Only republicans can be hypocrites because only they believe in a moral standard for individual behavior.

If you want a party that subsidizes self destructive hedonism and cultural rot the left beckons.

So if two gay men go to a church and their pastor marries them they get arrested? Oh right, you mean you think the government who shouldn't be marrying anyone in the first place, should also marry gay couples.

Also I'm all for abortion, I just think it's silly to think human life begins at birth. Human life doesn't begin until you start earning enough money to pay taxes.

No, I'm saying that people like "Unifier", who claim to be "libertarian" just as most pseudo-freedom-loving rightwingers do, who want to outlaw homosexuality (yes he did say that, but I'll have to find the thread), are well..hypocrites.

One of the major things that annoys me about political discussions is that right wingers consider themselves to be in support of their buzzword, "liberty", when they really usually are not. I mean, "liberty" is truly a subjective concept because what one person considers "liberty", another could just as well consider a privilege or even tyranny, and it seems that both leftwingers and rightwingers tend to define "liberty" in a significantly different way than I do.

Leftwingers tend to define "liberty" as civil liberties only, rightwingers tend to define "liberty" as private property rights only.

I am a moral consequentialist, to be perfectly honest. I support abortion because the people who want/need abortions, shouldn't be having kids in the first place. If we didn't allow abortions, a lot of stupid ass people would be having kids and those kids would have both dumb ass genes and bad parenting/environment growing up and would be less likely to be constructive people themselves as adults.

    Seriously?

    This is satire, correct?

If you SERIOUSLY think this is true, you are less informed than most Americans.

    I'm pro-choice, but not pro-abortion.

You're giving reason to the other side that says 'abortion is birth control.'

Help me out, and tell me you're JOKING with bad taste, bec. I'M STUCK DEFENDING YOUR ARSE OTHERWISE! And I'm NOT happy about it!

    Hello?

I don't like overpopulation. Overpopulation is a problem. I don't like humans in general but still, overpopulation is a problem because of Malthus' Law. That's why I support contraception and abortion.

(*)(*)(*)(*), we should even fix people who are stupid/irresponsible that way we can permanently prevent them from reproducing and burdening society as a result.

Freedom/liberty is not a right. It is a privilege for those who earn it.

I don't like overpopulation either. I also don't like women having babies until they die. Just like with other animals, it ends up affecting the babies in a negative way too. I wish more (ALL) people would adopt instead of try to screw with nature and end up having 6 babies at once (or selectively aborting some of them).

Just wish you, never mind. You're the way you are and that's the way you should be, I suppose. Just so harsh.

    Sigh. . .

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here.

But I will say that most people are:

-overly self-centered and egotistical; making a mountain out of a mole hill about the supposed flaws of others and making a mole hill from a mountain when it comes to their own flaws

-inconsiderate of others in just about every way, and will exploit others in social, economic and other situations for their own benefit

    -not very intelligent

-purposefully ignorant due to their emotions trumping their reasoning

-superficial and judgemental over superficial things

I really just wish a huge asteroid would wipe this beotch out.

So I guess you're saying I'm harsh, since I called you harsh?

Other than the asteroid, I completely agree with you!

I still have hope in the human spirit! Maybe not until we melt a few million, but once that happens, it'll all be fine by me! :butterflytwo:

I just flat out have a hatred towards humans in general. They just..suck. I don't want them to be able to experience pleasure. I would be considered insanely evil by a psychologist but as far as *I* am concerned, people themselves are evil, so me wishing Hell on them is perfectly acceptable.

They'd like to rationalize it, as it common with hypocrites, but they know that the prohibition imposed based upon gender criteria as established by the laws against same-gender marriage are a discriminatory violation of equal protection under the law.

Mitt Romney was the governor of Massechusetts when the State Supreme Court heard the case on same-gender discrimination in marriage and declared the law an unconstitutional violation of equal protection under the law based upon the State Constitution. He knows that unconstitutional discrimination exists when same-gender marriage is prohibited. Mitt Romney issued the order to the county clerks to end this discrimination and to start issuing marriage licenses to same-gender couples.

Every Republican presidential candidate that signed the National Organization for Marriage pledge knows that NOM a front organization for the Mormon Church. It is common knowledge and everyone knows it's sole purpose is to impose the "Christian" religious definition of marriage.

Every Republican presidential candidate knows that DOMA is a violaiton of the 10th Amendment because we have over 200 years of precedent establish the power of the States to define marriage. Every Republican presidential candidate knows that DOMA denies federal benefits and privileges to some legally married couples and that it's discriminatory.

The Republican presidential candidates know that the prohibitions related to same-gender marriage are discriminatory and are based solely up their religious beliefs about marriage. They know that when they support prohibitions against same-gender marriage it is based upon religious intolerance. They know, and we know, exactly why they are hypocrites when it comes to prohibiting same-gender marriage. They are pandering to a small element of the Republican bases that opposes same-gender marriage because of their Bibilical beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.

These Republican presidential candidates know that the prohibition of same-gender marriage creates unconstitutional gender (sex) discrimination under the law and that it promoted bigotry, hatred and that it's based solely upon religious intolerance.

Those Republican candidates that signed the NOM pledge are so sure of the fact that the prohibition of same-gender marriage imposes discrimination that violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment that they're actually calling for a US Constitutional Amendment to Constitutionally impose this discrimination by the Federal government throughout the United States!!!!

This is reflected in the Republican Party Platform that I cited in the OP. Republicans oppose religious intolerance and that intolerance relates to infringements on both "freedom of religion" as well as "freedom from religion" in our laws.

The prohibitions of same-gender marriage and denial of contraception and abortion are overwhelmingly based upon religious beliefs. It would be impossible to deny the connection to religious beliefs related to contraception and abortion considering that the Catholic Church is the number one opponent and explicitly establishes that their opposition is based upon their religious beliefs. They've even sought exemptions under "Obamacare" based upon their religious beliefs where they would deny medical benefits to non-Catholics employees based upon their religious beliefs.

The opposition to same-gender marriage, contracption, and abortion are all fundamentally based upon religious beliefs. The all impose discrimination based upon religious intolerance that the Republican Party opposes in it's political platform.

The Republican presidential candidates that support this discrimination based upon their religious intolerance should rightfully be condemned by Republicans in general that support the Republican Party based upon it's expressed political platform.

No, and that is not what's claimed in the OP although Rick Santorum's statements were so timely that they were included.

This is about every Republican presidential candidate that signed the National Organization of Marriage pledge (i.e. everyone except Ron Paul) that opposes same-gender marriage. They know that NOM is a front for religion seeking to impose a "Christian" definition of marriage upn the People. They know that the prohibition against same-gender marriage is a discriminatory violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment which is why they call for a Constitutional Amendment which would impose religious discrimination related to marriage throughout the United States.

They are blatant hypocrites and their position on this issue is clearly in violation of the Republican Party's expressed opposition to religious intolerance, bigoty, hatred and discrimination. The Republican Party specifically states that discrimination is immoral so based upon the Republican Party's own statement these politicians are immoral in promoting discrimination.

Republicans should reject them at the polls in the primaries and, if one is nominated, reject them in November. How can any Republican support a candidate that is clearly an immoral bigoted hypocrite that promotes religious intolerance and discrimination?

As I noted I plan on doing that as we get closer to the November election. We know that Obama is going the be the Democratic nominee but we don't know who the Republican nominee will be. I haven't reviewed the Deomcratic Party Platform to identify where Obama is violating it but if someone wants to do that for me and PM me with that information then I will include it in my later condemnation of President Obama. Of course others are also welcome to create anti-Obama threads as well based upon either the issues or identified cases where he acts in opposition to the Democratic Political Platform.

This thread is addressing a timely issue for Republicans that still have time to effect the Republican nominee. It is important for Republicans to become informed about their candidates.

Certainly knowing that the majority of the Republican presidential candidates are bigoted hypocrites promoting invidious religious intolerance and discrimination that violates the expressed position of the Republican Party as expressed in the Party Platform should be important to Republicans.

While not all Republican politicians in Congress voted to raise the national debt enough have historically to reflect hypocracy by those that today condemn the national debt limit of over $15 trillion.

Not a single Republican presidential candidate, with the exception of Ron Paul, has come out in opposition to future increases in the National Debt Limit to my knowledge. I maybe wrong on this but if so could someone please provide a quotation from any of the Republican presidential candidates where they've stated they will insist on a balanced budget in 2013 if elected.

    As opposed to...?
Trying every way possible to force the opposite down one's throat, like it or not?
Don't just look at one side, look at both.
You gripe about Reps wanting to keep the ( religious) definition traditional marriage intact, yet when a religious institution gripes about having to pay for what is against their religious beliefs, they should just take it.
    Tyrants come in all forms.
If we don't want people to mingle into our private lives, don't force others to mingle against their will/faith.

I had "hope/belief" in the human spirit when I was young. Then I spent over 30 years in the service industry .. Waiter, Sales, and so forth.

The average Joe is self centered, selfish, woefully ignorant of civics and the constitution or its meaning, petty, and so on.

Call me jaded but I only have to look at our current crop of GOP candidates and the world in general for validation of this premise.

There are good folks out there for sure but, the raging masses are a pitifull bunch.

Most "people" are hypocrites. Republicans are people.

I agree that such a broad unqualified statement is of little value though.

What one can say is that the Republican platform claims to have some respect for the Constitution.

The fact is that when you look at the candidates (Paul is an exception), none of them has any respect for the Constitution, or even seems to understand it.

They all talk about "freedom of Religion", which is a right just as is liberty, freedom and persuit of happiness.

What they totally neglect is one of the primary purposes of the constitution and that is "freedom from Religion".

Im all for folks having their own religious beliefs but, folks that spend much of their time trying to force those beliefs on others, and the rest of the time claiming to be upholding the constitution, are hypocrites.

A large percentage of today's Republicans fit this mold.

Hypocritical...here's one for ya. All throughout the campaign and into the beginning of his presidency, Obama hammered on how bad the economy was. Even comparing it to the Great Depression....then, last week, said that he had no idea how bad it was, when he was running in 2008. WTF Barry, which is it?
