When you can't express your thoughts clearly, you're the one with the issues.

What would the gay community do if they did come out with a pill that cured homosexuality? My guess it they would protest it and try to stop the FDA from approving it.

And sure, I know that not all gays fall under the stereotypical flaming gay man who is effeminate. I don't even know what percentage that would be. But you can't blame me for that stereotype, blame your fellow gays who act that way. Their clownish moronic behavior gives a bad name to homosexuals.

I had a group of friends who I used to hang out with that included a gay guy. He made passes at straight men all the time, and his behavior was such that I just stopped hanging out with the entire group. Once when I was younger, I was in the military and I was in uniform walking to a Burger King in San Francisco and some old fart made a pass at me in front of a large crowd. While I felt humiliated I didn't say anything out of respect of the uniform I was wearing. But it was he that should have been humiliated for his rediculous public behavior.

This is the problem with gays is they are so fixated on sex 24/7. I don't see much restraint on the part of gays in real life or on TV. Gays on TV no matter what the subject matter always are making sexual comments and inuendos. It doesn't matter if it is a drama, talk show or a reality show. Pay attention next time you watch TV and tell me I'm wrong. People hate having that crap thrown it their face constantly.

Exactly!...and since there isn't a way to alter sexual orientation, there is no reason to hold that against anyone.

No, the prejudiced (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s are to blame. Are women to blame for the stereotype that they're bad at math?

Yeah... No. Hate to break it to you, but you're extrapolating from society's stereotypes and your own (extremely limited) knowledge of homosexuals in reality.

Yes. And you don't think that has anything to do with, say, overarching cultural stereotypes, combined with your extreme oversensitivity to homosexual flirting where it wouldn't even be noticeable coming from a straight person?

'cured homosexuality'? Well we only cure adverse medical conditions. What if a pill that changed melanin content so that black people would become 'white'- do you think there might be some questions about the 'need' for such a cure?[/QUOTE]

But lets just say that such a 'cure' happened- I imagine a lot of gay's would take advantage of it. After all, from what I have seen, no one particularly wants to be part of a minority who is regularly discriminated against and threatened with physical violence.

I can't blame you for the stereotype- but I can blame you for making it a stigma. You think its a bad thing- having been around tons of queens, I can say if I have to choose between a redneck bigot and a flaming queen, its an easy choice to make.

The thing about stereo types is that there is usually a kernal of truth- at least someone from that minority does that action- so yes there are bad asian drivers, and yes there are women who get more emotional from PMS. But it is up to each of us whether we choose to assume that stereotype is how we should judge all of that minority, and it each of our choices on whether to perpetuate the negative stereotypes. You choose yes, I choose no.

Really? See, I have in all of my years in San Francisco never had that happen to me. Other than random gay guys in a gay bar I haven't been hit on. I have quite a few 'gay' friends- and I don't know any of them who have made advances on any men they knew were straight. Now of course single straight men? There is at least one in each group that makes advances on any woman with a pulse. Because men act that way.

And if it were an old man making a pass at a young gal in a large crowd, it would have been different how? I have seen old men making fools of themselves trying to pick up women 30 years younger than themselves in public places. Men often are idiots.

The problem with homophobes is that this is what they believe. First of all is the issue of the stereotype and secondly is the issue of pure ignorance.

I finally got the mindset figured out when I finally figured this simple thing out:

Gay men act just like straight men- its just that Gay men are approaching potential partners who think just like they do.

This is the fundamental issue- Men think of sex alot. Gay men, Straight men- we think of it alot. Yet Gay men run successful business's and so do Straight men- somehow we manage to get things done even though our testosterone is telling us to find something to screw.

You hate having that crap thrown in your face. Not people- you. The only reason gay characters are 'out' in so many shows is because the shows are popular.

And why do you care whether 'gay's show restraint in their personal lives? Why should everyone have your Puritanical restraints? But fyi- every gay man I know has just fine 'personal restraints' and you wouldn't even know that most of them are gay unless they bizarrely decided to share it with you.

    Man alive.

I had to do a double take on this.

    He actually said "

    and .

That is freakin' amazing to me.

Gays are fixed on sex 24/7?...the average heterosexual man and homosexual man think about sex exactly as soften, every 15 seconds. Gay and straight women, I'm told not as much.

The other problem is because he's offended by gay people talking about sex, he just notices it more when gay people talk about it. So he thinks they talk about it more often.

I can bet that guy doesn't have one gay friend in the world, and if he does, he doesn't say stuff like that to them

Your video imbeds don't work. Stop with it already.

Also, there are plenty of things humans do that are out of the normal range. I'm left handed, which isn't normal. The world is designed for right handed people, and as such I suppose I'm throwing that in your face, by demanding left handed scissors or something. Certainly by telling you. And I suppose that my silly lefty demands to be allowed out of my house while being left handed are trouble as well. Imagine left-handers in schools, on the job, in NFL locker rooms, or on the pitching staff of the St. Louis Cardinals. The horror.

Point being that there are a lot of ways people deviate from normal. Girls aren't supposed to like sports, guys shouldn't like home decorating. Living human beings are not normal. None of us, not even you. There's something about you that is out of the mainstream. That alone does not make it a mental illness. What makes it a mental illness is that it makes you unable to function. If you can be a girl who likes sports and still be a productive happy human being, you aren't mentally ill. If you can be gay and still happy healthy and productive, congratualtions on not being mentally ill. Unless it impairs your ability to live a normal life, you aren't mentally ill.

It's not a matter of inability, but of the awareness that I'm talking to someone whose interest is not in reasoned discussion, but in cultivating and nurturing confusion, towards which end any elaboration I might provide would be expropriated by you and your ilk.

No doubt it appears that way from the perspective of those for whom, as Charles Manson observed, no sense makes sense.

dixon76710 Thank you for pointing out the details of that study. Seeing the numbers, I don't know what to make of the study. I accept your evaluation as it's clear that homosexuality is something that is important to you.

You can use the "Watch on YouTube" button. It's quite funny.

Yes we have already established that being left-handed (I too am left handed) is not a mental illness, so why bother comparing it to homosexuality? There are a lot of people with illnesses who are productive in society, that is not to say that there is no need to treat their illnesses.
As usual you have said too much. So let me give a compressed response. Being gay is not the same as being black. Stereotype/stigma, whatever, not my problem or fault. I too am against violence. What's wrong with rednecks? I agree men act that way, but your kidding yourself if you think gays don't hit on straights. If it never happened to you then you are unattractive or there is no such thing as "gaydar". I thought the man was extremely disrepectful to the uniform I was wearing too as this was before DADT. As a straight man I can honestly say I've never done stupid things like that to the opposite sex ever. I have never met a gay guy that did not show that he was gay in some overt fashion. In other words, I have never been introduced to a gay guy that I didn't already know he was gay. You know what I mean? This is one reason I don't have gay friends. It is annoying. I have gay aquaitances. Don't care for them enough to befriend them. I might if they didn't act so gay all the time. But if I wanted I could have gay friends, I don't care what people do in the bedroom. Could you have a friend that believes that being gay is a mental disorder? If you know he feels that way, and doesn't constantly throw that idea in your face, could you be friends with that person? I could be friends with gays, I just hate that they throw that in your face all the time.
By the way I meant to ask, regarding Chris Culliver, is one ugly with an "f" or an "n"? I'll assume you meant with an "f".

Apparently you are if you're suggesting it should be back in the DSM, with money, time and effort being thrown at it to treat it as a serious problem that needs to be fixed. Keep in mind why something gets in the DSM in the first place, as a clinical manual for research and treatment of inhibiting conditions and diseases. Suggesting that it should be in there is, at the same time, suggesting how serious you believe it is to require the time, effort and money for treatment, which could be instead diverted to much more worthy causes.

It's gays/lesbians :toilet: whose sexual behaviors involve playing with turds. Dr. Paul Drummond Cameron has talked about the dangers of gay/lesbian behaviors :toilet: and many gays get 'gay bowel syndrome' because they lose bowel functions. Many gays and lesbians who commit suicide do so because they often were childhood sex abuse victims and many have other copathologies such as antisocial conduct, drugs, etc. Sex abuse especially homosexual rape in youth is major cause of homosexual behaviors-to deny it is dishonest, delusional or both. It remains to be seen how many of Jerry Sandusky's victims think they're gay because of this. Homosexual/lesbian sexual behaviors are bad for health often as result of childhood sex abuse though there possibly other causes such as birth defect though they've not conclusively proven gayism's inborn.

It's also been established that homosexuality is not an illness or disorder as well.

No, I could not be friends with someone who felt so little of me to think I'm mentally disordered, when it has been estblished that I am not.

    Seriously? Wow.

Actually, lesbians have the lowest rate of STD's, less than gay men, and less than heterosexuals. Perhaps you should be be endorsing lesbianism, if your argument is solely based on STD transmissions.

So, I'm sure you have a link to an actual scientific study to back up that absurd hypothesis, yes? My wife is bisexual. She was never raped as a child, by a person of either gender. Yet she has known, from the age of 9, that she was bi. Do you care to explain that based upon your thesis? (Do you need me to define that word for you?)

I answered that in the rest of the post that you apparently didn't read. The point is that abnormality does not mean mental illness. What it means is that it's not typical human behavior, as in if you took 100 people, the majority would not be doing that. that's all abnormal means when you get down to it -- that most people don't do things that way. It has nothing to do with mental illness or not. Mental illness means that it impairs your ability to FUNCTION. If you can't hold a job because you're an http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraphilic_infantilism]adult baby and cannot dress in adult clothing, you're mentally ill. If you think you're Paris Hilton, you're mentally ill, because it interferes with normal human functioning. If it doesn't impair you, it's not an illness.

As to whether things are being thrown in your face -- I don't think they are. People are just asking each other out on a date, but when a guy asks a girl you don't notice as much as when a guy asks a guy. Stuff that gets a pass when a guy does it with a girl doesn't when a guy does the same with another guy.

And as for being able to tell right away, how is that you could tell but gaydar doesn't exist? It's one or the other guy.
