What you are watching is roughly 5 to 8 seconds delayed, always, it's just the nature of the transmission. The only way to avoid a delay is to shoot from the studio.
fox got 'big' by forcing cable providers to carry fox news and only fox news in their basic cable package. If you want real news you have to pay for the up graded packages.
In other words they forced poor people to watch them. And that is why fox is more like the National Enquirer than a real news source, they play to the trailer park.

I apparently just don't understand the outrage here. First, if it's live feed there's not much one can do about it, and I'm sure Fox News will issue some sort of apology for an offense they caused to viewers. Second, is this really any worse than other things we see on TV? Just watch COPS; I've seen plenty of shootings on that show and no one seems to blink an eye. Such is life (no pun intended), people commit suicide, murder and other atrocious acts on a daily basis...why are people getting their panties in a bunch over seeing this?

 

They already did, apparently. Shepard Smith himself apologized on Friday since the live feed happened on his watch and he apparently lives for those live car chases. Smith used the 5 second delay excuse as well. I understand that there is always a delay where live or streaming feed is involved, but 5 seconds is only 5 seconds. You can reach down to scratch your leg, pick your nose, scratch your ass, etc. in 5 seconds. Heck, Janet Jackson's live wardrobe malfunction happened in 5 seconds.

I'm just wondering where Craftsman was when all the news networks were showing 3000 people die as 9/11 happened and for weeks after, over and over again. Since he used to be in the business himself, he was probably busily making sure that we all saw those people die...over and over again. Hypocrite.

The thing nobody is mentioning is that this isnt really very graphic at all. My kids saw it and had no clue what happened. It took me a minute to realize he fell down cuz he just died. I mean, wearing pants like that a guy is gonna be fallin all over anyways, I mean, he fell once already just running in the open.

By the way, how do they keep their pants up at their knees without falling all the way down, especially w;hile running?

The clothes thing, low rider pants , hats on sideways or backwards USED to be a 'right of passage,' kids intentionally dressed to shock adults. Zoot suits of a bygone era. Pegged pants, and duck's ass haircuts were all about showing adults that "We the kids are different from you." Even the hippie movement was mostly about the same thing. So NOW if KIDS want to wear their pants down around their ass or wear a baseball cap backwards, no problem. Each generation has to struggle to find new outrageous ways to dress to shock adults. But this guy is/was 33. And this in now commonplace, older children, NOT ADULTS, just older children are still dressing like asses. They are way past the time to stop being children, but when Uncle Sam keeps supporting them and allowing them to have no reason to grow up while they grow older, it will only get worse. Now we have one fewer, hopefully, he had no children and is eligible for a Darwin Award.

Their focus is to show the news, at least more than the other partisan hacks at MSNBC, CNN, etc., but they dont want to show a person committing suicide, or murdered, shot dead, etc etc.
The thing is, often, but not always, as in this case, it can be very graphic. If a child sees it, it can be traumatizing. I refer to the live online beheading by the terrorists. Some of my friends watched it live, I begged them not to, but some did anyways. Now they said I was right, they cant get the image out of their head, and had nightmares about it for a while. You cant unring the bell.
It CAN really traumatize some, particularly kids. But in this case, it wasnt much graphic, and most kids wouldnt even know that he shot himself, it almost looked like he simply fell down, no blood, guts or brain matter spewing all over.
