Some of you may have heard of the FEMA Internment Camps allegedly being set up throughout the US, certain evidences do exist to go towards proving their existence and expansion.

I heard recently that old RAF bases around the UK are now being reopened and invested in to create camps similar to FEMAs.

My question thusly follows; considering millions are being spent on transforming these old bases, why aren't the expenses being told to us? And, despite being able to literally see them being altered would the UK government say that the bases are closed for good?

Do you have a link? All the old RAF bases I know are being turned into housing estates.

    OK, very funny. Ha ha!

Try it this way ... If you really want to worry, Google the "Indect Project". It's far more subtle and dangerous to civil liberties.

    Here's the official site.

Or you can get hyped up and chase conspiracy theories and ignore attacks on civil liberties there is actual evidence for. Please yourself.

I meant no disrespect, simply that lets face it, it's not difficult to trace an ip address to a source and I for one wouldn't be surprised if certain agencies did trace back over specific topics.

No disrespect was felt. The Indect Project and other measures in the pipeline go much further than you imagine. Every time you hear a politician or a bureaucrat talking about 'protecting' citizens, watch his hands not his mouth. We have a totalitarian state in the making and it's not surprising they want to control the internet.

From their site it says about protecting citizens etc, am I wrong in thinking that that is the supposed to be the role of the police, 'protect and serve'. It's obvious that we are merely 'worker bees' keeping the hive (government) flush but totalitarianism seems a bit ott.

True enough most thing against the people's interests are slid in through the back door but surely we, the people, aren't naive enough to 'allow' it all to happen? Or at least, that's what I'd hope.

I think we the people are most certainly naive enough, sadly.

There'd be mass protest at realisation though as soon as the word spread, which inevitably it would

You mean you read some random thread on a conspiracy website from some claiming the know a councillor who knows someone "senior in the Air Force" who said this is happening? Seriously, come back when you've got... well, anything at all.[/QUOTE]

Sure, if you want to worry, there are all sorts of things you can read about and assume the worst. I don’t want to worry and I only will if you actually give solid reasons to, not just assumption and speculation.

Don't worry then. It doesn't worry me either way.

Not if people were told that it was in the interests of their safety and security. The police have more power than they've ever had, and that with the undermining of English Common Law (the ending of double jeopardy, for instance) to make UK law more compatible with the evolving European code of justice should worry the public but it doesn't. Anyone accused of a crime in the future will have far less protection against malicious prosecution. You'll know the old saying about what absolute power does.

Most will not even give this much though, much less be a part of a mass protest. The authorities will be too subtle to confront public opinion head on, but they will win the propaganda war.

I'm not saying this IS happening but what I am saying is that the potential for 'underhand' tricks is always high

Sure, but that's equally true of government and the "conspiracy theorists", especially the random, anonymous ones on-line.

I vaguely recall watching Jesse Ventura 'investigating' this on his show, ignoring the ott Alex Jones, Ventura seemed to be onto something with regards to camps in the US
