustice..

Use what against you ? We have all self-served ...

To enable life to live ?

    You tell me...

I didn't say he became God, I said he became the Son of God .. Look at John 1 ... It says in the beginning the word "was" God .. Remember after that "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us," [etc..] Jesus was not God at that point, he was made "Son of God/son of man" when the Word was made flesh ...

I never said they were equal.. The H20 analogy was to describe how 3 things could be the same at the same time they are not.

Jesus Spirit was and is divine, not his flesh.

    OK .... :sun:

    According to:
Sir Frederic Kenyon, in The Story of the Bible, notes that "For all the works of classical antiquity we have to depend on manuscripts written long after their original composition. The author who is the best case in this respect is Virgil, yet the earliest manuscript of Virgil that we now possess was written some 350 years after his death. For all other classical writers, the interval between the date of the author and the earliest extant manuscript of his works is much greater. For Livy it is about 500 years, for Horace 900, for most of Plato 1,300, for Euripides 1,600." Yet no one seriously disputes that we have accurate copies of the works of these writers. However, in the case of the New Testament we have parts of manuscripts dating from the first and early second centuries, only a few decades after the works were penned.
Not only are the biblical manuscripts that we have older than those for classical authors, we have in sheer numbers far more manuscripts from which to work. Some are whole books of the Bible, others fragments of just a few words, but there are literally thousands of manuscripts in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Coptic, Syriac, and other languages. This means that we can be sure we have an authentic text, and we can work from it with confidence.

Author and writers is two different things although in many cases it is sometimes use interchangeably. Author is essentially the person who originates the idea, plot, or content of the work being written. A writer is a person who writes a book, article, or any literary piece that may originated from another person such as an author or from events.

The Bible is one unique book that has gone through very detail, theological, scientific and philosophical scrutiny to proof its authenticity and its validity. As far as who wrote them it is accepted that it is written by several people in a span of centuries, individuals who have first hand experience and or knowledge of the events.

There are strict criteria followed in order to determine the authenticity of the writers:
    1. Were the writers either eyewitness to the events they wrote about or at least directly taught about them by the Apostles?

    2. Was each book’s teachings consistent with church practice and tradition?

    3. Was each book already in general use by the church and accepted as the Divine Word of God?

The Christian Bible will be completed in about 400 AD.

    2Peter 1:20 -21
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

    2Timothy 3:16 - 17
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

We can say the author of the Bible is God communicated to the prophets such as Moses, Jacob, Isaiah, Daniel, and author Jesus Christ to Peter, John, Paul etc. and written by Mark, and Luke.

Is the Bible infallible? It is in spiritual sense. Up to this date the Bible is still under scientific study and is being use as a reference to determine certain historical events and archeologically discoveries. The Dead Sea Scrolls is just one of the ancient text that is being study because the Scroll contains materials about the Bible.

A more detail can be found also in Wiki

Some of the catholic priests relationship with the Nazi has nothing to do with the doctrine of purgatory. It still does not change that purgatory means the purification of souls to be free from all evils.

At the same time while there are catholic sympathizers to Nazism, there are also those who are against it.

That is why slowly but surely science is making new discoveries, decades ago what use to be science fictions read only on comics and seen on movies are now becoming a reality. The vastness and infinite field is becoming a reality that something is out there, the what how and when of the universe and life on earth? Up to this date science is not sure how life begun on earth why life only on earth? what is the relationship of humans to apes? They still struggle to accept that apes are a species of its own and humans are of its own.

No it may not be but it is a sign that science still has a long way to go.

The same can be said, you can interpret it the way you see fit away from any biblical relationship.

How do we know that the sun came before earth? so far we have not seen any sun or star turn into an earthly like planet. And how come our own sun ha snot transform into another earthly planet?

This is what make the earth unique not only is it the only known planet that support life and intellectual beings (humans) its creation started as a formless mass. From a formless mass into a planet with form then sun and moon were added so that it can start to support life. Just like humans were created with intellect above all other living things that science is still struggling to understand as to why, and science is trying very hard to educate other mammals to develop human intelligence and so far still no success.

The rest of the universe or planets is now up to humans to work on to make it possible to support life, the ability to create as handed to us by God.

So far scientist have no definite answer only theories what the seasons were like million or billion of years ago. And yes most of things have already existed before humans, that is why after God have created everything His last creation was humans.

Base on fossils it would seem it is very close sea and land creatures s to which came first and so far science is still making new discoveries.

    7. Finally, God saw all these are good meaning everything is functioning in according to design, the earth rotating around the sun, the moon providing night light, but most of all the ability of earth to sustain life through that order.
    8. Then finally God decided to create human in order to look after the world. That is why humans are a distinct species o fits own separate from apes just like God created every species of creatures base on its own kind. Each of those creatures will then evolve in their own way just like humans will too.

That we did not evolved from apes you mean, well we haven't see any apes evolving into humans in spite of many experiments to educate apes to be like humans, apes have still remain apes. Plus with so many ape species which human race came from which ape species? What we have seen is humans have evolve, racial mix have produce beige people :)

Not to watch man fall but to allow man to take responsibilities.

26,000 starving, and who or why are they starving? is it not because of wars, greed cause by humans, humans that have the ability to stop it and have chose not to.

There are many both religious and secular organizations that are helping those 26000 starving children and would they be helping if they have not in their heart that love and concern?

    Deuteronomy 22:25–27
25 “But if in the field the man finds the girl who is engaged, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lies with her shall die.
26 “But you shall do nothing to the girl; there is no sin in the girl worthy of death, for just as a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, so is this case.
27 “When he found her in the field, the engaged girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.

That makes about as much sense as what I originally posted

    the question is:
    what is a+b?

big chunk of the answer is:
why c+d is not equal to e?

i'm still waiting for someone who is be able to explain his/her own
theological doctrine without attacking another belief.

here's a link for you that i saw in another post.

"the laws of man are like a spider's web,

Wanren the reason I posted those photos was in response to your earlier post saying

Purgatory a place to purge , we told that Nazis sought to purge their race to rid it of , what they considered as undesirable (perhaps evil to their twisted logic) . From all that I've read , lead me to think there was many more Catholic sympathizers (incl.Priests etc.) to Nazism + Italian fascism than against it.

Not sure abt it being "love " more to do with an instinctive drive to preserve our species, as can be observe in packs of wild dogs , wolves , hyenas - making sure they also prove for elderly near toothless , and the young.

27 “When he found her in the field, the engaged girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.[/QUOTE]

Cherry picking biblical quotes again , are you ?

    Howz abt :
"Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go." (Judges 19:24-25)

    Comment
Judges 19 describe a father who offers his virgin daughter to a drunken mob. When the father says "unto this man do not so vile a thing," he makes clear that sexual abuse should never befall a man (meaning him), yet a woman, even his own flesh and blood, or a concubine belonging to a perfect stranger, can receive punishment from men to do what they wish. This attitude against women still persists to this day and we have the Bible, in large part, to thank for this attitude against women.

Verse 25 describes the hours long gang rape of the poor concubine. The Bible gives not one hint of passion or concern for the raped girl. Considering that many people believe that every word in the Bible comes from God, it should not surprise anyone why people still use these verses to justify such atrocities
    ----
    Raping And Killing
"Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." (Isaiah 13:15-16)

    Comment
These verses foretold the deaths of the people of Babylon. Fortunately not everyone in Babylon (now modern Iraq) fell by the sword or had their children dashed to pieces or their wives raped (just another instance of errors in the Bible). How some people who believe in an infallible Bible can accept these verses as God inspired, or morally uplifting can only give evidence to the blinding nature of belief. For if we believe these words as God inspired, then the killing of children and the raping of wives must also come as an inspiration from the Supreme Being.

At the same time there are more anti Nazi catholics then there are sympathizers, it will be the Christian army of the Allied forces that would go after and destroy Hitler and his Nazi regime. Nazi purging concept has nothing to do with Catholic purgatory, there's is about purging their earthly race that targets every none Aryan. All none Aryans be it women, babies, children, old man, civilians or soldiers they kill them all. Catholic purgatory on the other hand is the purification of the soul of all evil and this include un-baptized babies and children will all enter Heaven.

You heard wrong about more Catholics sympathise with Nazism and Fascism. Poland and France a strong Catholic country fought hard, Italians will eventually turn against their Fascist leaders.

    Mathew 19: 13 - 15
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

The difference is this, Muslims took direct participation on the side of Hitler, in fact the only WWII war criminal that got away was Mufti AL Hussein because Muslims protected him just like they protected Bin Ladin and the Taliban and they fought in the name of Nazism and Islam.

Catholic priest on the other hand had to play along in order to save the many innocent victims being targeted by Nazi-Hitler.

And as you can see, Muslims have a hard time in admitting they're wrong or speaking up against those extremist which are many instead what we are seeing and hearing are Muslims pushing the blame to us. We can talk about this in the other thread.

How can it be cherry picking? You ask about rape and I provided you in fact this verse acted as a reference to become today's' secular criminal law against rapist.

What you have provided has a different context:
    Judges 19:20 -25
20 “You are welcome at my house,” the old man said. “Let me supply whatever you need. Only don’t spend the night in the square.”
21 So he took him into his house and fed his donkeys. After they had washed their feet, they had something to eat and drink.

22 While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.”

23 The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don’t do such an outrageous thing.”

25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go.

It is IMO about the lawlessness that existed at that time, Israel was without a king and civil war was happening. The man (guest of the old man) gave up his concubine to save himself from the wild man and the next day finding his concubine unconscious and unresponsive he took her inside the house and chop her into pieces. Apparently, if you read the first part of the chapter the concubine and the man did not have a good relationship she had left the man and the man went back to get her that is when they landed at the old man's house. This verse is about heinous crime, a country without a King and law this is what will happen.

Just like to add that after the rest of the tribes learn of this heinous crime they demanded justice for that poor woman's murder.

    Judges 19 : 25 - 30
25 But the men would not heed him. So the man took his concubine and brought her out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until morning; and when the day began to break, they let her go.(*)
26 Then the woman came as the day was dawning, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her master was, till it was light.(*)
27 When her master arose in the morning, and opened the doors of the house and went out to go his way, there was his concubine, fallen at the door of the house with her hands on the threshold. 28 And he said to her, “Get up and let us be going.” But there was no answer. So the man lifted her onto the donkey; and the man got up and went to his place.(*)
29 When he entered his house he took a knife, laid hold of his concubine, and divided her into twelve pieces, limb by limb,[c] and sent her throughout all the territory of Israel.
30 And so it was that all who saw it said, “No such deed has been done or seen from the day that the children of Israel came up from the land of Egypt until this day. Consider it, confer, and speak up!”

It is not being use to justify atrocities, it is being use to strengthen laws and justice against such heinous crime and punish those criminals.

Rubbish - those you now try to pass off as "the Christian army" didnt fight in the cause of Christiandoms - or under the banner of Catholicism - very different from the , then Vatican blessing of Hitlers Nazis + Mussolini. s Fascists. WW2 Opposition to those evil forces , was mainly non-Catholic . including a substantial percentage of non-christians.

Your photo of the Mufti - mean very little (ONE MAN ) whereas records shows of MANY Catholic Priests - meeting and saluting Adolf - who after was a Catholic and not muslim.

On the other hand Muslims in British Indian Army + French North African resistance played a major role against in defeating Nazisms , a fact which you apparantly choose to ignore or simply ignorant of.

    GO LEARN .

BTW - pls dont bother with bible quotes - its BS and doesnt mean anything to me.
