I comprehend the threads title......but why are you bringing up tactical nukes?

Because I've referred directly to a theoretical study that shows firearms won't have any effect (which may provide a reason for your failure to refer to any evidence), demonstrating that we need high costs for deterrence to hit home (they refer to nukes themselves; which isn't surprising as its been studied in depth within game theory analysis such as MAD)

have you ever heard a pump shotgun being loaded in a darkened room?not every bit of deterrence is dependent upon sight

The intellectual level that I've come to expect from the pro-gunners on this sub-forum.

'Humor'. Its not just a spelling issue!

The problem is that you fellows have bored me. You don't have the knowledge to challenge me, nor do you have the imagination to entertain me. You are dismissed.

It was a stupid-assed question in the first place.....anyone who's heard the noise of a pump shotgun can see it would freeze a burglar in his tracks......especially when they contemplate what a load of )) buckshot will do to their body..

Oh, come on. Is that the best you can offer?

Why is it such as issue for you and others to carry on a respectful and fruitful discussion without smears and derision?

The quality of this sub-forum has gone. There used to be some opposition on here, if that's the right vocab, who were genuinely interested in constructive criticism. Its now just blanket anti-intellectualism, with a pack mentality characterised 'purely' by sub-schoolyard banter. I'm just bored of it and won't bother any more unless there's an upturn in the quality of discourse

There will always be those who eschew intellectual discussion, but the tag team agreement by so many here to this concept is troubling, frankly.

If you were observant, you'd have noticed that I'm an American.

Where in 'Young Frankenstein' did anyone say: "Your 'thoretical study' is doodoo", and if they did, how would that be appropriate to this conversation?

Your false indignation is fairly transparent.

Oh, really? That's odd because your responses do indicate indignation. False or otherwise.

I'm also terribly hurt and offended that you don't appreciate my sense of humor. Notice the false indignation?:constipated:
