It's so surreal the difference in these videos, in one you see a group of young men, dancing in celebration (to a Western-style song no less) because they have presumably defended their homes from the rebel forces. In the other video, you see a group of extremists chant "allah ackbar" in response to their victory.

This war is by no means a good versus evil conflict, both sides are guilty of war crimes. While I am suspicious of Al-Assad due to his previous aggressive approach to Israel, I respect that he is a patriotic man to his country.

Here's hoping that the foreign and radical element of the Syrian Rebels is defeated and the current regime and protesters can sit down and try to resolve their differences.

SAA has no hate in their eyes, just normal Syrian guys fighting for their country.

FSA are like deranged dogs. The amount of allahu akbars in every one of these videos is overwhelming. It is like these idiots are at a competition on who will yell the most allahu akbar phrases within a minute. On one of the videos on youtube I actually counted 45 allahu akbars within 70 seconds. Simply unbelievable! These are the guys who say they will bring freedom to Syria, LOL!

People need to seriously wake up. There is no reason why anyone person in the West should support FSA. There are a 1000 reasons on why they should support SAA.
If FSA win, Europe is screwed. All the deranged foreign jihadis will go to Europe by the hundreds to wreak havoc.

p.s. Israel better hope Assad wins. Better 1 Assad and 1 Syrian Army near Israel, than 1000 different jihadi groups and al-qaeda aiming their guns at Israel.

Sadly, its not the Western people who support the FSA, its the governments of our countries- quite inexplicably of course, but it seems to be some sort of backwards Cold War mentality of "we'll just back the guys who the Russians don't like" . Most people I know, whether they be Conservative or Liberal, advocate non-interventionism in Syria or some sort of assistance for Assad because he is viewed by some to be a stabilizing force in the region.

I support the self-determination of the Syrian people, and it seems, that Assad has majority support from the Syrians with the Christians, Shias and more liberally minded Sunni's supporting him. Hopefully, Syria can do the world a favor and stop Islamic Jihad. Just don't let them win, fight them to the last if need be.

You stated and I quote this from above....QUOTE..." I told him if the Taliban escaped North they'd would be in confrontation with Russian Army in Tajikistan. He did not choose to respond to that."

YES I DID RESPOND AND DETAIL this issue....IN POST #52 of this topic....Most Taliban headed to the Eastern boarder with Pakistan but a very large number of Taliban were cut off and were forced to move North East where Peshawar or Pekhawar, is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is the administrative center and central economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.

You stated...quote...."8th Parallel has 0 significance in Afghanistan, and has never been mentioned by any military commander, soldier, or media outlet on this planet."

    PROVE THIS!

The fact is your statement here details your ignorance of how soldiers and other people use LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE as a coordinate system to BE ABLE TO KNOW WHERE TO GO AND WHERE WE ARE AND WHAT AREA TO DEFEND OR ATTACK!

For you to state what you have is BEYOND......... as we use Latitude designations of territory ALL THE TIME!

You stated this...quote..."Just like his claims that 56 American soldiers managed to kick out every single Taliban member out of Afghanistan when a 100,000 Soviets couldn't do that. How can anyone listen to his views, when he has a mentality of a 5 year old child. Proven to be a total laughing stock."

    This link PROVES MY STATEMENT....http://www.groups.sfahq.com/5th/02_01_06__green_berets_outfought.htm

Members of Green Beret team Tiger 03 spot Taliban targets for U.S. warplanes.

ZARD KAMMAR, Afghanistan — For nearly a month, John and nine other Green Beret soldiers directed wave after wave of American warplanes against Taliban targets in the hills, ridges and mountaintops of northern Afghanistan.
Within days, the Taliban began surrendering and defecting, telling their captors and journalists that the rain of bombs left them no choice. "They killed many people. ... We are afraid to die," Taliban soldier Muhammad Shah told USA TODAY after he surrendered outside Kunduz in late November.

U.S. Special Forces "A" teams — usually 12 soldiers each — began arriving in Afghanistan after the U.S. bombing campaign started Oct. 7. Also known as Green Berets, the Special Forces teams are trained to operate behind enemy lines, work with local forces, conduct humanitarian missions and perform sensitive assignments such as working with the CIA.

John's team, Tiger 03, was credited by task force commanders with killing more than 1,300 Taliban fighters, destroying a total of 50 tanks, anti-aircraft guns, artillery pieces and command and control bunkers. The team helped rout the Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorist network in northern Afghanistan and eventually in the capital of Kabul.

DID YOU READ THIS!!!??? 12 Green Beret's from Tiger 03, KILLED 1300 TALIBAN FIGHTERS!!!!

I have provided links, statements and detailed information backing my statements.

You have provided ZERO PROOF and zero links to back yours.

We are up against a massive jihadi invasion in proportions never seen before. Not even the Soviets in Afghanistan faced such a massive jihadi network of foreign fighters. Our economy has been dismantled by the terrorists and the oil fields are under terrorist control. People in Aleppo are starving because of Al-Qaeda blockade on half the city.

Despite all this the fight still continues. All Christians, Shias, Alawites, Secular Sunnis know that this is a battle for their survival. If FSA win, then it is all over when it comes to a civilized society in Syria. It will be similar to Taliban in Afghanistan but a 1000 times worse in proportions. The rebels are already destroying Shia mosques and Christian churches. They have a Saudi fatwa allowing the rebels to rape all Syrian women for pleasure, even young girls. Saudi Arabia has released it's convicts who were serving time for murder and rape, and is sending them to Syria to wage jihad. This is the kind of future that they are planning for Syria. The Western governments are morons and need to be put under a tribunals for these atrocities. They are turning a blind eye to extermination of religious and ethnic minorities in Syria, those who have lived peacefully for centuries.

Despite all this, the fight continues. Syrian Army is gaining back ground in Homs and Damascus. The situation in Aleppo, Idlib, and Raqqah is dire. 300 Kurdish civilians being tortured as we speak now and are being preparing for execution in Raqqah by Al-Nusra. Only positive news is that the Kurds have completely decided to fight against FSA - Al Nusra gangsters in Aleppo. Thousands of Kurds are coming into Syria from Turkey and Iraq to try to part in rescue of 300 civilians in Raqqah. I am praying they will be able to rescue them.

Here is one more video of SAA for you. Hope you like it.

Just to expand upon just how ignorant of the realities you are SyrianGirl...if you look at the post previous to this one where I provided a link and quoted some information about a single U.S. Special Forces Green Beret Team with only 12 members that was credited with killing 1300 Taliban Fighters and much other Taliban weaponry...this Special Forces team was able to do this in a manner that I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO YOU....but unfortunately rather than LEARN SOMETHING you chose to keep your eyes and ears closed as you ideology got in the way of your ability to REASON AND UNDERSTAND.

We were able to be dropped deep in country and at first there was only 56 pairs of U.S. Boots on the ground in Afghanistan. We were supported by EVERYTHING the U.S. Air Force other service branches Aircraft had to offer....as well we had our own guy's flying at night in AC-130 Spectre Gunships. This next link is an actual video of an AC-130 Spectre performing operations in Afghanistan LINK....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsA9VtQ_uLg

Even with only 56 TOTAL American's...and this number would grow to a total of 998 U.S. Special Forces...but with JUST 56 Guy's and Laser Targeting Markers and a Sat. Phone and Cell Phone and Radio....we were able to drive out the Taliban from Kabul, kill tens of thousands of Taliban....drive then both North East and South West into Pakistan....and the Taliban siting and waiting for American Ground Forces in the open rocky terrain of Afghanistan quickly ended up DEAD...as our guy's in aircraft such as the AC-130 Spectre would just stay flying on station at night and take their time killing one by one of the Taliban.

This Syrian Girl is what you either can't understand or refuse to understand....but the TALIBAN certainly understood as many would surrender with their hands in the air when a U.S. UNMANNED DRONE would fly overhead!

Taliban that surrendered explained that they did so because they could not take the stress and fear of sitting in a ditch or behind a boulder as per the orders of their superiors waiting for the arrival of American Soldiers...when night after night and day after day they would just watch their buddies die being the victims of High Tech American Weapons.

One Taliban interviewed stated that the worse part was when it got DARK as they knew the U.S. Aircraft would come and kill all that could be found. This Taliban member stated that at first he didn't understand that the American's could see him at night as he didn't either know or understand what Infra Red Light or IR-Light Detectors were as the Americans could see the Taliban and with aircraft such as the AC-130 Spectre...fly above an entire area that the Taliban were disbursed waiting for U.S. Troops.

The fact is...at one time only 56 U.S. Special Forces were on the ground in Afghanistan....and those 56 Men did what 100,000 Russian Troops could not do....rout the Afghanistan Force.

As well Syrian Girl I posted THIS....

I know A GREAT DEAL about Syria, it's people, how it is primarily a Sunni Population by Assad just like his Father is Alawite thus Shia...which is a small minority of the Syrian Population....how he ordered a mass crackdown and military sieges on protesters during the Arab Spring.

His Military credentials are a JOKE as he entered in 1994 the military academy at Homs, north of Damascus, and was propelled through the ranks to become a colonel in January 1999 which was an UNDESERVED PROMOTION. To establish a power base for Bashar in the military, old divisional commanders were pushed into retirement, and new, young, Alawite officers with loyalties to him took their place.

By taking charge of Syrian affairs in Lebanon he pushed former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri aside, by not placing his political weight behind his nomination as prime minister.

Under Bashar, Syrian corruption in Lebanon, which was already estimated at $2 billion per year in the 1990s, became more rampant and was publicly exposed with the collapse in 2003 of the Lebanese Al-Madina bank. Al-Madina Bank was used to launder kickback money in the illegal gaming of the UN's Iraqi oil-for-food programme. Sources put the amount transferred and laundered through al-Madina at more than $1 billion, with a 25 percent commission going to Syrian officials and their Lebanese allies, among the recipients of this money were Bashar Assad's brother Maher, Emile Lahoud's son-in-law Elias Murr, and Ghazali.

Assad has stolen...VAST amounts of money from the Syrian People. By July 2012, according to analysts, Assad had amassed for himself, his family and associates a fortune of perhaps $1.5bn, which is held in Russia, Hong Kong and offshore tax havens to spread the risk of seizure.

Human Rights groups, such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, have detailed how Bashar's government and secret police routinely tortured, imprisoned, and killed political opponents, and those who speak out against the government. Since 2006 it expanded the use of travel bans against dissidents. In that regard, Syria is the worst offender among Arab states.

Your response to me was....This is my final response to you. I will not reply to any of your ludicrous posts on any thread on this forum.

You can spew your nonsense and b.s. to other people who can be fooled due to not being informed. That nonsense will not work on a native Syrian who lived there all her life.

First of all you have not lived there all your life as you are not currently living in Syria.

Secondly....you state I am posting nonsense and it is a ludicrous.

EVERYTHING I HAVE POSTED HERE IS A FACT!

    PROOF....LINK....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bashar_al-Assad

Now EVERYTHING I have posted can be crosschecked by this link and a host of many other links including the link to the U.N. Human Rights Group and the U.N. Food for Oil Program Abuses...as Assad stole a great deal pf money from this program.

PROVE WHAT I STATED IS FALSE OR RETRACT YOUR STATEMENTS!

    MODERATORS TAKE NOTE.

Another cockroach bites the dust in Syria

Pittsburgh man reportedly dead in Syria

CAIRO — An American-Egyptian man born in Pittsburgh is missing in Syria and reported dead in fighting between Islamic militants and Kurdish militia.
If true, Amiir Farouk Ibrahim, 32, would be the second American known to have been killed in Syria's civil war.

Family members said he traveled to Turkey in February or March and later crossed into Syria, where Syrian rebels and foreign Islamist fighters have battled government troops for more than two years.
Ibrahim told his parents that he was providing humanitarian assistance there, although his father said he did not believe that.
His Facebook page contains numerous references in support of radical Islamists.
Ibrahim's U.S. and Egyptian passports — and passports of 14 other men from several Middle Eastern countries — were recovered in northeast Syria after a battle between Syrian Kurdish militiamen and militants from al-Sham and the Islamic State of Iraq, a terrorist group formerly known as al-Qaida in Iraq.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based Syrian opposition group, posted photographs of Ibrahim's passports on its Facebook page on Monday. The group said it did not know whether anyone survived an “intense” battle between opposing Syrian forces.
Contacted at their Cairo home by the Tribune-Review, Ibrahim's family said they were unaware of the Internet postings. They appeared shocked and devastated at the news.
One of his brothers later called a Trib reporter to say that a friend told him that Ibrahim was killed in Syria.
State Department, Homeland Security and other federal officials in Washington declined to comment or said they were unaware of Ibrahim's status or whereabouts.
‘He wanted to spread the Dawa'
Ibrahim was born Oct. 30, 1980, in Pittsburgh, according to his U.S. passport and his family.
His father, Farouk, worked for Pullman Swindell, a Pittsburgh-based steel-industry engineering firm now known as Swindell-Dressler. The elder Ibrahim attended the University of Pittsburgh, and the family had lived in Western Pennsylvania for 14 years, he said.
They moved to Saudi Arabia two years after Ibrahim was born, as the steel industry began to falter, and returned to Egypt eight years later.
Ibrahim lived with his parents and other family members in Heliopolis, a middle-class to upscale section of Cairo.
In 2003, he returned to the United States to attend Columbus State Community College in Ohio. He enrolled at Tallahassee Community College before transferring to Florida International University in Miami. In 2008, he received a bachelor's degree in business administration, according to school officials.
His father described him as intelligent — graduating from FIU with a 3.4 grade-point average — and as very involved in Islamic activities.
“He wanted to stay in Florida; he wanted to spread the Dawa,” or the call to Islam, the elder Ibrahim said. “We played a trick on him and brought him back here.”
In Cairo, he worked at an Islamic university, according to his mother, Fatimah.
    ‘He couldn't hurt anybody'
Both parents described their son as kind, gentle, loving and respectful.
After he “met a couple of Turkish guys who wanted him to go into the software business,” his father said, Ibrahim moved to Turkey about five months ago. He later told his family that he was in Syria, helping people to escape the fighting.
Angry and worried, Ibrahim's father said he refused to speak to his son whenever he called home, although other family members talked with him.
“He was calling me and saying, ‘Things are fine, and we are far away from the fighting,' ” his mother recalled.
“He said he was doing a humanitarian job, that the people were very nice. If you see him, he couldn't hurt anybody — such a type of man couldn't hurt a fly,” she said, crying.
Ibrahim's brother Rami said he never heard gunfire or explosions in the background during those phone calls.
“I don't believe it! I don't believe it!” his mother sobbed. “The last time I talked to him was the beginning of Ramadan,” the Muslim holy month, on July 7.
She said his cellphones worked for about a week after that date, then switched off.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the identity documents were found at a base of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) and al-Sham in the city of Ras al-Ein, in Syria's Hasakah province.
The two Islamist groups are loosely allied with other al-Qaida terror groups in the region.
“The documents were found after the ISIS retreated from the town after intense clashes last week with the YPG,” the group stated. “We do not know the fate of the owners of these documents, whether they are dead or alive and still active in Syria.”
The YPG — Yekineyen Parastina Gel, or People's Protection Units — is an armed wing of Syria's leading Kurdish party. A youth militia, it fights any outside groups, government or rebel forces trying to enter Kurdish territory.
    ‘Al-Qaida — oh, God!'
“I was expecting this,” Ibrahim's father said of news that his son's passports were found. “Al-Qaida — oh, God!”
“He came to me and asked me if he can go to Syria. I told him, ‘Over my dead body,' ” he said. He recalled telling his son, “If you go, I don't want to hear about you at all.”
In May, Syrian government forces killed Nicole Lynn Mansfield, 33, a Muslim convert from Flint, Mich., who was fighting with rebel forces.
Other Americans have been reported to be fighting in Syria.
Eric Harroun, an Army veteran, was indicted in June, charged with fighting for Al Nasrah Front, an al-Qaida-affiliated group.
In April, FBI agents at O'Hare International Airport near Chicago arrested Abdella Ahmad Tounisi, 18, as he allegedly tried to fly to Turkey to join Al Nasrah.
Citing federal privacy laws, officials at the State Department — which issued Ibrahim's passport on March 6, 2012 — and the Department of Homeland Security, the agency charged with blocking members of al-Qaida from American shores, declined to comment.
Officials at State did not return messages asking whether the U.S. government is treating Ibrahim as a missing person or is seeking Turkish, Syrian or Iraqi help to locate him.

The Taliban was trained and armed by the USA/CIA, it was your 'friend' which at the point of the US led invasion wasn't being as pliable as the USA had expected. With that as a background why would the Taliban have expected the USA, its friend and backer, to attack its' Land ?

I think you have put yourself into a contrary position in this discussion, on the one hand not agreeing with you Govs actions but on the other hand insisting yours is the biggest and bravest Army in the World. It is beside the point but actually Americans are notoriously undisciplined, untrainable and no-one fights next to them without loosing many men to their 'friendly fire', that is not to say that other soldiers dislike the US soldiers, many find then endearing but that they are simply not safe to fight along side. I say this only because it is such a heavy burden for any one to have to carry, that of trying to prove always that 'your boys' are super heros, they are not and how could they be? Used to 'soft' living fighting in a place they have no attatchement to, far from home. have a hope in hell against tough men and women who have fought for their own Land forever, in their own Land?

I think that if they were so tough, we would have been gone many years ago and not flying drones over their heads and blowing their babies out of their cribs for fun.

I am well aware of the connection of the 2001 Taliban to the 1980's Mujaheden.

I have simply been stating...FACTS....NOT OPINIONS or commentary. I posted these facts which I have backed with links to sources....Syrian Girl has stated such facts were lies...they are not.

Your statement I have quoted where you state..." Americans are notoriously undisciplined, untrainable and no-one fights next to them."....end quote....IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS.

Granted when such integrated services are operating multiple personal upon a battlefield there have always been Friendly Fire accidents...compared to the track record of other countries that have used integrated services upon a battlefield U.S. Friendly Fire Casualties are the lowest in HISTORY.

As far as your..."notoriously undisciplined, untrainable"...comment....well that simply is not true as American Military Personal are considered and known to be a Highest Trained, Highly Disciplined and Highly Maneuverable Force that uses the Highest Tech. Weapons System in the world.

As well as a VERY SMALL NUMBER OF U.S. Special Forces such as were used in Afghanistan were capable of DIRECTING U.S. AIR POWER to defeat thousands of Taliban at a Boots on the Ground Ratio to Enemy Killed greater than in all the History of Warfare.

These statements are not some attempt to portray U.S. Forces and Personal as Supermen...THEY ARE SIMPLY STATEMENTS OF FACT.

Every Winter the Taliban cross over the Afghan Boarder to enter Western Pakistan where the Taliban spend the winter as guests of Tribal Warlords in this Self-Autonomous Tribal Region.

A plan is available if deemed necessary to use Satellite Infra-Red Tracking of Taliban Troop Movements in the Spring when the Taliban return to Afghanistan in mass. The Plan details how if it were decided U.S. Space Command would provide coordinates to U.S. Bomber Forces flying large wings of B-52H's, B-1B's and B-2's to use a combination of new Smart Saturation Carpet Bombing Technology along with Thermobaric Weapons and new Treaty accepted Self-Diffusing Cluster Munitions being dropped by such Heavy U.S. Bombers to destroy a swath of area 500 Miles Long and 5 Miles Wide along the Pakistan/Afghanistan Boarder.

Such saturation carpet bombing would be directed by U.S. Space Command as a solution to the Taliban issue if deemed necessary.

As far as how well the Taliban fight...well let's just say I might have intimate experience and knowledge of such things and I can tell you this...I would place $100 on my 84 year old neighbor who is a Grandmother as she enjoys going to the local Fish and Game to take part in Turkey Shoots and other target specific events...to be able to drop at least 4 to 5 Taliban COWARDS before she would consider such sport as TOO EASY.

These men...with a small M...are not either well trained or well disciplined....but they certainly are good at burying a woman who has been raped up to her chest and then STONING HER TO DEATH...as the Taliban would judge such a woman who has been raped as practicing INFIDELITY.

Your entire statement shows me just how little you either know or understand of all issues here being discussed and only shows you have a deeply biased opinion of anything that might be associated to the U.S. Military or other groups.

Vast majority of casualties are Jihadists, collateral damage happens. Blame Pakistan for allowing Jihad to fester in its nation.

'When the Germans attack the British retreat, when the British attack the Germans retreat, when the Americans attack every one runs for cover' it is a World wide saying. The Aussies refused to fight next to you in Vietnam for that reason .........Oh man Americans are bad soldiers, so what? Who (*)(*)(*)(*)ing wants to fight in other peoples Lands against the little peoples of those lands and for God knows what, a couple of $ and an education.

The Taliban .................mmmmm how many of your own trainees, the Taliban, where those who held and used rifles against such might as the whole of the most up to date Army with bombs which are nuclear tipped eh? Many who were mown down was actually only a local resistance and how many were not fighting at all? Villages obliterated, completely wiped from the map .................. for Gold.

Oboma is useing Drones on the tribal Lands of Pakistan because the gas pipe lines are due to run through their Lands and down into India. Genocide is not War.

There is currently a 33 year difference between the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan and the subsequent CIA arming of Afghan's and the current existing Taliban.

That would mean a 28 year old Mujahideen in 1980 would now be 61 YEARS OLD!!!

You really have no idea upon what you are talking about.

The Taliban were recruited as boys from refugee camps.

I did not say they were one in the same.

The U.S. had absolutely nothing to do with the current Taliban.

Because the U.S. Congress failed to provide a lousy $1 Million for education in Afghanistan young Afghans have no idea it was the United States that helped they defeat the Soviets.

The U.S. had at first decided not to make the mistake of placing any large number of troops in Afghanistan as the history of this country shows that it cannot be held on to by an invading force.

This is the reason the U.S. Military only used Special Forces to direct air attacks and at their highest level only 998 U.S. Special Forces were in Afghanistan and early on only 56 members of U.S. Special Forces were responsible for forcing the Taliban out of Kabul and forcing the Taliban to retreat to Pakistan.

56 U.S. Green Beret's and other SNAKE EATER'S were responsible for KILLING OVER 10,000 Taliban.

In one case a unit of 12 Green Beret's was responsible for killing 1,300 Taliban.

I was in the US during the Vietnam War and every bloody day 10,000 Vietnamese dead 10 Americans, 20,000 Vietnamese dead, 15,000 every single day, one day my Ma said 'how many people live in that country?'.

And you are so prideful of going into, invading another country and slaughtering their people, you are proud of that?

Your head is to full of and believing in your US War propaganda there is no point in arguing with you, it has no where to go. .

Because of what I sometimes do...I above most people hate war.

But if we have to go to war it is best to be prepared and capable.

If there ever was a group that people could say they were happy they were being illuminated it would be the Taliban.

Vietnam is a war that several of my family were involved with and we were not the first country fighting Communist North Vietnam as the French and other countries were there fighting decades before the U.S.

Vietnam was a debacle because the U.S. Military was never allowed to fight the war the way it wanted to a President Lyndon Johnson micromanaged every aspect of that war until he left office.

Nixon ordered Linebacker I and Linebacker II which was the unrestricted Day and Nighttime bombing of North Vietnam.

Prior to this Johnson did not allow the U.S. Navy and Air Force aircraft to attack deep into North Vietnam and Hanoi...the capital of North Vietnam where multiple hundreds of SAM...Surface to Air Missiles...were located that were operated by Soviet Personal and were responsible for downing U.S. War Planes.

As a result of both Linebacker Missions and the subsequent destruction of the majority of North Vietnam's SAM sites as well as the destruction of entire North Vietnamese Divisions....100's of thousands of Soldiers and Equipment....as large wings of B-52's using a ROLLING THUNDER arc light Carpet Bombing Campaign were able to vaporize Hundreds of Miles of North Vietnam's Military emplacements...this caused the North to agree to Peace Accords and the eventual withdraw of U.S. Forces.
