    I don't believe the answer to state overreach is more state intervention. Unless it's this guy's supervisor telling him to drop it.

    Zoning, is one of the 10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto.

    First Plank: Abolition of property in land and the application of all rents of land to public purposes. (Zoning - Model ordinances proposed by Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover widely adopted. Supreme Court ruled "zoning" to be "constitutional" in 1921. Private owners of property required to get permission from government relative to the use of their property.     I guarantee you if you move to a gated community in the suburbs of a red state you will not be able to set up a tent everyday and hand out sandwich's to poor black children that wander up. I'm not sure how that fits into your "Communist" rubric but there you go.

    Most so called Americans don't think that we have been a Communist country since Lincoln's 1861 Communist Revolution, in fact most of them love Communism in America........only they call it Capitalism.

    No one else on this thread said anything about zoning regulations as being pure Communism, did they?

    Nothing was said about the zoning being a voluntary agreement.

    Call it what you want but you will not be able to go to a gated community in a red state and set up a tent to feed poor black kids on a daily basis on your front law. Not a chance.

    What's really instructive is that she went through an inspection process and THEY didn't tell her there was a permit required. If even the Gubmint people don't know, why the (*)(*)(*)(*) should a private citizen?

    As was stated numerous times in this thread the kerfuffle was probably caused by some other private citizen getting a bee in their bonnet and calling up the city demanding action. I doubt the bureaucrat in the video really wanted this mess on his desk.

    So I guess we just ignore the laws we don't like? Every town has zoning laws. Sometimes they go a little too far, but they are also what prevents your next door neighbor from operating a porn studio on your street.
