I've noticed a disturbing trend. Some people seem to think our presidential candidates are Storm Gods, both engineering Hurricane Sandy to help their respective chances at winning the presidency. Where is this coming from?

Supposedly HAARP can control the weather. I don't know if that 'supposedly' refers to any supposition on the part of anyone who knows what they're talking about. But neither do I know that it doesn't. I don't really know how a TV works, to be honest.

Well, Russia does in the Moscow region manipulate the weather to a certain extent to avoid heaping snowfalls that stop the city, but...hurricanes, I don't know about.
It comes from the same kind of vapid, hyperpartisan conspriacy theorizing that brought us the Birther meme, the 9/11 truther movement, and a whole host of other bull(*)(*)(*)(*). A group of people who are utterly disconnected from reality, through means of the Internet becoming more noticeable or more numerable or both. And of course, with partisanship becoming more and more problematic in the US, the number of people who hold insane beliefs such as that one political party would manipulate the god(*)(*)(*)(*) weather to favor their goals seems to be going up.

I'm a fan of crazy conspiracy theories, especially the ones that I can't prove or disprove. Anyway, it seems unlikely to me that someone would use a weather control machine against Wall Street. If anyone has access to such a thing, it would be the extremely wealthy, and why would they use it against themselves? Then again, rich people do crazy stuff. So who knows.
Y'know, weather control devices are probably pretty expensive. Wouldn't it be cheaper just to manufacture an imaginary storm in the media? People believe what they see on TV so much that if you told them there was a storm, they would operate as though that were reality and never notice that their weather was fine.

I swear to god, before I entered your thread - the word "trend" or "pattern" was on my mind. this is no coinsidence, it's a sign, that god is not happy with this filth, ONCE or twice could be a coinsidence, but this happened for GOP convention, dem convention and now before election. this is no joke.
HAARP works in conjunction with chemical dumps of aluminum, barium, in the forms of lines in the sky for the storm to follow. HARRP signatures have been been pegging off the scale this week and the past week. We'll have another storm several days behind Sandy to for the purposes of keeping democratic voter turnout as low as possible.
