    They paid into just like SS...some for 40-50 years...unlike medicaid, welfare, food stamps, WIC, child healthcare and God knows what else.

    I dont under stand this "dependent" class. If there wasn't Social security or Medicare then seniors would still depend on other means to provide for their retirement and health care.
    People who bring up "this dependent" are proprogandist trying to confuse people who don't understand how society works

    The funny thing is is that people who get Medicaid get less federal funding then people with private health insurance via their employers.
    Also funny is that anyone with a housing mortgage, a student loan, or a retirement accounts such as 401ks get more federal subsidies then people on food stamps WIC and so forth.
    Another funny thing is that people getting food stamps, WIC and so forth actually did pay into them via taxation. I find it dishonest of you to claim that people who pay taxes dont pay them.

    Millions rely on their 401k to survive in retirement, I suppose you think that is somehow an entitlement as well? You are delusional.

    They are not dependent on a govt handout. SEriously? You cannot see the difference between a program ONE PAYS INTO and one that is a pure handout?

    You don't seem to understand that the programs you mentioned are programs the beneficiaries paid into, they are not handouts. The people who paid into the programs. It is not unlike purchasing an annuity for the purpose of having that investment pay you a return at a given point.

    A pure handout like welfare and food stamps is nothing like these. Pure handouts create a dependency on the govt for sustenance. It is YOU who do not understand how societies work.

    This is illogical. We all know that the dependent class is generational, so the chances are that these people DID NOT pay into the Govt coffers via taxation.

    So what? It is a program one pays into in order to obtain benefits later. In that respect it is similar to SS and Medicare.

    Yep and if those people didn't depend on the govt. for sustenance they would then depend on charity or a job for sustenance.
    I find it odd that you only object to dependence if it is the government
