This is about what public schools feed kids. Public schools. Not parents. Not private schools. Hence...it is not mandating what kids eat. Only what school cafeterias serve and portions.

Are you saying you can't pack a lunch?

Amen to that. I've often wondered about the 'fat kids' at schools where Michelle preaches her Healthy Eating sermon. Don't you know those kids have problems with low self-esteem as it is... must be brutal for them after those appearances. She's a big bully. Too bad there's no way to measure the emotional scars she's giving these kids.

It is not possible for me to give less of a (*)(*)(*)(*) what you think of me.

That is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing ever posted on this forum.

Again... where have you been, Z? You really need to skip a few Gary Johnson rallys and pay attention to what's going on in the REAL world.

That is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hysterical. Absolutely hysterical. Your faux concern over the feelings of children is rather hilarious.

Face reality. You took a stupid video and tried to imply it meant something other than it did due to your abject hatred of a logical policy, that being school lunches be healthy.

We have veggies every night and my kids all know they don't get up from the table till their veggies have been eaten. They also get veggies every day when we pack their lunches.

Nobody is making these kids buy a school lunch, but at least someone is taking steps to make sure the school cafeteria isn't contributing to the problem. Sure kids may bring junk from home, they always have. When I was in school there was nearly always a bunch of people selling some type of candy or food as a fund raiser for their group. From band to basketball boosters to the A/V club to the French club and everything in between, and that's not even counting the out-of-school activities that would have fund raisers like the Girl Scouts, and local sports teams. Candy has always been in the schools regardless of the cafeteria, and it will continue to be so. It doesn't mean the cafeteria has to contribute to the bad eating habits.

Your evading the topic entirely is far more hysterical. A link was provided in the thread about a 2010 Act regulating the amount of calories in lunches for all students - the video even mentioned this in the first few seconds of footage. It has nothing to do with whether or not "healthy foods" are allowed in lunches, it's a regulation of calories only, not to mention that "healthy school lunches" is an oxymoron to start with - you're the only one going talking about that, so try to stay on topic.

Now how about the link I gave you regarding school lunches continuing to use "pink slime" even after McDonald's rejected it. Only a liberal peon who uses Media Matters and TYT as their only "news" sources could seriously think that school lunches were ever healthy to begin with.

So, you think 'fat kids' embrace Michelle Obama's spotlight, TFM?

Liberals have pushed for EBT cards to be allowed at fast food restaurants like McDonald's - so much for them "trying to get kids to eat healthy".

No, I think your post will take the opposite position as Michelle Obama based not on logic but on partisanship or pure hatred, as you have clearly demonstrated here.

Why in the holy (*)(*)(*)(*) would anyone be against school meals being healthy? Your position makes zero sense. None at all.

That's where you're wrong... it's won't 'continue to be so' -- most schools have outlawed bringing sweets to school to celebrate birthdays, etc. Vending machines have either been removed or stocked with granola bars, soft drink machines have been filled with bottle water.

Consider yourself lucky to have had freedom of choice when you were in school. Thanks to the number of sheeple we have in this country today, it's doubtful your grandkids will know what a candy bar is.

    You didn't answer my question.

Do you think 'fat kids' embrace Michelle Obama's spotlight?

Or do you think they probably try to slink off into the background where they hope to go unnoticed?

The video does not mention the link or Michelle Obama. What part of that is not being understood?

Call me a liberal peon again. Do it. Show the world your argument has failed so pathetically you are resorting to name calling.

You are right. You know why I did not answer it? Because I think it is nothing more than a pathetic distraction where you are trying to redirect the argument away from your position's abject failure.

Your position is absolutely illogical. To not have school lunches be healthy is ridiculous.

Dwight D. Eisenhower and every president since then has supported healthy school lunch programs. It's only when Michelle Obama got involved that lefties decided she's the best thing since sliced bread.

    Oh wait... I said bread.

    Sorry, Michelle. I mean tofu.

You're just repeating the same lie even after it was debunked.

    1. The video mentioned a regulation that is part of an Obama admin legislation which SMW posted later in this thread.

    2. The regulation had nothing to do with "eating healthy", it lowered the number of allowed calories per lunch, it had nothing to do with regulating that the food be healthy foods, so that nonsense about "mainlining sugar" or whatever was just a lie on your part.

    3. It's already been established that the quality of meat used in school lunches is lower than even that of McDonald's, so the myth that the federal govt. is interested in kids "eating healthy" is nonsense. Most of the food is not healthy, the only thing the govt regulates is the quantity, not the quality.

You're a liberal peon because you continue to repeat the same lies and talking points even after they've been debunked.

Go on, claim that the legislation had anything to do with kids "eating healthy" so I can have a good laugh

From the YouTube link... video narrative: A parody on the national school lunch policy mandated by The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.

Yes, I agree, you are against it now because Michelle Obama is for it. I could have told you that.

LOL....WOW! Aren't you a pleasant person. Was I against the "Just say no to drugs" program? No, why would I be? How about this....how about Michelle has a "Just say no to fatty food" program....instead of changing the whole entire food lunch program into tasteless garbage that kids won't eat anyway! Educating kids to say no to drugs, and yes to nutritious food would be perfect! Informing is fine....FORCING IS NOT! Do you understand? Take a chill pill before answering.

To bad he was too busy memorizing Media Matters talking points verbatim to even bother to read that, even after being pointed it out several times.

I already debunked you - you didn't even bother to read the link and you kept repeating the same lie, as well as ignoring the link I provided about school lunches using worse quality meat than McDonald's.

The legislation regulated calories only, not the quality or health content of foods.

What are you arguing? That schools should serve more expensive, less nutritious food, because children have been conditioned to eat it?

What a ridiculous (*)(*)(*)(*)ing thread. This Obama Derangement Syndrome will hand that clown another term.

Nobody ever spent BILLIONS of dollars we don't have on a program where we already spend BILLIONS of dollars a year.

Just like Michelle to jump on a bandwagon that's been on the road for the last 50 years and pretend she invented the cause.
