There is no way Obama's new laws are going to pass in the GOP-controlled House. And Democrats in the Senate are going to be forced to vote on an issue which is a "third rail." Harry Reid, ultra-liberal, has been pretty consistent in the past with his pro-gun views. He even voted to build a federally paid for shooting range in Clark County, God knows why. So what's Harry going to do now?
No, any Republican who votes against the Second Amendment will lose his job. They will not vote for this.

Times have changed. And President Obama and Vice President Biden are smart enough to NOT ask for complete gun control, or for making ALL guns illegal. They are asking for a LOGICAL, middle of the road and broad basis plan to be put in action, and many of what they are asking for (including thorough background checks and registration of the guns, but also RESEARCH on the cause and the real statistics related to gun violence . . .which the NRA has successfully blocked in the past), have the support of EVERY Reasonable person in America, EVEN a majority of gun owners. Once again, you are fighting for a lost cause. . .sooner or later (whether it passes this year, or after the next election), the gun lobby will have to give up to reason and to the concern of parents.
No, any Republican who votes for gun control will lose to a primary opponent. They know this well, so this will go nowhere.
