Study the Roman empire, ancient Greece (and modern greece), pre revolution France, Egypt, Mayans, Aztecs, pre-breakup Russia, all broke down when the citizens started voting freebees for themselves or the ruling minority was brought down by the people.

what liberals fail to grasp is that under the system they claim to want, all the money and all the power would be concentrated in a tiny all-powerful minority of elites and everyone else would serve them. The rulers would decide how much money you need and what work you would be required to do.
