Hello all, my name is David, but I post online as Sylverlokk, a corruption of the name Silverlock which is the title of a classic fantasy novel. I am 46, work from home, and play tons of computer games and MMO's as well as reading, mostly sci fi and horror. I am a natural homebody by inclination. I am a Yankee politically, which means I have a strong faith in government as an institution of public good despite its flaws, and in shared self sacrifice to improve common good. Economically I believe in Controlled Capitalism, which is using the Market forces of Capitalism for good but also recognizing its flaws and severity and minimizing those via laws and regulations.
Welcome to the Forum Sylverlokk. I think government is neither intrinsically good or bad but tends to become overbearing if not regulated because power corrupts. The Founders understood this and created the Constitution in order to limit government power.
Welcome! We are growing in leaps and bounds. We hope you stay with us. It's an addictive forum. I think sometimes members forget we are a worldwide forum and we have many people lurking before they sign up. I was shaking in my boots when I joined. Now, while I may not be popular, I am nice!!! Hello all! I go by 'spookytooth', no reference to the sixties band; just happen to like the name. I'm a photographer, writer, designer, student, researcher, and Independent thinker; by that I mean no political entity, government, religion, institution, or group owns nor controls my thoughts / reasoning. I am niether hardline conservative nor moderately liberal, I judge (yes I do actually DO that) arguements, policies, platforms, agendas, philosophies, etc., on their viability according to honesty, ethics, honor, and truth and form my points of view accordingly. I'm curious to find out what is being discussed on this forum and perhaps add my thoughts to the mix.
