I'm an advocate of responsible drug use. A low-dose of magic mushrooms might be just the thing for her.

Well, since she accepted a date from the real estate guy who must have appeared to be sane and rational, he might know others who are also and could introduce her around town ........

Except that many people are not responsible drug users. Its a very slippery slope indeed. Despite the fact that many people who have everything they want in life and still slip into drug addiction, the slope becomes all the more slippery when one is having other problems in life, i.e, unemployment, relationship/depression problems ect. True, some recreational drug use could help, but considering the potential detriments of such a choice, I would advise an alternative avenue.

I personally enjoy mushroom use, arizona has peyote as well, although the native population has brought it to near extinction due to their penchant for over harvesting.

I'm only half kidding. But it is based on sound medical science. I can refer you to the literature if you like...:)

Uninformed use is dangerous and is not recommended. Physicians and medical scientists should be more vocal about using these drugs for therapy. They can be very effective at reversing depression and resolving emotional trauma.

Some drugs can, at moderate and/or prescribed usage. Many people have had very severe and life changing stressful situations while under the influence of lsd, shrooms, and other psycho tropic drugs. It is important to have somebody there who knows what they are doing and what an appropriate dose is for the person trying them, otherwise it might not be a very enjoyable experience.

I couldn't agree more. Like I said, uninformed use is dangerous and is not recommended. I just find it sad that she doesn't have the option to pursue alternatives to pharmaceuticals.

Thank you, but no thank you.... I prefer my world of reality. I read your link in other post. This magic mushroom remedy for depression is recommended by Professor Nutt... what an appropriate name.

Town? Town is 7 streets and a main drag with pawn shops, dry cleaners, and used car lots. They don't even have a grocery here. I have to drive 15 miles just for food.

HB, why would it be okay for me to recommend this...

    ...but not this...

Both compounds are effective at treating depression, the only difference is that the latter compound can be grown at home and has no negative physical side effects like addiction or insomnia.

I was just ribbing you but there is a serious side to that discussion and maybe it is worth having with a physician.

Wow ... you are out in 'no man's land' aren't you?

Well, the only thing I can say is I hope you sell the house real soon.... meanwhile, if you enjoy the company of the real estate guy, ask him out for another date... and another and another.....

    What state are you in?

Been there, done that. Took prozac for a week and ended up sleeping about 30 minutes a night.

I'm on the tennessee/kentucky border, right across from the army base.
The real estate guy seemed a little slick, if you know what I mean. He was nice, but who wears a silk suit to the movies?

Ok.... I can't say I'm totally against every kind of drug b/c I have seen the positive effects of medicinal marijuana. I have a neighbor whom I've gotten to be good friends with who is brain-damaged.... John was a regular guy living in CA, then one night in Sacramento he was attacked by a gang of street thugs who beat him on the head so savagely, he was left brain damaged...

As a result, he now has seizures and horrific migraines. Takes meds for the seizures and has a medical dog, but no meds for the migraines will work, but pot does relieve the pain where he can function during the day and sleep decently at night.....

So, pot is the only thing that helps him w/the excruciating pain that no pill can do, but do I think pot should be legalized for everyone? NOPE. We don't need a bunch of people high on pot driving around - or any other drug. We have enuf alcoholics doing that...

As far as depression goes, well chronic depression is a serious matter that often leads to suicide, if untreated, and I wonder, if medical research can come up w/meds for the mentally ill like schizos & bipolars that stabilizes their brain where they can function pretty normally - why not for the chronically depressed instead of having to resort to magic mushrooms or something like that? And don't these mushrooms make a person hallucinate? What's the point of someone hallucinating that they're a butterfly or Batman or some crazy ass thing like that?

As much as I am anti-pill, when it comes to the mentally ill, which is also chronic depression, whatever pill can effectively help them get thru life w/a stabilized & rationalized brain as much as possible .... well, that's a good thing.

A man with swag. Quit being so (*)(*)(*)(*) nitpicky. If he was a nice guy, let him take you out again to get the nerves out of the way. A couple dates ought to tell you enough if you'd work out. Unless he threw some weird ass (*)(*)(*)(*) at you like bringing up ex-girlfriends or something.
