Where is all that electricity (to charge tens of millions of batteries every night) gonna come from?

Do you want to freeze in the winter driving vehicle that don't have heaters?

    Did anybody ask the consumer?

While it's amusing to have yet another failure of a liberal's promise once again blamed on Republicans... There are actual, real reasons why electric cars are not catching on.
    1) They're crappy... There isn't an electric car that a significant number of people really want. They're low on power, short on range, and take too long to charge.
    2) They're expensive... Most Americans don't want to pay more for a car they want less.
    3) Coal powered cars is not a sustainable alternative... You do know where electricity comes from, don't you?
    4) The US's electric grid could not sustain a significant increase in electric cars.. Our grid is near capacity already..

This all said, Hybrids are a possibility that could catch on, when the technology to make it affordable is available.
