Not for some people. Some people don't care about that and want him to continue to make his films.

I say he still has a crime to pay for and when he's served his time, then he can continue to make his films, but don't expect me to support him or watch any of his films since he is a child molester.

 

Funny. WG had to scramble to 'clarify' her 'rape-rape' question and 'legal charge' was the best she could come up with. But, of course, Polanski's 'legal charge' was more important to her than what he admitted doing to the teen...

Apparently, her excuse worked for you - liberals have their own set of values...

Ah, come on, Felix - when someone posts the below AFTER the pervert had long ago already admitted to the crime, then skipped the country to avoid prosecution, well I'd say your comment smacks of at least looking for some kind of avenue to maybe make Polanski look better......

Everyone in the country knew about Polanski's crime and admitting guilt, then like the depraved cockroach that he is, he runs from the law. No 14 year old is ever 'fed' drugs and alcohol. They take them of their own choosing. You don''t 'feed' a 14 year old like you feed a baby in a highchair. This kid knew what alcohol does, and she had taken those drugs before. She chose to take them.

Even at 14, you know right from wrong - or would you insist that at 14, HB, you wouldn't be held responsible for your actions?

Just a question, HB - how old do you believe someone must be before they are responsible for their own decisions?

And no one could look past the fact that there is evidence of sexual assault, no tearing, bleeding, nothing. If you are raped forcibly, you are going to have some damage.

Polanski probably did have sex her, because he said he did - but you can't prove he admitted to it just so he could get a lesser sentence.
Even you should be able to see and understand that. Its what people DO. They either plead guilty to get a lesser sentence, or they say they'll plead guilty to a lesser charge, or they'll argue mental disease or defect. Its what every criminal will do to save their own arse.

Why do you refuse to consider the possibily that Polanski is one of those people?

I have a question for you - just who was the adult in the Polanski house when the crime was commited?

Something else you should consider.... think back to when you were going to see Bon Jovi and how excited your were - didn't you say something about wanting to throw your underwear at him? You were jumping all over the computer w/excitement -And you're a big, mature grown0up at 28.....

Here's a 14 yr old kid being invited to visit a big-time movie producer in his home, no less .... an unsophisticated, eager to impress kid who didn't have a clue about perverts like Polanski and was under the movie producer's influence from the moment she stepped into his house. Most likely she was a starry-eyed kid thinking he'd offer her a tole in his movie. He had her under his control and influence and he took advantage of it......

So NO. What happened was not in any way her fault - it was his b/c he was the ADULt, old enuf to be her father, and he used his position of power & wealth to use her for his own sick sexual gratification......

I agree so much Mak. The parent(s) is/are so responsible to how the child turns out! I haven't had children by either of my two marriages, at 15 eek! (I married because I got the girl preggo but she miscarried*) and again at 27 yo, which at the time I was a member of a major so called outlaw MC gang, and was afraid to bring a baby into that lifestyle. Now nearing geezer hood I miss not having a kid, I guess I am saying that raising a kid is carries with it a awesome responsibility, rarely is the child to blame if they are rotten or promiscuous etc by age 10>14.
