Is being Jewish a matter of genetics or faith? Is it a race/culture or a religion?

I never really could figure that out. At times, I have been critical of the gov't of Israel and been called, "anti-semetic," as if I was some kind of "joo-hater." I come from a place where government is separate from religion. I never understood the co-relation between the two.

I'm no expert, but "christianity" wasn't even invented until 300 years after Jesus had already passed. How could he be "christian?"

During his lifetime, Jesus was Jewish. There was no such thing as Christian. Even now, even if you believe that he was ressurected, he is not Christian. Christian means "little Christ", and he is the big Christ.
