Alice said to me last night that she didn't think her mother would last a month. Her mom is 86 as was her dad. She has some breathing issues. Alice was her mums favourite. She is the oldest daughter. I want her mum to be happy. She is like a second mother to me. She is a great lady.

66 years seems like a number out of this world. That is so long. They have been married 10 years before I was born. I think I am older. That number is unbelievable. Her familiy is very big. Her mom is well educated and we have some great talks. All the sisters and brothers have Dr's degrees. It is like visiting a University staff meeting when they are all together. Smart family. They are all good people.

Alices brother went to Canada during the Vietnam war and stayed there.

Once the family is here there will be a cremation and the ashes will be kept here. There will be no religious service. The viewing will be one night for two hours and only family and very close friends will be invited. There will be a meal at a restaurant yet to be selected. The nexy day the kids and Alices mom will have a breakfast. Just them. That is it.

Hi, I would be crushed. They just celebrated their 66th anniversary. Alice asked me today if I would mind if her mum came to live with us. I told her that would be fine. Alice and her mum are havung emotional swings. They go up and down. I am sad and feel that empty spot inside but nearly as bad.

I just feel tired "like" what the hell is next? Do we need something else? I have been working hard to stay in focus for my surgery and this is another barrier. It is difficult to hold the focus. I will be fine and things will be very good.

Her oldest brother and wife arived today their kids and the grankids will be in tomorrow as will most of the rest. Her brother is great. His wife is a putz. She has very strong opinions of gays. She is the only one in the family that has a problem.

She took it very hard. She is very close with her mum and dad. she has huge family and the kids and grandkids are everywhere and her Mum and dad bought a house anout half hour from us. So the feelings were mutual. Her mother id staying with us right now. Alice is a holding up. Surgery is now sometime next week. It is funny that my surgery was put off a day. had it been as scheduled I would be in the hospital and no help to her. As it stands I am here for her.

Hi there, I had to pospone the surgery. Alice's dad passed away at about 10:30 last night. It was very unexpected. He was elderly but seemed in good health.

You make me hungry. We went out to dinner tonight. I had mongolian beef with a side of rice annd We shared some woo dippar (butterfly shrimp). I had two glasses of lychee wine and green tea. Yum. KInd of like the last supper before the diets begin. The hospital nutritionist gave me a list of diabetic food counts. I am looking forward to counting all the sugar in all my foods.

That is great the way you have the kids earn treats. That is special. I love when I hear about teachers that do new and different things with the kids. I hate teachers that bore you to tears. I bet your classes are fum. What do you teach i.e class type, grade? i see so many that never add anything to knowledge. I used to have all the students join me somewhere and we would have field trips. One afternoon we went to this old house that was protected and had a French Salon. We talked about different periods revolutionary ideas. It turned into a huge debate. It lasted nearly 7 hours. I repeated that about 5 times over the years. I would invite any student from any class that attened a solon. The last salon was 176 people. It was great. We had to have it catered. It was set up in a pavilion that was set up in the huge garden. Alice even came after work. Other professors came as well. I am going to have one this summer and invite all of my old students and friends as well. I am not sure where we will do this but i can't stand not having one again.

Even when the students have degrees they enjoy field trips. I always tried to be ceative and teach cutting edge things. Classes could be based on a daily newspaper of internet blog. I will miss that interaction with youthful minds.

I would love to see you in action. I bet the students love you to bits. I'm sure you challange them and move them to be the best.

I was going to write you a note. Beverly this sweet woman across from us came by.She saw the recipe and made the pudding. I have two bowls in the fridge and one on my desk. It is excellent. I enjoyed it a lot. Bev said it was very good as well. Alice has not tried it yet. Other good news. I have cut down buy 40 cigarettes a day. I have cut the number in half. I cheated. I smoke half a cigarette instead of a whole one and have the second half later instead of a whole one.

My cardiac Dr. Did not want a stand in at the surgery. She put it off until she can be there. I am very comfortable. I'm doing well. Hugs.

They have put of the surgery until Wednesday.

Thank you for the advice and encouragement. The doctors have told me quitting smoking will be the hardest part. I smoke four packs a day and the have no filter so the nicotine intake is very high. They said that would take a little time. They want me to change to a filter type first. I did and now I break the filters off. If I didn't I would be somking ever second of the day. They did recommend that i wait to make all these changes untill after now. Alice has talked to some people that would help make a diet for me. I have been eating like this all my life. You were correct to use the word fear I am afraid of changing this. I have to get off of some of the meds I am on before I get into other pills. I take 2 handfuls of pills a day now. I am up to 42 pills. They will be cut down after the leg is removed. I have a lot of supportive people around me. I never thought I would be happy to lose a body part. This will really help my health. The legs have caused me so many problems for so many years. My hips will not hurt anymore. It will be a new time for me. I look forward to the years without hurt.

When you both win some it makes the relationship the best. I never win. Alice is always right and I know it. She has been really at me because of my health. She made me promise I would change all my bad habits. She is correct and I need to stop abusing the body I have left. I promised i would get a patch to try and stop smoking as well. She says she wants me around so that she can die first.

I like doing that. i do that a lot. I would not wear the santa hat though. My wife did. She does some of the Christmas stuff. I am the Grinch. That is what she calls me.

You're adorable. Yes you win. I bet it is very festive and special. My wife and i worked in a sgelter feeding people from dawn 'till dusk. Then we went out for dinner.
