If you think Rick Santorum is self-righteous, then you're not even trying to pay attention to anything he is saying. I have never seen a more humble guy in my entire life. You seem to be mistaking standing up for what is right for self-righteousness. If you'll actually pay attention, the guy almost stands up for his principles with an apologetic element. As if to say, "I'm sorry, but that's not right." Self-righteousness impless a sense of smug satisfaction with being right. Santorum does not embody that at all. I'm sorry if you struggle with right and wrong, but that is your issue to sort out. That doesn't make the people who are brave enough to stand up for what's right "self-righteous" just because it makes you uncomfortable.

Can you imagine going out with the doctor who delivered you as a baby? I couldn't. I just find it (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up.

By lib standards this thread is very timely.

Beginning with Sarah Palin in 2009 the pro Obama crowd has employed the politics of personal destruction against every Republican that is a threat to Der Furher.

Now its Santorum's turn to face the gauntlet.

Why? Do you not understand what I'm saying? Are you having some difficulty with it? Are you having "issues" with your intellectual "abilities"

yep...won't be long before they'll start in on his sick baby. Like they did with Palin's.

Exactly. I mean really, do we hold Barrack Obama responsible for his wife's old days as a hooker, years before they met? I, for one, wouldn't hold it against him for Michelle being a whore.

The only ones who are allowed to tell America what is "right" and what is "wrong" are Progressives.. as they have, for some odd reason unknown to me, assumed upon themselves the mantle of righteousness when they have absolutely zero right to it because virtually every Progressive program in history is a fiscal/social disaster.

    They already have.

There was a thread months ago criticizing how Santorum and his wife dealt with the death of their son who was stillborn.

I can't believe that the assinine premise of this thread has created 24 pages of drivel.
    Shame on the PF contributors.

    "Living out of wedlock?"

That sounds really funny coming from the liberal anything-goes crowd.

You might want to consider who's fault that is. If Palin decides that parading her family around in the media spotlight-(for her own selfish career reasons)-is a good idea, then what do you honestly expect from the media-fawning adoration and mute respect?
You don't want media attention focussed on your family? Keep them out of the way. Not rocket surgery.

I don't think anyone cares about that part, it's that he was an abortion doctor. This women obviously would wed anyone that would take care of her, and has no core beliefs of her own. That is NOT 1st lady material!

So she had an affair with a doctor. So what, and how does that not make her 'first lady material'?

I am totally against Santorum and everything he stands for.

And this is a stupid, brain dead issue. This thread is moronic.

Waitresses are one step away from being whores. The only difference between a waitress and a whore is that a waitress isn't sucking on my **** for her money, though she might as well be the way that they flaunt and sashay their junk around my dinner table just to earn a few extra bucks out of my pocket. :toast:

    What's so odd about that?

Humans have a long history of learning from their mistakes and building on the experience.

The Apostle Paul for instance who hated Christians and actively persecuted them till his conversion to a follower of Christ on the road to Damascus.

Or the woman who was known as Roe in Roe v Wade of the infamous abortion case.

She later found Christ, repented her sins, and has been an opponent of killing unborn children ever since.

"Roe" was on my FB friends list for a while, so I know her, but she is a little unstable to say the least.

Funny you should bring up Paul, because Newt actually fits him better than does Rick.

But sorry, Rick and his wife weren't pro-life, until they lost a baby.

Now IF Rick wasn't running around saying his values go way back, and that the other are flip floppers, but not him. He'd have integrity. BUT he doesn't, and is just saying whatever he thinks will get him elected.

I'll stick with Newt. Since becoming Catholic, he hasn't done anything bad (that I know of), Rick on the other hand is a huge hypocrite.

So Rick is a hypocrite, but Newt, who went "attack dog" on Bill Clinton for cheating on his wife while Newt himself was cheating on his wife, isn't a hypocrite?

I think Rick Santorum would make a horrible POTUS.

BUT - I could care less who his wife dated.

I don't really care if she indulged in mass orgies and used to be a prostitute.

It's no one's business but hers.

When is America going to stop focusing on things that are nothing to do with running America and start focusing exclusively on what matters?

That was before he became Catholic, so doesn't matter to me.

    BUT with that said,

According to Newt's wife he asked for an open marriage. According to Hillary, she had no idea.

Bill lied, Newt admitted. Huge differences there.

I don't know what kind of nasty dives you're eating in but you should give some thought to patronizing a little higher class establishment.
