Because that or those are America's ideology.

This forum is no different to all media run by whites though. They like to promote the negatives of other cultures while undermining the positives.

America does seem a racist place. But even they have speech standards. Don't they?

Yeah but we're not speaking. I don't think freedom of speech comes into play on web forums.

I am coming to like that term 'freedom of speech'

It is repeated on this forum like a mentally challenged spastic lost in one train of thought. But without no logical insights. Just the words are enough to promote confusion.

Maybe it is an american thing.

Oh really? That must explain the election of a half-black half-muslim president just seven years after 9/11. Perhaps you can point to another predominantly white christian country where the chances of a half-black/half-muslim dude to become president are above zero?

See, you are all slander, no substance, your absense from this forum has not changed that.

    Indeed a rare uncut diamond.

Although inbetween the regulars crying over bad language with snot dribbling out their nose and the roaring cries for free speech. This place is amusing. Like a old school freak show.

PF is starting to be over run with posters, of a certain political ideology whose tactical approach to conversation/dialog is to have it silenced, when not in line with their political ideology.

Can you give an example of some speech that should have been restricted.

I'll agree with this, although perhaps not in the way you intended. If you criticize Obama, you're also called a racist. It's not because you have genuine disagreements with his policies or ability, it's because you hate Blacks. I used to observe another forum years ago where the posters were almost all Liberal, and one of the mods said that if you did not vote for Obama, you were a racist. I'm not even paraphrasing, those were the exact words. So yeah, the racial divide - well, maybe it was always this bad, and with Obama in the Oval Office, we're just being exposed to it more. But I have no doubt that there's just as many racists who voted for Obama as against him, maybe more. Samuel L. Jackson surely isn't the only one with these sentiments: “I voted for Barack because he was black. ’Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them, that’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean sh-t to me. In the end, he’s a politician." And in the end, voting FOR someone because of his race is just as racist as voting AGAINST someone because of it.

I'm thinking perhaps you haven't been among enough young people; they're fairly racist as well. It's rare when they're in K-5, but it does tend to manifest starting around puberty. Oh, and they love playing the race card. It's a bit harder to do against me, but it annoys me when they try.

Excellent points! An example of that would be those who seem to believe that any criticisms of Pres. Obama's policies, his actions in office. or his character means that the person making those criticisms 'must' be racist. The fact is those people making the criticisms are "treating" him no differently than any other president of the past where they disagreed with the policies, actions taken while in office, or his character. IF we are truly to EVER become a color-blind society it's about judging people on the "content of their character" and "not the color of their skin." Martin Luther King said that.

I doubt based on your comments you will listen anyway....but I'll give it a try.

First off, even if we were so inclined to do so, it is impossible for us or anyone else to deem from the typed words on a political forum who is racist, who is homophobic, who is a socialist, who is a bigot, who is a Nazi, who is anything else we may not care for or agree with. Secondly, we don't ban members based on their political beliefs. That's the kind of thing that was done in Nazi Germany before and during WWII. And thirdly, we DO, in fact, have a few members here who have admitted to us that they "play games" with this issue. Meaning that they create characters to be vile racists so that they can then call PF a bunch of vile racists.

We honor and respect freedom of speech here.......as long as someone is abiding by the rules of PF, as set up and described at the top of each main forum. It's probably one reason PF is so popular and has been around more than 8 years now. And even those who complain, continue to come back and post here.

Maybe the question should be: Is the world over-run with racists?

Maybe this forum is a reflection of reality, perhaps more transparent because people hide in their rooms and blab anonymously, saying things they wouldn't dare say to someone's face.

I think everyone using the term "racist" should explain exactly what it means.

My own definition based on how I see the word used is "anybody who uses the race concept." This is also the natural meaning of "-ist" suffix words.

Generally, people who want us to censor racists also want to decide exactly who is racist. Many people believe that nearly everyone who does not support pbama is racist. Being for state's rights is a big indicator... obviously a euphemism for pro-slavery. Being against gay marriage must make you homophobic. If you don't want to pay for other women's birth control, you are certainly misogynistic. It comes down to the same reason we don't allow personal attacks. Ad hominems never prove your point. Even proving the ad hominem is a meaningless waste of time. Why be so constantly anxious to label people?

Mushroom: an unfortunate consequence of internet forums and their anonymous nature...is allowing folks who are predisposed to radicalized/biased thoughts to vent these in the form of text..
any fool with an internet connection and a keyboard is free to type whatever they want within the framework of rules imposed on a particular forum.

Take the good with the bad.

Though I agree, this forum attracts it's fair share of anti-semetics, and other types of rascists.

I agree generally with the concept of letting these people have their access to a forum like this. But I think that it is also fair for those who oppose them to be able to have a thread like this to express our dislike for their bigotry.

What bigotry? Identify one these supposed "racists", define "racism" and show how it applies, then show how they are guilty of "bigotry" (sticking to one POV in the face of good evidence to the contrary).
