If one US citizen is unable to vote because of this law that is one too many.

I think the Walker gov't would have an easier time with this argument and law, if when they instituted the Voter ID law, they didn't shut down most, if not all the DMV's in the democratic districts.

If they wanted to make it easier for people to vote, as long as they were registered citizens, they would have done everything they could to make it more accessible for people to register. Not harder

I realize the Democrats miss the good ole days when then could keep blacks on the plantation by force of law but voter ID is not a return to the days Democrats miss as much as it is a way for blacks to get off the plantation.

I'm amazed at how liberals can lie and still think they have a right to moral indignation. In Arizona, and the rest of American the Democrats feel they have a right to "vote early and vote often" including votes from the dead and foreign nationals. Any attempt to restrict their voting fraud is rejected with lies.

With this administration the "National Voting Procedure" would require you to vote only for Democrats. No one else would be allowed on the ticket. Oh, and you get to vote for all of your ancestors.

I know at least two dozen homeless Americans who can't get an ID after core documents were lost or stolen. Out of those they have no residence and usually don't trust shelters to get that as a residence or they refuse to abide by the rules. Some have dogs for protection and can't use shelters without giving up their companions. Two don't have any proof of birth other than an entry in a family bible, are from backwater very rural areas and were born at home with just a local midwife. Even those that do have records getting them now is often impossible and without a birth certificate and social security card and proof of a residence you cannot get an ID. So yes it is an issue. And these people do work mostly in the cash economy, some do a craft or sidewalk perform or yes panhandle if they have to and don't obviously use any government services.

All I would like to see is a non-Federal and state use limited ID properly marked which is allowed under the old mailing address in state rule and more ways to prove citizenship than what most states have. Say a family bible entry, proof of school enrollment, applying for the selective service when eighteen, various other instruments and not even a social security card. This ID good for use in the state for voting.

Lets say they required in lieu of a birth certificate any four meaningful documents, with two verifying citizenship as more likely than not to a high degree. I would say an very old bible listing family names, school records, mail to a mailing address or a homeless shelter affidavit would suffice. One could default to "citizen of no fixed dwelling" for the homeless if they have no mailing address at all but they might need to have proof of being in the state for say six months in lieu of an address. Its all a matter of trust anyway no one could be 100% sure with the awesome fake ID's coming out of China they even scan like regular ID's, I could get one with a fake birth certificate and fake two other documents and odds are if high quality would not be found out to get a regular state ID (non-drivers license). At least my way its honest and people could use many means to verify who they are which should if the reviewers are on their game should reduce fraud.

I'm just pointing out unlike other things listed voted is a fundamental right afforded to all citizens under the U.S. Constitution and removal of said rights should not be based on ones social status or lack of means.
