California municipalities, forced to choose between public safety and public employee pensions, are laying off cops.

Adding insult to injury is the Democratic propensity to favor gun confiscation.

Looks like California will become niorvana for crooks: few cops, an unarmed populace to victimize.

How do you maintain order without cops?

How do you enforce gun confiscation without cops?

San Bernardino is rapidly becoming Bartertown.

    Who run Bartertown?

Most Democratic states actually have very lax gun control, so I'm not seeing the "propensity for gun confiscation."

Did you actually read the article you linked to? Somehow I doubt it or if you did then you missed a few things such as the reason the cops were laid off was due to the fact that the city was bankrupt and the pension comes up because being in bankruptcy they stopped paying on the pensions they agreed to pay, which by the way is now in the courts hands. I would think they will have to find a solution and until then work with the officers they do have.

As for your second claim, maybe you missed the fact that the article was stating Opinion not that anyone has actually passed any new laws pertaining to gun ownership, maybe the writer should have stuck to the facts and kept their own personal opinion out of reporting news. You seem to confuse what you believe to be true with what is actually true, a common mistake many people make.

They get confused because they actually believe their own propaganda that the evil Libs are trying to take our guns away, at the end the article simply rambles off into Opinion and away from facts, another common issue with media these days.

Perhaps if police resources weren't wasted on locking people up for minor drug offenses, there would be more money for dealing with the serious violence issues discussed.

When government cannot maintain public order, why have a government at all?

Less police does not necessarily mean more chaos.

It depends on the area. To keep things relatively orderly in NYC, for example, they spend more on police than the entire military budget of Pakistan.

LA could probably use more of a police presence, but then again, LA could also probably use more police reform, since racism still lingers in many forces in that area.

And as for places like Stockton and Riverside... they might be lost causes.
