    1) “I put out a five-point plan that gets America 12 million new jobs in four years and rising take-home pay.” The Washington Post’s in-house fact checker tore Romney’s claim that he will create 12 million jobs to shreds. The Post wrote that the “‘new math’” in Romney’s plan “doesn’t add up.” In awarding the claim four Pinocchios — the most untrue possible rating, the Post expressed incredulity at the fact Romney would personally stand behind such a flawed, baseless claim.

    2) “And I will not — I will not under any circumstances, reduce the share that’s being paid by the highest income taxpayers. And I will not, under any circumstances increase taxes on the middle-class.” As the Tax Policy Center concluded, Romney’s plan can’t both exempt middle class families from tax cuts and remain revenue neutral. “He’s promised all these things and he can’t do them all. In order for him to cover the cost of his tax cut without adding to the deficit, he’d have to find a way to raise taxes on middle income people or people making less than $200,000 a year,” the Center found.

    3) “It was a terrorist attack and it took a long time for that to be told to the American people.” Obama called the Libya incident an act of “terror” the very next day. “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for,” he said. “Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

    4) “We, of course, don’t want to have automatic weapons, and that’s already illegal in this country to have automatic weapons.” Automatic weapons are legal in this country.

    5) “I went to a number of women’s groups and said, ‘Can you help us find folks,’ and they brought us whole binders full of women. I was proud of the fact that after I staffed my Cabinet and my senior staff, that the University of New York in Albany did a survey of all 50 states, and concluded that mine had more women in senior leadership positions than any other state in America.” Romney did not ask women groups for candidates. Instead, prior to his election, a “bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government.” They “put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions” and presented it to Romney after he was elected. A UMass-Boston study found that “the percentage of senior-level appointed positions held by women actually declined throughout the Romney administration, from 30.0% prior to his taking office, to 29.7% in July 2004, to 27.6% near the end of his term in November 2006.”

    6) “He said he would have by now put forward a plan to reform Medicare and Social Security, because he pointed out they’re on the road to bankruptcy.” The possibility of Medicare going bankrupt is — and historically has been — greatly exaggerated. In fact, if no changes are made, Medicare would still be able to meet 88 percent of its obligations in 2085. Social Security is fully funded for another two decades and could pay 75 percent of its benefits thereafter. There is also an easy way to ensure the program’s long-term solvency without large changes or cuts to benefits.

    7) “I’m going to help women in America get good work by getting a stronger economy and by supporting women in the workforce.” Romney has been uncomfortably silent on the issue of pay equity. He has refused to say whether he’d support the Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that would allow women to sue for equal pay, and named four of the justices who voted to roll back equal pay in that Supreme Court decision as his models for any of his appointments to the federal bench.

    8) “I’d just note that I don’t believe that bureaucrats in Washington should tell someone whether they can use contraceptives or not. And I don’t believe employers should tell someone whether they could have contraceptive care of not. Every woman in America should have access to contraceptives.” But back in March, Romney expressed strong supportfor the so-called Blunt amendment, which that would allow employers to deny contraception coverage to women. Romney also wants to defund Planned Parenthood, where 76 percentof the patients seek low-cost birth control options. Defunding the organization would make it much harder for those women to obtain contraceptives.

Yep..... that's what Romney said, but I think he was feeling horribly nervous and insecure.

I can't believe anyone has the gall to support the presidents spin on Libya. Here is the speech in full. If you look at where the word "terror" appears in the speech it's clear (to me anyway) that he WAS NOT calling the attack a "terrorist attack". It's even more obvious when you take into consideration the presidents remarks on the view and Letterman. And then of course there's Rice's remarks... Anyway here it is:

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Every day, all across the world, American diplomats and civilians work tirelessly to advance the interests and values of our nation. Often, they are away from their families. Sometimes, they brave great danger.

Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I've also directed my administration to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.

Already, many Libyans have joined us in doing so, and this attack will not break the bonds between the United States and Libya. Libyan security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans. Libyans helped some of our diplomats find safety, and they carried Ambassador Stevens’s body to the hospital, where we tragically learned that he had died.

It's especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save. At the height of the Libyan revolution, Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi. With characteristic skill, courage, and resolve, he built partnerships with Libyan revolutionaries, and helped them as they planned to build a new Libya. When the Qaddafi regime came to an end, Chris was there to serve as our ambassador to the new Libya, and he worked tirelessly to support this young democracy, and I think both Secretary Clinton and I relied deeply on his knowledge of the situation on the ground there. He was a role model to all who worked with him and to the young diplomats who aspire to walk in his footsteps.

Along with his colleagues, Chris died in a country that is still striving to emerge from the recent experience of war. Today, the loss of these four Americans is fresh, but our memories of them linger on. I have no doubt that their legacy will live on through the work that they did far from our shores and in the hearts of those who love them back home.

Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day. I visited the graves of troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hallowed grounds of Arlington Cemetery, and had the opportunity to say thank you and visit some of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed. And then last night, we learned the news of this attack in Benghazi.

As Americans, let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases, lay down their lives for it. Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe.

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.

But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers. These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. They should give every American great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our flag represents to people around the globe who also yearn to live in freedom and with dignity.

We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory, and let us continue their work of seeking a stronger America and a better world for all of our children.

Thank you. May God bless the memory of those we lost and may God bless the United States of America.

See now you're just nit picking. Who cares when he said it or how. Obama will go after those who did it. Bush gave up on Bid laden completely, after all those we lost on American soil. Obama got Bin Laden. Where's the appreciation here? You do realize Libya happened over a video by right wing morons don't you?

I know. I don't get it. Obama already said the buck stops with him. He's the President and anyone who made mistakes that made it easier for the terrorists to successfully attack the embassy worked for him and therefore he takes the blame. What more do you want from him?

"We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others."

Anyone care to explain what this phrase is doing in this particular speech?

The problem is that Americans died because he failed to provide REQUESTED security. That's a problem. What's worse is that he lied to the American people. There's no doubt that he knew immediately that this was a terrorist attack and not a spontaneous riot. I can only guess that he thought the news of his utter failure to protect our people amid clear evidence of danger would damage his chances of being reelected.

If Obama said terrorists attacked the consulate in Benghazi the day after it happened why did he spend the next two weeks telling everyone (at the UN, on tv, through his shills, etc.) that a You Tube video that mocked Islam was the problem? He even had a small squad of probation officers detain this man, the man responsible for the video, in the middle of the night.

If Obama knew on 9/12 that Al Qaeda affiliated terrorists killed four Americans in Benghazi why lie about the atttack for the next two weeks? Sorry, quislings. The problem with Obama's story is Obama himself.

You are going to really suffer over the next 16 years of GOP rule. If the Romney admin brings the economy around like I think they will, progressives might as well immigrate to France because no one is ever going to take them seriously again after four years of Obamanomics.

They are trying to walk back the cover-up with the help of a media made up of lapdogs. Biden, in his debate, said that they claimed it was the video that caused the attack because it was what the intelligence community told them. Now, Obama says that he knew the next day that it was terrorism. They cannot get their lies straight. LOL!!!

In their defense, how do you keep so many lies straight? It seems very hard to do.

Obama called it terrorism, didn't he?

I think they were trying to keep the lid on and not make matters worse.

Again good luck with that when all you have for your base are a portion of the Rich and the duped. The internet making information readily available to the average voter is fast becoming your death knell as a party. So...lemme rock a LOL in your face. Lose the 1950s agenda or lose your place as a major party.

He mentioned US reaction to terror in general. He went out of his way not to call the assassination of the ambassador a terrorist act directly. This is the same administration that called a Muslim army officer's mass murder at Ft. Hood an act of workplace violence. Obama is loath to admit terror attacks during his only term.

That's the paranoid left for you. They literally cannot distinguish between reality and their own paranoid fantasies.
