How can a promise from G-d be written down like that?

You know, oral promises, not written ones???:pc:

Using God as an excuse to occupy land that doesn't belong to you is simply the cowards way of excusing colonialism. Unfortunately the very religious often use their religion to perpetrate heinous crimes and then use the excuse that God gave them permission as a way of abrogating their responsibility.

It's not an excuse; it's the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts but it's still the truth.:pc:

Dream on. I asked God and he told me it was bull(*)(*)(*)(*). I asked Yahweh, Allah, and God. They all said: RFLOL.

No longer matters if God "gave the land to the Israelites".

this spurious debate about questionable religious history is nothing more than academic masterbation. Fact is Israel exists today and the only reason it exists is because its people fought for the land and defended the land from all comers. They ain't likely to decide at this point that they made a huge religious mistake and move out.

By the same token, the palestinians own the land they are on regardless what Israel would have the world beleive. They are a people in their own right, forged by misery, humiliation and blood dedicated to the single vision that their land is palestine. that kind of price cannot be ignored by any civilized, moral person.
