I do not degenerate for a second the brilliant efforts of the Brits or Canadians or even the Soviets. I did not say we won the war alone. But how would the allies have won WWII without the United States? The only possible way would be if the failed historic relic, the Soviet Union had spread its horrid failed policies everywhere. Then all of Europe could have lived in the hopeless despair and poverty of East Germany and the other Central European satellites of the Evil Empire. But then of course without the US. fighting on the Western Front and in the pacific the Soviets could not have won squat anyway.

Firstly, the US foreign aid program, as has already been demonstrated is pathetic relative to GDP. Innumerable countries give more. And most of the US's foreign aid goes to Israel.

My comments on the Marshall plan? Did the US not owe the Japanese people reconstruction after they practically destroyed the country and continued bombing them even after Hiroshima and Nagasaki and after they had already surrendered? Read the discussions of the administration at the time. They reconstructed Japan to bring it into the orbit of US power and economics. They feared if left alone it would associate itself with China. So please don't tell me the US did it out of some sort of divine magnanimity. You don't fire bomb and raze an entire country, then drop atomic bombs, then continue to bomb after surrender, if your real intentions are generosity and internationalist concern. States are not moral agents. When are you going to get that through your skull?

The US gave 400,000 lives in World War II? Well, aside from the fact that the US has wiped out 10 times as many people in the post-war interregnum, even if they were as you would have us believe, the champions of freedom and democracy and generosity and internationalist benevolence, if number of dead proves it then what do you make of the 8-10 million Soviet deaths in that same war?

Since the late '80's Egypt has received on average about $2 billion per year, about 1.3 billion of that is for military aid. Israel gets about 5.5 billion in a variety of aid, about half of that is military. To put this in a bit of perspective, the cost of the Iraq war per month at it's peak was about $9 billion.
