    Right-winger: Global warming isn't real

Haughty British Left-winger idiot on this forum: You're stupid. You know nothing about science

    ----------------------------

So I'm not denying climate change is real, nor affirming it. That's irrelevant. The question is why do liberals on here who don't have degrees in science act is if they are on the front-lines in the scientific field?

So I read some articles on the internet, maybe have a subscription to national geographic. Reading about science is a hobby for me, or in the case of a left-winger it might be my life because it's likely I'm a welfare queen and have nothing to do but watch the Discovery Channel all day. Sorry, off topic in my own thread. Anyways you can choose to believe in global warming, or you can choose not to. Personally I choose to believe in it because most scientists do seem to think it's real.

But your belief doesn't make you an expert in science, giving you the right to wield your "superior knowledge" (I read Huffington Post today and they say it's real!) like you're actually more intelligent than the non-believers. They have as many reasons to believe global warming is a hoax or overrated than you do to believe it isn't, and you're not a professional so who are you to call the other side an idiot?

So next time we have a debate, let's stick to the arguments for and against global warming without being arrogant. Thanks uneducated self-declared scientific expert liberals.

    Irony? ya

Yeah, there's definitely some irony in that post.

Actually, some of us do in fact have degrees in physics, mathematics, and engineering.

    Just saying...

A highly esteemed english teacher would know that, of course. His superior brain capacity detects something that most people just don't pick up on!

Yes, but I'm referring to the hordes whose knowledge comes from Science Magazine or Huffington Post opinion articles

Hypocrisy doesn't require superior "brain capacity" to spot; it does take a bit of self-awareness though.

Don't bother. Not sure why my profession intimidates you, but it's pretty sad.

In college, you live like a child. So you wind up with the mind of a child. Also, you desperately look up to professors as father figures. They are intellectual pedophiles and can rape immature minds with any nasty Ivory Tower alarmist fantasy that putrifies in that sheltered echo chamber.

Conservatives have turned this in to a political issue and their uneducated constituents eat it all up. Majority of scientists believe there is a change in the atmosphere that is man made. That's all I care about. I don't need to know the science myself or be told by the media what I should believe based on some political party they adhere too. Let experts make expert decisions.

You have one of the weirdest obsessions with college graduates I've ever seen, lol.

On the Internet, "weird" means "standing up to slogans incessantly pounded into you from childhood on," or "I've never been told that before, so it must be stupid." In other words, a classic Big Lie. If it had been first proposed today, it would have been answered with, "What! You want us to go four years without a job in order to get a job? What are you trying to pull? Are the richkids going to have to live like that? If we have to do it on our own, so must they."

A college diploma means the same thing that a Communist Party membership card did in the Soviet Union, with the same results. It must be replaced with highly paid professional training. I know perfectly well that the Internet is dominated by college graduates. They have nothing to be proud of just because they got a good job. Have they done a good job? And, even selfishly, how is it worth it to sacrifice your youth and cause permanent psychological damage just to make money afterwards? If Liberals have the right to insult Conservatives and vice versa, I have a right to insult the majority of Netties by repeating that College education is a fraud and should not be rewarded
If we don't pay people while they are in college, we get what we pay for. Since Diploma Dumboes aren't very good at understanding things, that means, "We pay nothing, we get nothing." All we get is no-talent conformist brown-noses, spoiled preppy bullies, and a few self-hating escapist nerds who have no problem living like children in college because they are afraid to grow up. In order to make prostitutes out of people, first you have to put them through a rape room.

I'm not sure why the idea of climate change is somehow a left/right issue in the minds of many people on PF. This negates the whole idea of looking at the issue from a neutral scientific stance. Since I am well-educated but not a climatologist, I have to rely on scientific analysis and check as to whether it is supported by scientific data (which in climate change terms always has to be aggregate and over time).

By that standard, the evidence for climate change is much stronger than the evidence against climate change. Wishing that wasn't the case and listening only to the 5% on the negative side of the issue (the most prominent of which are receiving monetary support from lobbies opposed to climate change action) is thus not being analytical or scientific.

It is quite true that Bush obstructed and removed what science had to say on the subject. Seems public scrutiny is the last thing he wanted. Perhaps allow the scrutiny, and something good comes from it? Like 9/11...have a REAL investigation as to what really happened, and be done with it. It leads users of common sense to draw their own conclusions as so why something is stifled to begin with. Somebody refuses details about something, or lies, I generally go with NOT believing the offending party. Global warming is such an example.

Did something bad happen to arrest your education after grade school?

Some might call that an inferiority complex. I couldn't possibly comment!
