Marine Guards are stationed at embassies ,not ( if at all) at consulates. Their job is to secure the embassy and its documents- not people. The security officers are responsible for that.

That was very "presidential" of him.

This whole "Muslim Spring/Uprising/Whatever", "Muslim/Islamic Brotherhood" thing that Obama has stupidly supported and protected is swelling up again and now it is biting your President "Messiah" on the ass! How 'bout it, hyperlibs? Do you like the Muslim Brotherhood better than the quiet, neutered Gadhaffi, and the client-autocrat, Mubarak? We were paying Mubarak nearly $2,000,000,000 a year to keep the peace, and we weren't paying Gadhaffi anything! Now, after supporting the Muslim Brotherhood all over North Africa, thanks to Obama, we'll be paying billions and billions more to a bunch of ******* murderers who hate our guts. After Bush invaded Iraq, Libya's Khadaffi threw away his nuke materials and started cooperating with the CIA. What does our idiot dog-eating Kenyan do? He throws out a cooperative leader, installs our enemies, and now our people are dead.

Egypt's Hosni El Sayed Mubarak was a friend and a peaceful neighbor to Israel. What does our jackazz president do? Helps topple Mubarek, installs our enemies, and now our embassy is attacked, plus they are threatening the peace with Israel.

And the one place where Obama should have helped topple the government, in Iran during their uprising, what does he do? Absolutely nothing. Is there anything more revealing about this slimey traitor Obama? And is there anything more revealing about the corrupt media that does not tell this story?

Oh, yes yes, Obama got Bin Laden. Big freekin' deal. So the generals come to him and say, "Sir, we know where Bin Laden in. Should we get him?" The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 46% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.


It appears that the 5 point lead Obama had is gone, replaced with a 1 point gain for Romney...after he said what he did!

He already apologized...This is a new issue. Aside from evacuation (hard to do without any helo's on either ship), I cannot figure what they could do. The 6th Fleet is only a shadow of what it was and should be consisting of only a few odd ships mostly for show the flag port visits. A serious amphibious warfare ship with marines might send a signal but 2 destroyers??

From what I can gather, the Ambassador was hundreds of miles from the Capitol in Tripoli at our consulate in Benghazi. This facility was not fortified or defended in any way. The Ambassador was traveling with a small staff and relied on Libyan security. They were attacked by 40-50 heavily armed terrorists. There was a long pitched battle between Libyan security forces and the terrorists with at least ten security guards killed or wounded. The building was destroyed and 4 Americans on the staff were killed. The terrorists fled.

To me that demonstrates a few things. We should not have undefended properties in the Middle East. We should not rely 100% on the locals for security. The host nation did their job here and were simply beaten in the fight. The attack was about terror and 911 and nothing else. I do not blame the government of Libya but instead on screw ups in our State dept and its owner, Obama.

Events in Libya had nothing to do with events in Egypt.

 

Right. They are so innocent that they are burning buildings and killing Americans.

 

The people of Benghazi did that?
